His string of apologies did not at all meet a casual acceptance. As much as she had viewed his marriage proposal as rushed, her possessiveness also proved to be of the very same nature. He could not believe that he had just ruined what would have probably turned out to be a night to remember, let alone a gateway to his matrimonial dreams. If there was a night that tortured him immensely then it was then as he could not even pay the usual attention he often extended to his Greylands' other half. It immediately occurred to him that the woman he needed was Jilian and he had to go the extra mile to try and win her back. Her indignant departure made it all sophisticated but allowing her to leave without any effort of resuscitation was not going to make him happy either.
