Chereads / The devil's successor / Chapter 10 - chapter 10

Chapter 10 - chapter 10

" I think father is planning something behind our backs" Malcolm voiced out his suspicions.

" I get a feeling that he has kept the so called son of Earth alive because he does not want him to die" Salvatore joined him.

" I swear I will kill brother at any cost. I don't care if it makes father angry" Alaris said bitterly.

" Do you think the devil is your father for you to defy him and still live?" Djjal asked with a hint of sarcasm.

" Who is he then if not my father Or do you mean I am adopted?" Alaris responded in annoyance. He was tired of Djjal's behavior of always acting mature.

" I guess he is your father until you defy him" Malcolm said teasingly.

They were all in the room that the devil's children used to chill in.

Most of the times they would be there with ladies doing all sorts of lewd things but this time they were on their own.

They didn't have company for they were discussing a very dangerous motion; they were questioning the devil's decisions.

" I think it's time we show Lucifer that his sons are no longer little kids that he can fool whenever he desires" Salvatore proposed.

" Lower your voice. You are talking about the devil for goodness sake. If he gets to hear about this get it from me that we are all some sauce" Djjal warned.

Djjal was the oldest among them and he was always there to prevent them from getting into trouble.

He got along well with all his brothers apart from Leviathan. He hated Leviathan for he was partially human.

Perhaps had he been getting along with Leviathan, Djjal would have prevented him from doing the foolish act that got him punished.

" I don't know why but I have a strange feeling that we will never prosper as long as Leviathan is still breathing" said Malcolm.

Alaris and Malcolm were the type to always use violence and they did little to no reasoning before taking any action.

Malcolm was the second oldest while Alaris was the youngest among the four and the second youngest among the five.

Salvatore was the third on both ends. It was him and Djjal that did the thinking for the other reckless brothers.

" What do you have in mind?" Salvatore asked. He looked at Malcolm's direction waiting for an answer.

" I think we should get help from Castiel and make him kill our dear brother" Malcolm said with a smirk.

" As if he is the one free from getting a taste of Lucifer's wrath" Djjal said sarcastically.

" Maybe we should try out Death" said Alaris.

Death was an ancient demon known as Adramalech.

He was the one in charge of transporting the souls of dead people to the world of the dead.

He lived in a different dimension but every creature feared him for he did not need to fight you.

He could simply take your life away and boom! the game is over before it even began.

Even the devil would think more than twice before engaging in a fight with him.

" That would be a one big fight that would make even the Angels come from heaven to witness the grand war" Malcolm said excitedly.

" Unfortunately, Death would assimilate us into his kingdom if we dared present him such an idea" said Salvatore

That old Demon would never accept to fight the devil in his right state of mind because the fight could last for eternity.

Lucifer stood no chance against Adramalech while the latter could never be able to kill Lucifer without getting help from a divine being.

The old Death even though powerful always preferred peace and never went to war. That's what staying with dead souls reduced him into.

He started wanting peace and even moved to another dimension with his poor souls.

" Maybe one of us should just kill Leviathan once and for all" Alaris yelled as he was growing impatient.

Salvatore was angered by Alaris' childish act. He got up and held him by the chin.

" Why don't you go and kill him alone then suffer your predicaments in the devil's dungeon all by yourself" he yelled.

" It was just an idea. No need to get mad" Alaris tried to act cool. He knew how irrational his brother became whenever he lost his temper.

Alaris decided to remain quiet and keep his ideas to himself in order to avoid any unnecessary beatings.

" What should we do then?" asked Malcolm. "We should chill and relax" Alaris replied sarcastically.

" You guys just leave everything to me. In the meantime you should act as if everything is normal" proposed Djjal.

" We all trust you" said Salvatore. Djjal smiled at him with a warm demeanor and nodded.

Djjal was happy to see that everyone was satisfied by the decision or he thought everyone was.

There was one person who had some other plans behind their back. He had come to a firm conclusion that he would follow his plan to the T.

