When he opens the gate, he saw his father, he got mad and he suddenly slammed to close it.
"Hey, Larry-
His father opens it and he entered but larry was about to go inside of their house. His father holds his hands and he stop. He glared at him and he let go his hands.
"Larry, please.. hear me out. " His father said, begging with his knees.
His mother went out to look what's happening outside and she saw her husband. "Miguel, why are you here? " She said.
"Can you hear me out-
"Walk away! go away, Leave us alone.. and don't come back!" Larry shouts. "we are both happy now without you."
His father held his hands again and he kneeled. "Please, forgive me. I j-just-
he took his father hands aggressively on his feet. "Don't ever come back here. " He yelled and he about to go inside.
His father gave the huge money to his wife. "Take this, this will be my help as a father.. it's Christmas, he will be happy-
Larry turned around after he heard it. He took the money from his mother's hand and he thrown it on his father. "We don't need your money!" He exclaimed. "Let's go inside, mom." He said, holding his mom's hand and they leave his father outside.
He slammed closed the door and his father hops on his car and drove away with tears in his eyes.
Larry and his mom sat in front of their food. "Don't worry and don't mind him, we can be happy even without him." Larry said to his mom and he immediately hugged her. All his mom can do is cry, but he gave comfort.

"3.. 2.. 1.. merry Christmas mom, sis!" Sam said to them. He smiled widely and he greeted his family.
They hugged each other and they enjoy the season. His mom went to her room and look at her husbands picture. "It's been 7 years I didn't hold you, I miss your smile, I miss how clingy you are and I miss how you threatened me so good. I love you and I miss you." She said, feeling the tears on her eyes as she hugs the picture frame. Sam outside was heard all his mother said and he sheds tears. "I miss you dad." He said in his mind feeling the presence through the cold wind.
Sam went to his room and he keeps the pick of guitar on his wallet, he stare on it as he laying down on his bed.
Larry and his mom enjoyed the Christmas by forgetting all the bad and lucky days that they had. He holds his mom's hand without hesitation. "Mom, I'll never leave you. We will grow old together, I'll never abandon you, I love you." He said and he kissed his mom's forehead.
"I love you too son." She replied with a smile on her face.
After the Christmas, Larry went to his job and his work again. He was guarding and serving the store, so minds to throw some garbages outside. when he about to get inside and someone grabs him aggressively.
"We're lucky now, boy!.. this is our Christmas gift for you." The boss said and he has thrown some suddenly punch on larry's stomach.
he feel on the floor as holding his stomach but he stood up to fight him back, He thrown hard punches and the three boys knocked down. "Do you think you will beat me to death?" He said and he smirked.
The boss took the knife in his pocket and he pointed it on Larry. "Try me, I'll kill you." He said.
He runs faster towards larry but Larry got avoids the knife and he got a little cut on his arm. He punched the boss in the nose and he got nosebleed. They summon his boys to step back as he saw the blood on his hand that he touch his nose.
"I thought you all brave?!" Larry yelled at them. The boss got angry and he shouts, "we will come back to kill you!"
Larry went back to the convenience store to heal his cut on his arm. "Shit, that stinks."He said as he cleans the wound.
Sam was still lying on his bed, not trying to get up and didn't help his mother. "I'm tired, so very tired!" He said to himself. Suddenly his door open. "Go inside and help me clean the mess! You very stubborn." His mom yelled at him and she go back outside.
He stood up lazily and he lied again on his bed.
"If you're not going to get up there I'll kill you!." His mom yelled. He immediately stood up and he went outside.
After Sam helps his mom for an household chores, he went outside and he took his bike. "I'm going for a walk!" He said. His mom run outside with a broom and she replied, "go home early!"
he just waves his hands at his mom while he was biking to go to another city. He went to the cross street and he entered the convenience store to buy some ice cream. After he took it and pay for it, he notices that the workers aren't larry.
"by any chance, do you know Larry? He's not here?" He asks for the boy who replace Larry earlier.
