“What the fuck?”
Tate approached me from the shadows as the words passed my lips. A cool smirk played across his plump pink lips. Broad shoulders and a firm build would usually make me swoon, but right now, I was on guard.
“Look, I know you're probably confused, but I promise I can explain.” He pulled his hands from his pockets, holding them up as if to say he meant no harm.
I instinctively tried to avoid him, quickly dashing towards my kitchen. I went for the butcher knife, tucked safely away in a draw, only to be stopped in my tracks. Again, another firm grasp around my waist pulled me back, smashing me into a firm chest. “Don’t do that. I saved you, remember?”
“You’re a fucking hunter!” I screamed, only to have his hand come down over my mouth.
