Wayne was heading towards Vernons' body, he wanted to just [Shadow Void] over but he was too tired to expend any more energy. While Wayne was walking, a figure in a white body suit with gold accents flew down in front of him blocking his path. Wayne was stunned as he didn't expect someone to come from above.
"Hey kid, what's your name?"
"Isn't it more polite to announce yourself," Wayne said with a tired expression
"Oh the names Duggar, I saw your fight and thought you're pretty fast to get around the beast like that"
Wayne looked at him with a confused expression but didn't say anything.
"So.. uhh.. your name?" Duggar said with an embarrassed look thinking he might be talking too much.
"NightFall."
"NightFall? You must be new, I've never heard of you."
"I'm technically on my first bounty," Wayne said pulling up his bounty on the device.
When Duggar saw the bounty he was impressed to see who he was after.
"I can see you're out of energy I can help you track him down as a repayment for me coming too late to handle the beast."
"No need, I already killed him," Wayne said in a nonchalant matter and he continued "That's actually where I'm heading now, I was going to take a picture of his body for the database."
Duggar raised his eyebrows and nodded his head in approval, "Not bad kid if you're able to handle him and the beast you must be high-tier Class B."
Without saying a word Wayne pulled out his officer ID and showed it to Duggar.
"Nice dude! If you were High tier I would be able to ask you to be on my team since we have an opening but here's my card just in case you reach there before then."
Wayne took the card from Duggar and took a look at it.
"The Ragers?"
"All the good names were taken okay! We'll re-register when we get enough money," Duggar said with a wry smile.
"Okay then, are you the leader?"
Duggar put his hands on his hips and did a heroic pose as if that's his answer to Wayne's question.
"So I will take that as a yes," Wayne said in a questioning manner.
"Yeah kid, I'm a low-tier SideKick working to get my hero license."
"Sidekick huh? You're the first one that I've met." Wayne said in an admiring tone.
"Really? Well I got lucky cause once people know about you most of the sidekick team's would want you."
"Really why is that?"
"Well you can only pass the hero test in two parts, one is if you're individually strong and the second part is to see if you're able to make your team strong. So obviously having someone strong already is a benefit," Duggar said with a big smile as that's why he wanted Wayne on the team.
"Well I guess that does make sense, I will think about it and give you a call when I'm ready."
"Alri-" before Duggar could finish his words multiple vans came screeching around the corner and stopping in front of Wayne and Duggar. The doors slid open and multiple people came rushing out with cameras, drones, and mics aiming it mainly at Duggar for he was a well-known sidekick.
"Duggar over here!"
"No over here!"
"I just have one question!"
Multiple people started talking at once making it impossible to get a clear word in. Duggar just pointed one hand up and everybody began to quiet down as he was prepared to say something.
"If you're here to ask me about the beast that was reported you should be talking to the kid, he finished it right before I got here," Duggar said pointing to Wayne and then the pile of bones and guts on the floor in the distance.
Some reporters gagged when they saw the guts on the floors while the others who were more desensitized to these things shifted their focus from Duggard to Wayne.
"What's your name?" One reporter asked and everybody became silent as they wondered the same.
"My name is NightFall," Wayne said with an expressionless look. He never thought he would be the center of attention with the cameras on him and people wanting to know about him.
"Mr.NightFall, what class are you and how did you manage to beat the beast to this state?" the reporter said pointing to the remains of the beast.
"I'm Bottom Tier Class A and about the beast.... that's a secret," Wayne said with a provocative smile.
Duggar nodded his head in approval, happy Wayne was smart enough not to give out too much information.
The reporters started salivating hearing Wayne, a young kid who was Class A. Most people his age were still Class C so hearing this was a shock.
Duggar saw that the kid could handle things and began flying off to another place where his mentor had invited him to a meeting with other heroes and sidekicks.
Meanwhile, seeing Duggard was leaving, the questions from the reporters became more fierce and rapid. Overwhelming Wayne to the point that he had to just walk away and hope the reporters would get the hint.
The reporters eventually left thinking of the beast's corpse and how they didn't want to end up like that. They went to their respective studios and start editing and airing the footage they captured that night.
As the report came on everybody watching tuned in to see this young Class A NightFall begin his path. Most people that saw the report saw it as another person with powers that'll add to the collection while others who had first-hand experience with him were finally able to put a name to his face.
The people at the center with Max instantly went to the forums to recount their interaction with him.
In the meantime, Wayne walked to Vernon's corpse to not only collect his bounty but to await his newly acquired upgrade.
