I woke up when I heard the sound of clashing utensils. I could smelled the fresh bake toast from my room. Someone seems to cook breakfast in the kitchen. I stretched my left arm to the nightstand next to my bed and tried to grab my phone. I checked my phone. There's another an hour and a half before my class started. I got up from my bed but my phone rang. I checked my phone again. Cheryl Barton, my friend from my high school and now also my course mate is calling. I sat again on my bed and slid my phone screen to answer the phone call.
"Hey Cher, what's up?" I said as soon I picked up the call.
"Hey Del. Just want to make sure our birthday girl is already up." Cheryl said.
"Birthday? Is it today?" I asked. I looked to the calendar that sat upright on my study desk.
"Bruh.. Seriously? You forgot about your birthday again? Wow.. Mel's right." Cheryl said in a sarcastic voice. I could imagine she is making her eye rolls now. I chuckled awkwardly.
"Sorry that you got a friend with a memory of a goldfish. By the way, how's your report on Microbe? We got to send that thing first in the morning, you know." I said. Then, I heard Cheryl groaning on the phone.
"My gosh Del. Could you please not ruin my today's mood with those things? Man.. Those reports just made me sick. I had to stay overnight to finish it." Cheryl said. I chuckled.
"At least you managed to finish it. Hey Cher, I better get ready now or I'll be late. See ya in the class later!" I said.
Cheryl said goodbye and we ended the call. I quickly went to the bathroom and got myself ready for the day.
After getting ready, I went to the dining room and found my housemate who is also my best friend, Melody Ken was serving our breakfast. Melody saw me and smiled.
"Morning, Mel. Smells nice here." I greeted her with a smile.
"Morning Del. Have a seat. Larry will be here in seconds." Mel said.
I took a seat at the dining table and looked at the food she had prepared. The breakfast looked wonderful. A simple fried rice with an egg on top. She also prepared a jug of tea for us and a cup of coffee for our dear friend, Larry Everson. Melody is a great cook. During high school, most of the boys always anticipated for her handmade chocolate on Valentines Day. She even won the cooking competition in our school. She could be the next masterchef.
"Morning girls. Your queen has arrived." someone said from behind us. The person went to my side and hugged me.
"Happy Birthday, Adelynn Anderson. Aww.. Our little bitch has turned 21 this year but it's okay. At least I'm looked younger than you." that person wished me birthday.
"Wow.. Such a touching birthday wish Larry. I'm touché, senor." I said with my sarcastic voice. Larry showed me his annoying face to me.
"Girl.. How many have I told you. It's Lenny, not Larry. Let me spell it out for you. L-E-N-N-Y. Lenny." Larry said.
Larry Eli or Lenny by what he wanted us to call him. He's a gay as you guys could notice. He is the most sassy person I've ever met but he has his kind side which he rarely show it to everyone. Larry and me has so many differences yet only agree on one thing. We all love cute, handsome guy. Like come on.. Most girls and gays like someone who looked cute and handsome. I guess that's how we got close besides the fact that Mel and I are the only who understand him. We had known Larry since the middle school while Mel and me are neighbours so we have known each other way longer.
"Larry, please sit down. We are not going to call you that unless you are competing for the drag queen. Besides, you better eat now or you're going to be late for your class." Melody said.
Larry rolled his eyes and took a seat in front of Melody. We said our graces and eat our breakfast before we got to university with Melody's car.

My first class ended after 3 hours. The same with Melody and Larry so we decided to meet each other at the café for lunch before our next classes. Cheryl and one of our course mate, Brigetta will join us too. I went to their seats after taking all of my stuff.
"Hey Cher, Bri. Are you guys done?" I asked them as I went to their seats.
"Yeah let's go. Come on, Bri." Cheryl said. Brigetta just nodded her head. As we went out, someone just bumped their self over me with their skateboard. My notes fell onto the floor. I quickly crouched down to pick up my things. The one who bumped fell down and hurt his butt. That person got up quickly. Guess that fall was nothing for him.
"Hey sorry. I didn't mean to crash on you just now." that person said.
I stopped what I was doing for a moment. That voice sounded familiar. I looked up to the person. I quickly widen my eyes. That person also did the same.
"Adelynn??"
"Jayson??
We said the same thing. Jayson let out his sarcastic laugh meanwhile I just scoffed. Who's happy to see him?
"Well.. What's the odd of getting to see your ex again if we are in the same school." He said.
