After the call with Zeak, Wayne went toward New Dawn City taking a total of three days, luckily for Wayne, he had some candy in his pocket and saved all the way to the second day. So right now it's safe to say Wayne was starving.
He pushed himself to wait until he reached the city before stopping, he wanted to spend his money on the food in the city for he heard it was the best that he could get.
As it was midday Wayne finally reached the outskirts of the city and looked for the nearest building to see where the good food would be and where is the office building.
The first building he made a b-line to was a smooth cement building with no color besides the natural cement look and had a sign saying Ed's hardware.
Once inside you can see racks of weapons from energy guns to plasma swords. It reminded Wayne of Zeaks bus but none of these could compare to Zeaks created weapons. Wayne thought if he should buy a weapon but after seeing the condition of most of them he quickly disregarded the idea and thought it'd be better for Zeak to make him a weapon if he really needed one.
The lady behind the counter was two meters and her stature was that of a powerlifter she also had short brown hair and tan skin.
"If you're not buying get out the bathroom is off limits," she said with annoyance in her tone.
"Hey, it's okay I came from a long way and just needed some direction," Wayne said walking towards her casually with his arms up.
"..." she didn't say anything as she saw the state of his attire and can see his claims had some weight but she believed him once he was close enough to smell him.
"Stop right there!" she shouted as scrunched up her nose.
"Ohh my bad," Wayne said as he halted noticing her expression.
"Been traveling for a couple of days and just want to make some money and some good food."
"Where do you want to go?" the Woman said with a look of content as she thought perhaps Wayne could've been a beggar.
"I heard I can get a job as an officer and any good food in that direction"
"An officer? Are you sure you're qualified for that?" The woman said with a questioning look.
"I would say I'm strong, it's just that you miss every shot you don't take," Wayne said with a shrug.
"Alright if you insist, you just have to keep following the road east and you should see a medium size building with guards in front, that's the office for the job and two buildings next to it is a bar that serves good food." The woman said while pointing in the direction she was talking about.
"Thank you so much, you did a great service!" Wayne said as he turned around about to head out.
"Hey! information isn't free, either you buy something or you owe me a debt," The woman said as she said the last half with a sadistic glee.
"Well uhhh..." Wayne patted his pockets to pull the money he had taken from Rain he had about three hundred dollars so he was confident he can at least buy something cheap.
"What's your cheapest item?"
"Six thousand," the woman said firmly.
Wayne's eyes nearly popped out of his head when he heard this number, he was really trying to avoid trying to owe her but it might be his only option.
"Well I can give you two hundred and we can call it even," Wayne said with a wry smile.
"You disrespect me, you're lucky I don't kill you just for saying that."
Wayne was low on energy and trying to avoid a fight so he had to play it smart for right now.
"Okay well I guess I owe you a debt, My name is Wayne," Wayne said as he thought about saying his last name but he didn't want to be affiliated with his old man and he didn't know his mother's maiden name so if anything he would make one up if pressured.
"My name is Maggy," she said with her hand out for an official handshake.
Wayne turned around to head out and as he was at the door Maggy screamed out for him to hear
"I will be seeing you very soon Wayne," with the same sadistic smile.
Wayne just gave a Wave and headed out.
"That was creepy I wondered what she would want"
Helgor chimed in.
"She will definitely crush me if we make the wrong move," Wayne said while chuckling thinking of the scene.
After an hour of walking, Wayne saw the building that Maggy was talking about and he peaked further down the see the bar that looked full and had a smile thinking it must have good food for it to be full.
He looked around the city and it was busy, it was nighttime at this point and the place was still lively. Wayne still knew that the capital was probably much busier than it is over here.
He saw an Inn he could stay at and luckily it was much cheaper than Maggy's prices were. After he showered he went to the bar and spent basically the rest of his money on food. He waddled back to the Inn and went to bed for the morning.
Morning came and he went straight to the officer building, the guards at the front were both wearing a light blue uniform with new dawn insignia on the chest. They both had lances and stood firm like a brigadier.
"Where do you think you're going?" the guard on the left said as both guards crossed spears blocking Wayne's path.
"Going to apply to become an officer," Wayne said in an obvious tone while pointing to the building behind them.
"Pfft, they just let anybody apply huh, kid do you even have decent powers if you have any at all? You look weak and I've never seen you around here, get lost before you waste someone's time."
"Didn't your parents teach you not to judge a book by its cover," Wayne said with a smirk on his face.
"If you're able to beat me in a fight I'll get down on all fours and call you master," The guard said it like it was in no known universe could he lose to this kid.
"Okay, I'll take you up on your offer if I lose I'll make it as if I was never here," Wayne said instantly after hearing the man's offer.
The man was shocked, he didn't think he would accept the offer, he just said it just to scare him away, now he really had to take time out of his day to beat up a kid. The more he thought about the more upset he got.
"Alright kid, follow me and I'll show you a lesson on respecting your elders," the main guard that was on the left began moving inside while the other remained standing outside.
"So where are you going to take me?" Wayne asked following the guard.
"I'm going to show you a bit humility," and as he said that he came into a giant field the size of four soccer fields put together and there were platforms scattered everywhere with people sparring on there.
The guard eventually found an empty platform and began taking off his gear.
