Bones grimaced at the empty cup and they shuffled out of the lab to fill theirs.
Kane scoffed in the restroom "You take drugs, cocker?" He asked Guy two toilets away from him.
"If I did, I'd be deadd by now," Guy said zipping down his pants to fill up his cup.
"Too much of a shithouse to take one?" He clapped him on the back causing the stream of urine to swerve over the rim of the sample cup and Guy cursed at the spray on his hand and the remnant spilt into the toilet.
_Bloody shithead. He wouldn't want to start what he couldn't finish.
"Okay that is totally unjustifiable" Donnie ranted from above the toilet seat in the blue stalls and Kane stopped at the exit and turned to him.
"Just make a sentence without the word 'totally' in it. Go on" He prodded smirking and Donnie lowered his head behind the stall and muttered; "M^therf^cker" under his breath and Kane rolled his eyes and pushed through the door.
"P#ssy" He muttered cackling and left.
Guy washed up and flung his hands in the sink gazing at the patch on his pants. "Shit" He grabbed a tissue and pushed the button to air out. All this trouble for a drug test. How was he supposed to play in the tournament when he looked like this?
"Guess some people aren't afraid to play the bad guy," Donnie said unscrewing his water bottle.
"Hey, gimme that," Guy said and Donnie recoiled holding it up.
"No, it's unsanitary" He whined and downed it all.
"Haha yeah, just chug it down like a hamster, why don't you?" He flung his hand up and braced them on his hips.
Donnie stepped down flicking it, wearing his Tee shirt and black cargo pants.
Guy squinted his eyes "Are you wearing socks and sandals?" He asked gazing at the black socks strapped under the sandals with velcro and a little of his leg hair showing.
"What's wrong? They're stylish" He flaunted them and reached the door, where Guy could see his face clearly. He reached down for the knob and shoved the door, he held up his bottle again and yanked it. It didn't budge to his dismay.
"Jesus Christ!" He dropped the bottle and pulled it harder.
"Don't tell me it's what I think it is" Guy pinched the creases in between his closed eyes.
"You think!?" His bawled with wild eyes and black hair bounced as he swivelled to glare at him.
He stumbled at the water pouring down the seats into the floor. "What's happening?"
"War" Guy shoved his shoulder into the door and tried to kick it down as the water rose above their feet.
Donnie inhaled and exhaled "Oh God, there's an opening, why isn't the water depleting!?" He tapped the door "Help!"
Guy hurried to climb over the sink to grab the vent with his bare fingers "Over here"
Donnie looked up and cracked up in frustration "You honestly think I'm going to fit in there!?"
Guy pulled the vent with all his might and the bolts bent out of their holes and he heard groaning noises and metal scraping.
Donnie stood over the sink curled like a ball against the mirror and held onto his bottle staring at the water rising to half of the stalls. His eyes watered trembling and a will to live sizzled through him and with a rush of adrenaline, he snapped jumping over to slam the doors heavily and the water stirred as he hit it.
"Help! Help us please!"
"Do you hear that?" Guy's eyes roved around the corners, his heart raced as the water touched the tip of his shoe; I'm going to die, I'm scared to die. I don't wanna die.
He swallowed when the groaning grew worse and water was seeping through the walls and Guy screamed as a jet stream burst through the vent to overwhelm them.
...
Eve O'Hara, bronze winner and about five feet four, skinny to a fault rushed to the door to a storage room, hiding and clutching her chest at the heat rising, since the physical test was taken that way, she could not risk anything else and she could not miss this opportunity either.
Asking another woman to fill her sample cup for her would be perilous as she had been disclosed in front of the world.
Now those strange bodyguards were after her and she had nowhere to run but many places to hide. She crouched and clutched her head sobbing_I can't lose this, I can't, please god.
Her hand brushed over the gaming equipment with wires hanging about, she marched over the wires to a red door and heard voices seeing their silhouettes through the jagged glass pane.
There was a light burning behind the first silhouette and the other sat down unshaken, she feared he_by the voice_ was talking to a dead man or a dummy.
The second man stood up by the next door and flapped a hand possibly in annoyance, going out the door. She crouched when the first man turned promptly and hunkered back.
Wait, doesn't this place have security cameras?_ She tiptoed to the other door and opened it carefully peering outside for any guards.
She muffled at the heavy strike on the back of her head and she dropped in his arms unconscious as he drew her back.
...
Kane Huxley rubbed his palms maniacally and raked his hair in place_ That ought to keep them occupied.
Walking to the main centre where there were panels with a virtual audience on them watching him, he waved as they cheered and he feigned a solemn look when the officials arrived with concern.
"I can't find them anywhere." He reported and two tapped his back.
Sebastian cuffed his cufflinks and Kane's eyes roved to the stain of blood on his white sleeve. He looked up.
"It's kinda stuffy in here," He said brushing his forehead with a kerchief.
Because of the hefty men on each side, he was circumspect of his movements, following them through the bright hallway with beige columns followed by monuments, several of them and Sebastian opened the brown metal door with a biometric scan.
It whiffed and opened sliding into the wall
to behold a bluish glow inside with cables and cradles. Kane walked into the dark sides with people looking into their monitors talking and he spun at the gallery of spectators both virtual and physical working on screens.
He glanced at Eve in a cradle wearing a white overall with the straps under her boots, a mask was on top of her nose where she laid and he stopped to see the men dragging Guy and Donnie into their cradles. They were drenched and he swallowed stepping backwards.
"You didn't think we were blind, did you?" Sebastian asked with a mocking stare and flipped the tablet to show a video of himself locking the door and leaving.
And Eve stole her own samples from the lab running outside into a hall with tan-coloured tiles and a white roof and two paths and a drowning tape that was hard to watch. He worked his jaw.
"Okay, I'm going. I'm going!!" Bones said raising his hands and spinning in his cradle laying back.
"What kind of sick game is this?" Kane protested glaring at him; He knew he had a fighting chance, he had to get out fast and He punched Sebastian, Kane speared the other man and thrust himself up into a run, the other guards arrived punching him in several places.
Kane groaned struggling when they pushed his head down. His eyes rolled back to Sebastian huffing and wiping his bloody lip.
Something was demeaning about his eyes. He adjusted his cufflinks again.
"My friend, this...is the Game of Legends. Induce him."
"No wait...no, I've got a family_" He struggled when a veiled guard lifted a syringe and his screams tore through the large hall afterwards.
