Chapter 7 - Hunters

Diana, being more used to shifting, turned back into human for and pulled on her cloths as she made her way to the door. She looked back to Victoria as the girl started her shift. Once the redhead was sure the white haired woman was about done she opened the door just enough to poke her head through.

"C-can I help you?" Diana asked, her heart beating faster than it should. The humans in front of her were carrying guns and looked like they had been in the woods a few days.

"Excuse us ma'am, but you haven't by chance seen wolves around here since last night?" The one man asks. He was large and had a scar over his cheek that looked old. Diana gulped, he reminded her of an Alpha.

"All I know is that there were gun shots," she answers as she grips the door more. She can hear Victoria shuffle behind her. One of the other men was narrowing his eyes and trying to see inside.

"May we come in?" Another asked and Diana wasn't sure how to answer. In a pack she wouldn't even be in this situation at all.

Lucky for her, Victoria came to her rescue. She gripped the door and opened it more. Nearly towering over the Omega. Diana wanted to yelp and gulp at the deadly glare she was giving the men.

"No you may not," Victoria growled out. Diana's first instinct was to agree, but one of the hunters tightened his grip on the strap of his gun.

"Excuse us for interrupting young lady," the first one said as he gave Victoria's single piece of clothing a once over, "but we have been in the woods a few days now and we've run through our water supply, surely you have some that you could spare?" He added.

"I'm sure we can at least fill you up," Diana said with a smile. Her smile however faltered a little when she felt Victoria move a hand around her back to grip her hip. Her sharp nails digging into her. It hurt a little but also felt rather nice she would shyly admit.

"Diana what are you doing?" Victoria hissed into the girl's ear. The redhead shivered.

"I'm being polite," Diana whispered back before stepping to the side. Victoria wanted to scold the Omega, but found herself following the men into the area where they had their nest. She glared at them as they moved closer.

"You can sit over there," she said pointing to a long table with chairs. They nodded as Victoria sat down on the seat closest to their nest. There was no way she would sit lower than them.

"Here are our flasks miss," the first hunter said. He seemed to be the nicer one of the lot, yet seemed to be their leader. The redhead smiled and nodded before heading into the kitchen area.

Victoria kept a watchful glare over the hunters as they looked around at their surroundings. There were five total. The obvious leader with the scar, two younger ones that looked like brothers, one very burly man with a thick beard and one with long hair slicked back that gave Victoria the creeps.

One of the younger looking hunters kept glancing at her then would look away. This made Victoria tilt her head and glare more. At this rate she would have a permanent glare.

"Um, could you, maybe not, um," he struggled to say and she started to grit her teeth. Forcing herself not to let an animalistic growl out.

"Spit it out boy," she almost growled and he gulped.

"You're sitting very provocatively," he squeaked out and she just frowned. That was a very big word.

"The lad means that you're almost exposed," the creepy hunter said, smirking.

Victoria realized that due to her legs being firmly grounded in a way to ensure a quick get up if something happened, the shirt she was wearing was just barely covering her. She grumbled and sat a bit more properly.

"I don't think we've ever seen you around here," the creepy smirking hunter said. Victoria didn't like him, he looked like a pervert. She could easily picture him as some lowly depraved wolf with his tongue hanging out and drooling.

"I'm not from here," she growled. It wasn't a lie; her pack was from deeper into the mountains after all.

She missed her home, she missed the cold. Being this low in the valley was making her sweat. She hated it.

"If you ever come into the village, I'm sure we can show you around," he practically purred. Victoria wanted to retort back but Diana just walked in carrying their flasks.

"We can show both of you pretty ladies a good time," he added looking to Diana. Victoria growled and flew up, stepping between Diana and the man.

"I'd rather get eaten by a hungry pack of wolves than let you near her," Victoria growled. Diana gulped and felt her cheeks flush at the power radiating from the woman. Her words not lost on her.

"You have over stayed your welcome, you have your water, now leave," Victoria commanded. Nearly snarling at them, her muscles twitching as she fought to keep herself from shifting.

"You heard the lady, we don't want any trouble," their leader said and ushered his men back out. Victoria followed them till the door, wanting to ensure they leave quickly. She watched as they moved back into the woods, not moving till she could no longer see them.

She closed the door as her muscles shivered. It took everything in her to keep her human form through her anger. She growled and pulled off the shirt before shifting back to her wolf form.

She let out all her growls and snarls as the feeling moved through her body. Rippling like a snakes scales as it moved, wanting to get rid of the anger she was feeling. The white Alpha to be hated feeling angry. It tasted like poison in her mouth.