I just ignored him, quickly took all of my things and stood up. Jayson also stood up at the same time. I quickly turned away from him. Like would you stay there with your ex? As I tried to step out from that awkward situation, he called me out again.
"No sorry? I mean we are both at faults here." Jayson said. I stopped when I heard that. We are both at faults? Is he crazy or what? Can't he just see that I just don't want to talk to him.
"Well.. I know you are rude but I don't think it to be this extent." He runs his mouth again. This asshole seriously knows how to get on to my nerves. I turned toward him with an angry face.
"Both at faults? Obviously you are the one who stupidly went around the lobby with your skateboard. Who the hell skates around the lobby? Are you trying to get everyone here injured? Are you nuts?" I said.
He looks unsatisfied with what am I saying and was going to run his mouth again but my friends quickly grabbed me from the situation.
"Sorry erm.. Jayson? We apologize for what happened, alright. Besides, you two really knows how to make the atmosphere became awkward. Sorry but we really need to go now. Please do fix this awkward situation, aight Jayson? Come on, Del. Let's go" Cheryl said.
I looked at her for a seconds and I looked around the lobby. People had been watching and muttering around. I let out a sigh. I let go of my hands from my friends and quickly walked out from our faculty to the café.
"Hey Del.. Wait up." Cheryl said.
"I'm sorry for interrupting both of you like that but.."
"No it's okay Cher." I cut her off.
"I should be the one who needs to apologize to you. Also, thank you for getting me out of there. Also sorry Bri that you got to see that." I said. Bri just shakes her head and smile. I smiled back at her.
"Hey. I think I could see your friends at the café. That's them, right? Let's go there." Bri said.
I looked toward the café and saw my besties sitting on one of the table at the nearby café. I also saw two new faces with them. We quickly went to the café and greeted them. They already ordered our food. Thank God I chatted them up before in the class.
"Hey Del. What's up?" Melody greeted me. I just returned her greeting with a smile.
"Woah bitch.. What happened to you? You looked like you want to eat me. Did you just met your ex or something?" Larry said.
I looked to Larry. Man.. Did he just said that? Does he have some sort of power of something?
"Man.. You have no idea who I just met." I said to them while sitting in front of them.
I told them what happened just now and both of them looked like they want to fight for me. I smiled. I am really grateful to have them as my friends.
"By the way, who are these beauties with us?" Bri asked.
"These are my course mate, Beverly and Aliyah. There are also my groupmate for our recent projects." Melody introduced her friends to us. The ladies just smile and nodded.
"Bev, Al. This cute girl is my best friend, Adelynn. Those two are her course mate. Cheryl and Brigetta. They always come to eat with us too." Melody introduced us.
"Okay bitches, let's get over from the boring intro. How about we talk about our birthday girl's birthday party tonight~?" Larry said. I looked to Larry and showed my confused expression.
"A party? What party? Mel? How come I didn't know about this?" I asked them. Melody just sighed.
"It supposed to be a surprised for you but there's a motherfucker here who just cannot contained his excitement and prefer to run his mouth." Mel explained while glaring at Larry from her side. Larry just continued eating while ignoring Melody's insults towards him. Melody sighed and looked towards the rest of us again.
"Anyway, Del I hope you don't mind that we will throw you a party at the club. Besides, we had informed to most of the people already. So, you won't cancel it, right?" Melody said.
I looked to her and to the rest of us. Obviously no is not an option to these people. I just sighed.
"Okay just do whatever you want. Just get me some nice presents. Also, please take note to get a decent one Larry." I said.
I said that one to Larry because his crazy ass self last year just bought me a piece of condom which was packed in a small box which are then packed in another boxes. He even tightly wrapped it a plastic wrapper and tied it with many loops of string and even knotted it with the hardest knot. God knew how much I cursed him out in my heart for the attempt to open the present in 5 days. Could you guys imagine that? Spending my precious 5 days to open a present just to find it only contained a piece of condom.
"That was hilarious, Del. You guys should saw her during those days." Larry said while laughing. I rolled my eyes.
"Hey Del, Larry. We have class in 30 minutes. We need to go now. Also, everyone at this table are invited to the party so see you guys later." Melody said.
"Alright. Bev and Al, please show your face to the party later okay babes." Larry said. I just nodded in agreement and say goodbye to them. Larry also gone to his next class few minutes after Melody and her friends gone. Cheryl, Brigetta and me also went back to our faculty after an hour later.
