They silently walked through the forest, Rowan in his stupid motorcycle helmet and Scarlett trying to keep everything together.
She unfortunately didn’t have a tinted visor to hide the amount of emotional distress she was in. It wasn’t EASY to face the prospect of giving up her mate, letting go, or even just accepting the circumstances that were tearing them apart.
But Scarlett had allowed her emotions to rule her for too long. She needed to go about this logically, needed to not just break down and yell and scream. Instead, she would show Rowan WHY she wanted to yell and scream at him.
Because he wasn’t a bad guy. She was sure of that. He was just caught up with all the others.
“Are you angry at me?” Rowan asked her. “You understand why I didn’t tell you I was the prince, right?”
“Oh, I understand that, but that doesn’t mean I’m any less mad. Unfortunately for you, being a prince doesn’t give you any special privileges here.”
