Arvin just rushed in and saw Cyril spewing a mouthful of tea onto the computer, and the otherwise serious Paul in the wheelchair looked at Cyril with a shocked face.
"Do my words work so well now?" Arvin's original hand-movement was fixed in the air. Since he was small, Cyril had not given any extra reaction for his words, this was the first time he saw Cyril lose his temper.
Cyril took out his handkerchief to wipe as calmly as possible, trying to make his movements look less awkward and stiff.
"Sit down and be honest! Look at your hurried behavior every day, are you performing a monkey show?" Paul criticized with a sulky face.
Arvin dared not sit down, and knelt half in front of the wheelchair in aggravation, "Dad, Aurora is disclosing the engagement without permission, isn't this a forced marriage?" He shook Paul's hand carefully, "I don't want to get married yet."
Paul glanced at him, "Is Aurora pretty?"
"Yeah, she is beautiful!" Arvin praised without hesitation.
"Is she not good enough for you?"
"Of course no! She's worthy in a million ways, it's me who's not worthy of her." Arvin turned his head and passed a pleading look to Cyril.
"You don't want to announce the engagement to the Carlsson Family just yet."
Hearing Cyril say this, Paul finally stopped pressing Arvin, and he turned his wheelchair closer to Cyril, with sadness in his eyes, "This is the regret of my life."
"I know." Cyril looked him in the eye.
"I'm afraid that Olivia would blame me if she were still alive, for failing to protect both her and her daughter."
"You did the best you could." Cyril said.
Olivia is Aurora's mother, a well-known beauty back in the day. Many agencies came through the door to invite her to become a star, but she refused. She and Paul are childhood sweethearts, but unfortunately, their relationship has turned out to be a regret.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it," Cyril promised Paul as he watched the message on the screen, "and remember to let me know when you're ready to think about it."
He knew that Paul wanted Arvin and Aurora to get married and make up for the regret he had with Olivia. In fact, he has acquiesced to Aurora and him being together, but he just can't let go of the deep-rooted knot for so many years.
The next day, Aurora visited the Sean Family again, and when she saw Paul feeding the fish at the pond, she greeted him politely, "Mr.Sean, it's not easy to meet you."
Paul smiled lovingly and handed her the fish food, "Come and see the fish I've raised."
Aurora bent close and casually sprinkled some into the water, "Is Cyril not here?"
"So you're not here to visit me!" He sighed deeply in mock disappointment.
"Your son has given me away, so who am I to visit you?" Aurora scattered all the fish food into the pond, "Of course, if Cyril and you were family, that would be a different story."
Seeing that Paul did not say anything, she continued, "It was you who wrote to my mother and made a appointment to tie the knot between the two families. Although my mother is no longer here, you still acknowledged the marriage, which shows that you attach great importance to the relationship with my mother. Although I don't know why my mother never mentioned it, and I haven't seen the two families interacting with each other for so many years, I still have the cheek to come, and you know why I came, I just hope you can help me out."
"Naturally I had my reasons for admitting the engagement, I didn't think Arvin would do such a thing, and as for Cyril, I couldn't interfere with his decision."
"I'm here today to talk about the engagement."
"Engaged?" Paul looked at Aurora in shock, "I've never heard that before."
"Maybe Cyril didn't have time to mention it to you. I decided to have an engagement ceremony with him in a week's time, but there's a catch: the Sean Family needs to give him an identity publicly, and that identity has to be related to the Sean Family."
"No!" He leaned back a bit because of the excitement, Aurora immediately held him in place with one hand.
"Cyril's identity cannot be disclosed."
"Why?"
Paul's eyes rolled quickly, "He's my illegitimate son, and it would have a big impact on Arvin if his identity went public."
