Chapter 13 - Bounty

"No, I'm just surprised a guy with his powers would have a bounty," Wayne said immediately, denying claims of knowing the figure.

"Ahh well I can see your confusion but his name is Zeak Unis, as you can see he murdered a female with a bright mind and powers to go with it. The bastard just left her in a mess in the lab he was working in. We had healers on site and they said that they had never seen anything like it and God was the only one that could bring her back. Luckily her work survived but it's still not the same"

"It seems that you know a lot about this one," Wayne said trying to get more information, thinking this is something he would've never assumed from Zeak.

"Yes, perhaps you can say he is why I became what I am today. I was a scientist before this job, I became somewhat obsessed with finding him, to the point that I ended up in my position five years ago."

Wayne didn't say any more, he knew he could ask Zeak for his side of the story when he saw him.

When Greeves was done talking, Wayne continued flipping through the files looking for one that said: "dead or alive". Wayne needed Helgor to get stronger and in turn, he will get a boost as well.

Alright, I will narrow it down to these three, Wayne said highlighting them so they can appear side by side. Greeves looked at the choices and only smiled, the guys he picked were not only dangerous but had followers to help.

"Not to be rude but, I know he is only a Class C but he has subordinates that are stronger than that. Wouldn't it be better to go knock out some easy ones first?" Greeves asked. He was looking at Waynes' expression to see if he got through to him.

"They can all die too right? I'm not breaking any rules?" Wayne asked as he answered a question with a question of his own.

"No you're not breaking any rules," Greeves said in a questioning tone wondering why Wayne was asking this.

"Okay that's even better for me," Wayne said with a smile while figuring out who to choose.

The choices were between Ana Greasly, her powers were fire, she isn't as strong as Rain but it's her hideout that was the real problem. When he pulled up the details he saw that there were over 300 guards in the area. Wayne thought it'd be a tall task but will only choose her if the other options seemed worse.

The other choice was Rey Gilligan, his powers were water, the only problem is that he is on an island in the middle of the ocean. Getting there is one thing, but that whole island could be a trap. He noticed there weren't any guards listed but Wayne didn't bank on that being true.

The last was Vernon Childs, he was more peculiar, the report said he was fleeing to the other side of the continent. It stated that he had six guards with him, one of them was even listed as a high-tier class B. Wayne didn't think too much of it until he saw Vernon's powers, he wielded two powers, one with fire and the other being poison.

Wayne took a while to think about it but he eventually pointed to one, gesturing who he wanted. When Greeves saw this he was slightly disappointed in his choice thinking that this young prodigy was going to live a short life.

Greeves went behind the desk and pulled the cartridge out to put it back in the drawer, before closing it he grabbed a device similar to a military phone but smaller in size and it had an LED screen displaying information on it.

"This will be able to give you the information you have just seen on the desk but this will be more updated as it is connected to all the databases and will give you live reports as it comes through, on your target's location," Greeves said this as he handed the device to Wayne and Wayne immediately started fiddling with it.

"Hmm seems he is heading towards the west side of the country, I'll have to get going if I want to catch up," Wayne said as he was trying to find the best way to intercept him.

"Word of advice for you Nightfall, don't take Vernon lightly, he maybe is Class C but his poison alone should put him in Class A."

Wayne looked with wide eyes, "It's that strong?"

Greeves didn't say anything, he just nodded his head.

Wayne got up from the chair and started heading towards the door, he knew it would be dangerous but he couldn't play it safe, he needed to get stronger. The reason he picked Vernon was just that, he had two abilities and it would be the first one he would ever encounter with a case like that, and besides that Wayne was planning on feeding Helgor, real good.

"Well I hope to see you again," Greeves said as he walked Wayne out of his office.

"You too Doc."

Wayne began leaving the building trying to figure out where he had to go, but before he could go anywhere he need to speak with Zeak. Just as he was thinking about calling him, Zeak called Wayne.

"Hey, I'm a few minutes away, where can I meet you exactly?" Zeak had stated.

"I'll come to you! I don't think it is a good idea to come here"

"Really why is that?"

"Do you know a guy by the name of Dr.Greeves?"

Zeak stopped in his tracks when Waynes' words fell upon his ears.

"How do you know him?" Zeak said as he started panicking, thinking if he made the right decision to come back.
