Taylor was wary of me, as she should be, but that didn’t stop me from hoping she would try to understand me. With my associations with the hunters, I couldn’t blame her. I would have been wary too.
The concrete outside her apartment building was damp with water from a light drizzle that had blessed the area. My mind raced as I fisted my hair, staring out into the darkened sky, wondering what I was going to do now. It had taken me years to find her, and now that I had, it was like I couldn’t get it right.