The boy look at him as he puts the ice cream and the soda on the plastic, "He's not here, he asked our manager to get a day off.. and I don't know why." He replied to Sam and he handed the plastic bag to him.
"Thank you." Sam said as he took the plastic bag on that boy's hand, When he went out of the store, he got confused as he took the ice cream inside the plastic bag and he eats it. "That is not my problem either... I'm going home now and I'm going to do so much stuff." He said himself as he licks the ice cream, he hops on his bike and he pedal to run the wheel.
A minute later, he went to Larry's house and he didn't go directly to his house. he knocks the gate and larry's mom open it.
"Hello, is Larry here?" He asks.
she got startled that it was sam. "You're here, what brings you here?" She said.
He smiles at her and he asks, "have you seen Larry?" She got confused and she replied, "Yes, he went here earlier but he goes outside immediately."
Sam got confused and he frowned, "What's the reason?" He asks.
"I don't know too, but I saw him holding the baseball bat, walking outside of our house." she replied.
Sam got startled and he got paranoid. "Auntie, do what you want, but don't go outside, make sure to secure yourself inside." He said as his trembling.
Larry's mom got confused and she asks. "Why? What's happening?"
Sam didn't what to do after hearing Larry's holding the baseball bat after going outside, he about to run but he came back to her. "Where did Larry go direction?" He asks and he hops on his bike.
She pointed at the right] path and he immediately runs there with his bike. Larry's mom got confused. Sam was searching all the narrow corner of the street, but he hasn't seen anything fighting. After half an hour of searching, he saw noises that came from the children, he followed it and finally he saw Larry. He gets off on his bike and he came over.
"What are you doing here?" He asks Larry. Larry turned around and he saw sam.
"I'm going to take back your question. Why are you here?" Larry asks as he frowned.
"Where's the baseball bat that your mother told me that you held before you go outside from your room!" Sam exclaimed.
The children got confused and they hide in Larry's back. "Who is he, uncle Larry?" The little kid asks. Larry kneeled at him and he replied with a smile, "go back to your houses now, we will play next time."
The children quickly run goes to their houses. he stood up and he grabs Sam's hand. "Hey! Where you take me?" Sam yelled.
He gently slammed sams at the wall and he corner him as he looks to those tiny eyes.
"What are you doing?" Sam asks as he getting awkward.
"How about you, what's gotten into you?"
he took off Larry's hand on him and he fixed his shirt while glaring. "I kept searching for you, because I thought you're in trouble again." He replied.
Larry frowned and he asks, "How did you know-
"Your mom told me earlier, jeez.. I repeated this twice. " Sam rolled his eyes.
"What does my mom say? " Larry asks.
Sam sigh again as a tired goat. "She said, you hold a baseball bat before going outside. " He replied.
"This baseball bat?.. Are you kidding me? It's a toy. I used this if I played as children here." as showing the baseball bat.
Sam slaps his left arm that Larry has wound on it.
"Ouch! That's hurt." He shouts and hold his arm.
Sam got startled and he immediately looks at it. "Why? What's wrong? Something happened? Let me see it." He said, trembling and worrying about Larry. He roll larry's sleeve and he saw a cut on his arm.
"What happen to you? Who make this?" He asks as he choked.
Larry took off sam's hand and he closes his sleeve. "I'm not gonna die from this, this is just a cu-
"You will tell me or I'll add more you like that? " Sam threatened him.
"What? Why would I tell you-
Sam glared at him like a hungry lion. "Ok, I'll tell you.. let's go there." Larry said, he held Sam's shoulder and they walk to the bench near at the river.
"So? What happened?" Sam asks as he sipping his soda.
"The dudes was back and they have beaten me up earlier, but-
Sam split his drinking out of his mouth. "What? Did they what?! " he exclaimed.
Larry sigh and he just rolled his eyes. "Can you finish my sentence? " He asks.
"Yes, go on. " Sam replied and he sip his soda again.
"So.. they went back and beaten me-
"Further, that last one." Sam suggested as he sips his soda.
Larry sigh and he just controlled his temper. "He was about to stab me with his knife, but I avoided it and I punched him.. am I cool, aren't I?" Larry said.
