As men, there are various wants and desires ever-present. At the top of the list, apart from the company of women would have to be piloting mechs, and wielding big guns. Seeing a wall stockpiled with guns of all shapes and sizes, how could his heart not itch?
Glocks, SMGs, MGs, various RPGs, etc. He even saw a huge-ass barrel poking out from under the covers in a corner.
Unfortunately, these weapons are more useful against low-level humans and lower-level beasts. Once a human or beast reaches the 3rd realm, namely the Crysalis or Savage Beast realm respectively; the effect that ordinary ammunition has on them becomes negligible. They can only inflict ordinary flesh wounds.
The ever-present Origin Qi in a Crysalis realm human forms an invisible protective barrier around them, stopping most projectiles and blunt force. As for beasts? Their skins are just too damn tough.
A/N: Chewing is not recommended :)
Of course, modern weapons aren't all useless. A well-aimed RPG can do the job. And as humans are ever greedy, the drive for innovation will never die. Lasers, electromagnetic railguns, nuclear, etc, can also solve some mid to high-level threats. Well, they still lose effect at some juncture.
Normally, those ordinary weapons are given to low-level soldiers or ordinary humans in the Aperture Opening realm to guard cities or strongholds to fend off Ordinary, Wild, and Ferocious beasts.
...
Alfred didn't care about any of that, he just wanted to buss some guns and feel the rush.
"Don't even think about it!" John's voice came out of a speaker near the camera.
Sadly, the young padawan could only smack his lips in dissatisfaction and hide his longing.
He once again picked up the tactical short blade and swung it a few times judging the weight, grip, and feeling. He picked up another in his left hand and dual wield them for a bit.
The ones he selected had a handle length of four and a half inches, a width of one and a half inches, and a soft but scaly texture, clearly made from the scales of some low or mid-level beast. The blades were 7 inches long and 2 inches wide. The blade's edge was serrated and looked like a row of sharp tiny teeth while having a blood groove along the shaft.
These two knives were as black as midnight and looked quite lethal, especially when in the hands of a well seasoned and dangerous assassin.
Alfred fiddled with them for a while, simultaneously asking in his mind 'system, can these be placed in the inventory?'
...
[The host can place any item that is not mechanical or technological into the inventory. Of course, in limited quantities depending on the type of the item]
...
'What about guns battlesuits or mechs?' Alfred was aghast.
...
[What do you think? If you keep relying on such items, how can you grow?]
...
"..."
'You do have a point, but I can just get a special storage item and not be bothered with you!' Alfred quipped.
...
[That's true]
[But aren't you forgetting something?]
...
'What?' Alfred had a bad feeling.
...
[You're broke]
[Well, technically you have 10 silvers :)]
...
"..."
'You're joking, right? I don't think you have the ability to interfere with my spending credits or using spatial equipment. These and you are separate matters.' Alfred denied the reality vehemently.
What would it mean if he couldn't use credits? Or use the items he bought with credits? Wouldn't that be an ascetic life full of misery and struggle?
'I refuse!' He couldn't accept such a life.
...
[I can't stop you from spending credits. But I can stop you from storing the items you bought with credits that weren't earned by you]
[As for spatial equipment. Naturally, if you earned it by yourself then you can use it as freely as you like. Of course on the premise that the items being stored were also earned by you]
[And of course, you can't refuse. Refusal is futile]
[I am almighty]
...
Ignoring the "I am almighty" by the system, Alfred pondered the system's statements seriously.
'So it's not that I can't use credits... I just need to earn them myself. Then with spatial items and storing stuff... I either earn them or buy them with the credits I earn... is that right?' He clarified.
...
[Bingo!]
...
(A/N:See Note below for clarification.)
Understanding his situation, Alfred looked at the pair of short blades in his hands and asked, 'Then what about these? I didn't earn them. Can they be stored in the inventory or spatial equipment?'
...
[They aren't mechanical or technological so they can be stored]
...
'Maybe I should grab some camo suits and bulletproof vest and stuff as well' he thought.
...
[A reminder, the amount of space available in the inventory for "free" combat-related items are limited]
...
"..."
'Yeah yeah, I need to earn it myself, I get it.' Alfred rolled his eyes.

John watched as Alfred left the storehouse with the two short blades, a protective vest, and a jet-black finger-thick rope made from the tendons of some 3rd stage beast that were 7 meters long.
After watching Alfred walkout, John turned to his Lieutenant, Martin before saying, "get him a flexible combat suit made from stage 5 beasts."
"..."
"Understood..."
The Lieutenant was visibly upset.
'Isn't he spoiling him a bit too much? A stage 0 kid with gear from stage 5 beasts? Even the stage 4 Commanders don't have gear like that.'
Although he felt that the Marshall was misappropriating the items, he could only follow orders since the man in question was the master here.
Noticing his dark look, John smiled bitterly and assured him.
"You were also present at his awakening ceremony yesterday, so you should know his importance to The Republic of Oolong in the future. Although we are allied with The Republic of Herpesia to the southwest, we are also too close to the Central Continent directly west of us. Lately, The emperor of Murrica, Emperor Tronald Jean Poutine has been actively invading the western continents of Vault and Aria. Not to mention the Jamaica continent to the north is almost in his back pockets. As the closest continent to his empire, that madman has long been eyeing us like a bald eagle watching its prey. If we weren't strong enough and had strong allies to support us, we would have long been pecked clean. And don't forget the various beasts running rampant on Rivellus at the moment. So it's best if Alfred can mature peacefully. Of course, greenhouse flowers are no good in battle. So these will be his only gifts from me. He will have to grow on his own."
Hearing his Marshall considering the well-being of the entire Republic, Martin saluted solemnly and proudly before going to carry out his orders.
'Seems like I was too narrow-minded. The small man worries about his own lively-hood, while the bigwigs worry about the country. I indeed shouldn't judge the Marshall with my small Bushell.'
To Martin, serving as the Lieutenant of such a Marshall was indeed something to be proud of.

A/N: Important! (Sweat) -_-
This chapter might be a bit confusing, but its necessary, as it outlines the ground rules for self-earning items that the mc must follow. Otherwise, he can just be given items for free without limitations, and that would hinder his growth. Of course, he can get free items, but they will not be supported by the system.
Self-earned can be by either: Selling, providing a service, stealing, killing and looting, etc.
A rule of thumb for the system's way of storing items in spatial equipment and inventory is:
1. Anything mechanical or technological can not be put into the inventory no matter what. Whether they are self-earned or given as freebies. Of course items like clothes, food, and the like are only allowed in the inventory in limited quantities! I.e. Mc can't store a million pairs of clothes in it.
2. To store such items, the MC must use storage/spatial equipment.
3. However, storage/spatial equipment comes with the limitation of self-earning stuff. That is, let's say his father gives him a storage ring for no reason at all, then it becomes a decoration since he didn't do anything to earn it. Useless!
4. When he does earn his own storage ring, then it becomes an extension to his inventory. Meaning he can freely put anything non-mechanical or non-technological into it. If he wants to store mechanical or technological gadgetry in his "self-earned" storage ring, then those gadgets must be self-earned.
It might be a bit confusing, but once again, it's really necessary.
