* Three months ago*
Somewhere in the solar system, a ship was hovering with many aliens working on board. Everybody wore a tan translucent fabric, they had gray skin similar to an elephant, no hair, and had etchings on of different symbols on their skin. They had pitch black eyes and only had a line for mouths, some were bigger than others but they were all very muscular. They called their race the Rek'Nee.
At the front of the ship there were nine of the Rek'Nee, a group of eight were split up in half and then staggered behind each other with their hands above the console. The console had a hemisphere giving off energy which they, in turn, translated into information. The Last Rek'Nee was the biggest of them all, he was two meters tall with an athletic build, and he was staring out the glass in front of the ship far off onto a certain planet.
"Captain Raku the planet has successfully survived the change with its inhabitants getting stronger using their abilities," A crewmember said.
"Hmm, it must be spores that they inhaled, very well, commence Phase two and hopefully they can remain resilient," He said with a stern face.
As the others heard his command they began pouring their energy into the hemisphere giving the ship a set of commands. The ship creaked and groaned as it was getting ready to discharge phase two. A few seconds later at the bottom of the ship, a hatch opened up with multiple tiny holes. They shot into space heading straight for the earth, these things flew at incredible speeds and once they entered the earth's atmosphere it got even faster.
All these things turned out to be seeds that were spread out everywhere, into the ocean and land.
"They have completed their objective sir, the process should take two months," The same person came back with the report.
"Perfect, if they survive this we might be able to have some fun," he said with a sadistic smile.
_______
Present day,
In the middle of the ocean, there was a smuggler living on an island, he's been staying there ever since he killed the wrong person on a deal.
Rey stayed on the island by himself, it was fine for him, because what's more perfect for a water user than to be surrounded by water? Rey was going for his early morning swim seeing as he had just woken up not too long ago. Rey likes to keep fit, not only for himself and more importantly... for the ladies. Being on the island for so long he had beach-tanned skin and sun-bleached hair.
"I need this swim today, last night was a blur," Rey said inwardly, he would often swim over to some of the other small islands, that were inhabited by villages or small towns. The night before he went on a drug binge and passed out after he got back to his island.
He went to the shore of the beach and proceeded to get nude before heading into the water for a swim. Rey zoomed at incredible speeds going wherever he pleased with no resistance, the water felt like morning coffee to him and the faster he went the more alive he felt.
Moments later he stopped for a second to relish this feeling but suddenly he heard a deep gurgling sound below him, he was naturally curious as to what animal could make that noise. Since he felt confident that no sea creature could harm him he went further down to investigate the gurgling. It didn't take long for him to hear the sound again and this time it was louder, seeming as if they wanted him to know where it was.
"The water is my friend," Rey thought to himself, even though he figured he had nothing to worry about, but the deeper he went the darker his surroundings got. Rey only had the power of water, not light so he just stood above where the sound was and threw out a water pulse, nothing dangerous enough to harm, but to at least let it know he was there.
As he threw out the pulse he started to see the outline of whatever it was coming in his direction. Rey watched intently and wondered if he could guess what it was but as it came out of the shadows he was shocked.
The creature going towards him had fleshy-looking skin as if his insides were on its outside and it was shaped like a stingray but was as thick as a submarine with a single giant eye in the middle.
Rey didn't know what fish that was, if it even was a fish but he didn't like the feeling of seeing its eye stare at him, almost as if it was hungry. The moment Rey felt that uneasiness he bolted off towards his island hoping that thing can't go on land as well.
The creature seeing this opened it's mouth and screeched out loud before racing toward Rey. When Rey heard the screech he looked back behind him to see the creature gaining on him, even at the speed he was going. At this point Rey was terrified, he decided to throw out some water slashes and stronger water pulses hoping it'll either kill it or injure it heavily. As the barrage of moves landed on the creature a cluster of bubbles came out but the creature soon shot through the bubbles not slowing down at all.
Rey seeing this knew his only option was to swim away, but even if he did the speed this creature was going, he would eventually catch up to him, but like he said he had only one option. Rey took off again and used his water pulse as a boost in speed hoping he can pull away.
Rey can see his island and saw a glimmer of hope.
"Let me just make it to the shore, let me just make it to the shore, let me just make it to the shore," Rey kept repeating that for every second that passed by. Rey wanted to look back to see how close the creature was but he was too afraid to find out the answer, so he just kept his focus on his island.
As he reached close enough to the shore he boosted his water pulses to shoot him out of the water and land on the shore, but when he did that he noticed the creature followed his same actions and hopped out of the water with its mouth open, exposing razor-sharp teeth that would be impossible to count. The creature clamped down on Rey's lower body and wrapped its own body around the rest of him before landing on the floor.
When he finished his meal he threw Rey's skeleton to the side and screeched into the sky, relishing in the first time it had, had human blood. It turned around and headed back into the water, setting course for the other islands, in hopes of having another meal.
