Rowan’s POV
The high from that encounter—Scarlett tearing down Jennifer, and their rather passionate make out session—carried Rowan into the next day.
It even kept him going through the grueling afternoon meetings with Boris, who was NOT impressed with Jennifer’s mistreatment. Rowan had shot back how he wasn’t impressed with her misuse of the emergency codes. That left them in a stalemate.
But at least for the moment, Boris couldn’t start sh*t unless he wanted his daughter to get in trouble with the king. Those codes were very specifically for emergencies only, and Jennifer’s use of them was a heavy breach in security.
Rowan was in his office at the palace when his friends came in.
Thomas, Liam, Kirk, and Jackson—the same group that had joined him on his escapade to the Moon Goddess Masquerade and consequently helped him find his mate, though they didn’t know that part.
Yet.
If Scarlett’s friends knew, then he was certain his friends could also know.