Neither that person nor the others knew that there was yet another person who had plans of his own.

They were all Lucifer's children and no matter how long they lived together they would always be like him; selfish and backstabbers.

Though they made plans together on the surface, deep down in their hearts each of them had some hidden agenda.

" Does anyone of you have objections?" Djjal asked to make sure no one would start to cause trouble in the future.

" Why should you ask if you do not wish to know. If you can't bear to listen to the objections then it would be better if you don't ask in the first place" Malcolm rebuked.

Djjal clenched his hands into fist and stared at Malcolm coldly. " I am warning you for the last time now. Don't pick up a fight with me if you can't handle it" Djjal warned calmly.

" Do we always have to abide by your decisions? For devil's sake why don't you give us a break" Alaris said.

Djjal rose up and pressed Alaris' neck. " I don't give a warning twice" he whispered coldly.

Malcolm got irritated and joined in the fight. Salvatore tried to stop him but he placed his hand on his chest and a layer of ice coated Salvatore's body.

He pressed Djjal's head and froze him. He caught the statue and slammed it against the wall.

The layer of ice crashed and Djjal broke free. His hands were covered in a lilac flame as he moved towards Malcolm.

" That's no way to fight a creature of hell" he said emotionlessly. Malcolm realised the trouble he was in and took a few steps backwards.

" Please brother I did not mean to..." the words could not come out as Djjal lifted him by his neck.

Meanwhile Salvatore came out of the layer of ice and found Malcolm suffering in the hands of Djjal.

" Let him go" he ordered. Djjal dropped Malcolm and headed towards Salvatore.

Whenever his demon came to the surface he recognized no one. All he did was destroy any living thing near him.

" What do you think you are doing? It's me Salvatore your Ally" he pleaded.

The flame on Djjal's hands cooled down before vanishing and he was back to his normal self.

He looked at Malcolm who was lying unconscious on the ground. " Is he dead?" he asked in a concerned tone.

" Almost" Alaris replied coldly. " All this is your fault" Salvatore said while addressing Alaris.

Djjal leaned forward and placed his hand on Malcolm's chest. Immediately Malcolm coughed and opened his eyes.

" Don't look at me. I tried to save you from all this but you were grateful enough to freeze me" Salvatore teased.

Malcolm got up but did not say a word. He was still in pain after burning in Djjal's flame. "Don't worry. You will heal after a few minutes" Djjal said assurinly.

" I think you guys should voice your complaints in a respectful manner next " Salvatore said full of sarcasm.

" We will" Alaris almost whispered. After what had almost transpired between Malcolm and Djjal he could not dare cause any more trouble.

" Pleased to know" Djjal said with a grin. Salvatore made a sarcastic smirk at Alaris humbleness.

" I guess no one has any objections then" Salvatore said with contempt.

Malcolm shook his head with clenched fists. He wished to say something awful to Salvatore but he could not dare take another risk.

" Would you mind telling us what plan you have in mind?" Alaris asked softly.

" In a way yes. I don't trust that you can keep my secrets" Djjal said proudly.

" Whatever it is just make sure that Leviathan dies once and for all" Salvatore said.

Djjal nodded and gave him a reassuring . He trusted Salvatore the most among his brothers.

Involving the others in his plans was a risk he was not ready to take because they never thought rationally.

He felt a bit bad for not being able to contain his anger. Had Salvatore not interfered he would have killed Malcolm and that would have ruined his plans adversely.

" Malcolm I hope that you understand that I didn't intend to hurt you. Hope there is no bad blood between us though" Djjal said softly.

Though it was not in his nature to apologise, he had to for he knew that Malcolm would never cooperate with him unless he at least pretended to humble himself.

" I think you forgot to include me in your conspiracies" someone said as he solidified in the room.

They all stared at him eagerly to know who it was that had caught them red handed in their little game.

Hopefully it wasn't the big guy.
