There was always a saying passed down for centuries within the werewolf kingdom from a wise wolf from the oldest generation of wolves who some believed saw the future:
"One day, the wolves will endure loss like never before. But on that day, if we persevere, we will enjoy victory like never before too."
Grandyll recalled studying the teachings of the previous wolves, trying to understand if there was something different, something his generation of wolves could do that would allow them to finally defeat the vampires? It took awhile, but Grandyll had to learn from the many battles he had fought that sometimes, sacrifice is needed in order to achieve something.
That sacrifice now...it could be anyone and he was sure he was next in line.