Sam sipped his soda loudly until he had finished it . "That's all? What a boring stor-
Suddenly, Larry stood up and he doesn't mind sam. "Hey! Wait me up! " Sam shouts.
he runs faster and sam followed him.
"Chase me if you can. " Larry shouts, smiling, teasing him.
Sam runs quickly until he chased Larry. "This jerk, hey! Stop! Ran out of breath I can't run-
He stops after he heard Sam's gasp. He turned around and he came back to him. "Hey! Are you ok?" He asked, holding sam's both arms.
"I- I.. c- can't... b-
Sam smack his head and he runs quickly. "Chased me if you can! " He shouts.
Larry got mad and he just controlled his temper, he chases sam quickly. "Hey! You stubborn, come back here! I'll beat you up to death! " Larry exclaimed.
Sam turned around at him from afar and he has just shown his funny face to him. "Weak! " He shouts and he laugh.
Larry chases him faster and some run immediately not to be caught.
After they make fun of each other like a coward. They saw some peaceful spot, near the river. They sat on the grass and they talk while sam was cleaning his wound.
"What's your plan for this upcoming new year?"
Larry was looking far and he replied, "I don't think so.. new year is just a normal day for me, no more occasional. Still day for me, have to work, have to raise my mother myself." He replied.
Sam pokes his wound by the cotton stick to stop his drama. "Don't have a new years resolution? You need to have-
"Hey! What do you think are doing?" He asks madly.
"Ouch! What? That's nothing on me, new years change years, but what's happening to me doesn't change at all." He said cut sam's word.
Sam pokes his wound again with the cotton stick.
"Ouch! What's wrong with you? You kept poking my wound, it's hurt.. dude let me do it, you just wasting time." He said as he looks mad.
"Stop that drama.. here, it's done.. I cleaned it so that germs won't spread." He replied while closing the ointment. Larry took the cigarette and he flame on it, but sam took it from his mouth and he broke it.
"Hey! What do you think are doing?" He asks.
"Don't smoke in front of me, I have asthma." Sam replied and he has thrown the broken cigarette in the water.
"Then, go back to your house. I just want to be a-
"And I don't like people who smoke. " He said cut Larry's word.
Larry sigh and he thrown a pebble to the water.
Sam laid down on the grass, he looks at the blue sky without sunlight. "Jeez, I just wanted to die. " he jokingly said and larry startled and he looks at him. "What? What are you talking about? " He asks, confused.
Sam smiles like an idiot and he replied, "Why? That's you want, right? To be dying and never born again."
Larry laid down besides him and look at the sky, he put his two arms behind his head. "Jeez, want to die.. but I have an obligation to raise my mom by my own hands." He replied
Sam looks at him and he seriously confused. "Does you don't have a father?" Sam asks as he looks at him.
"That jerk? It's ridiculous.. he can't raise me with my mom, he left us. He make my mom fool and go out with another girl. My brother died because of him, my bro want to chase him and beg not to leave us, that jerk, pushes my brother in the middle of the road, but suddenly an car hit him. My mother was full of blood, holding his eldest son to the hospital and me were just muted, can't recover of what happened, sitting on the corner and trembling that day.. I'm miss my brother so much." Larry explain it to him and he sheds of tears.
Sam's tears are starting to come out, but he wiped it quickly, he gets up and he looks at Larry. "I'm sorry for asking that. I didn't know that's you-
he get up and he smiled. "It's nothing.. that's can't hurt me anymore, I'm a strong one now because of him I can stand on my own feet. " He said as he wipes his tears, but kept feeling it on his cheeks.
Sam immediately hugged him tight and he pats Larry's back to give him a comfort. "It's okay to cry out loud.. it's okay to pour it out, you can lean on me. cry out, I'm here, you need to be worried and you don't need to felt sorry." Sam said as he tears secretly falling to his cheeks but he just wiping it. Larry cried out loud on sam's arms besides the river while sam still gives a comfort and warmth hugged to him. "its ok. cry it loud."
