Avyanna was sure to hear her brother as she fought every part of her that wanted to embrace him freely, but she still believed she needed time to get used to the new Aspen.
Just then, there was another knock on the door, this time, their father peeking his head through the door.
"How's my princess doing." King William said to his daughter. But when he saw Aspen, he cleared his throat and stood upright.
"Son, you're here too," William said seriously.
"Quit the act old man, everyone already knows you're a dotting father, especially to Avyanna," Aspen said crossing his arms.
Avyanna dusted the rest of the cake off her mouth before turning around to meet her father.
"Dad!," She ran to him hugging him.
"How's my little princess doing? Are you nervous?" William asked and Aspen rolled his eyes.
"I was but Aspen helped me get better." I said leashing onto Aspen's arm which surprised him.
