Chapter 63 - Chapter 62: Eyes and….. Spears

Sharing memories was an old art. One dominated by WerrWolves for the most part. Grey Lions got too big and monstrous for the idea of clawing a spine to do anything but paralyze. Or fail to get past the wall of muscle.

So their they all stood. Hoping for the best. Marco demanded it as Scott stood over Isaac. Their least Synthesized Alpha. Their most docile apex predator.

A pain in the ass. A pacifist with extra steps lately. If Scott kept on as he was by the time they made it to the bank he'd be another dead Alpha.

"If you keep looking at Scott like that, they really won't want yo—" Erica started.

"Shut up."

"Ok."

They all watched the two. The muscles in Marco's neck and traps felt tight as tungsten wires.

"Ok." Scott placed a hand on Isaac's shoulder and the Beta jumped.

Stiles smiled and pointed him out to Derek before facing a mean mug that rivaled Marco himself.

"Just relax." Scott explained, "You've been in some of the toughest fights this place has ever seen. It's just a stab. In and out."

Isaac looked up at him, the bags sat under his eyes like thick grey makeup, "You think THAT is what I'm afraid of…? I just don't want to go back there…. I c—"

"Don't say that. Can't means won't." Scott cut Isaac short, "You did it once. And it only gets worse if you don't do it now. You can make us win. Just let me see what you saw."

Isaac ran his hands over his face and sat up, "…..Hurry. P-please."

Scott placed himself behind Isaac and sent his claws into the back of his neck.

The faintest flesh tearing sound bounced around the walls of the factory building. Or just Marco's brain.

The two went stiff. Scott was suddenly in another world. Listening to Marco demand Isaac relay what he was seeing.

"I-I'm…. We're in that b-bank…. The ones the Alpha's told you..."

Indeed they were. Scott felt like a ghost in the wind. No muscle no flesh no bone. A somber spectator in a world of hazy steel walls and blood.

"Keep talking."

"I-I'm….. im hiding. I'm…. We can smell them! They're everywhere…."

The moment Isaac said it, his world gained color. Suddenly, Scott could smell the blood sweat and fear that dripped off the metal and brick walls. He could hear the click clack of an animals claws. He could feel the temperature pick up everytime one of them exhale—

Something roared as they headed up a flight of stairs. An inhuman powerful wailing sound.

"Something's angry…. R-roaring…"

"Do you recognize it?" Marco pressed.

They reached the top steps and hunkered down below a table, peering down at the bottom floor through the spaces in the guard rail.

"DO YOU!?"

"N-no!….."

They found shadows moving like serpents at a round doorway, joined by voices…. And shapes. Massive hulking creatures with fur like knives and eyes like jewels.

"Your son….. I'm afraid I'm more worried about the damage he's done on the outside than what's been done to us in here…. Hehe.."

"D-Deaton's inside…. He's speaking to a woman." Isaac relayed to the outside world.

As soon as Scott and Isaac heard the voice, the memory pressed on. They moved closer, tip toeing across the polished old tile floor to get to an angle where they could see inside the vault. See who all was taken.

Inch… inch…—

The click clack of claws followed them like a heartbeat. Growing faster.

They reached an angle where they could see inside.

"…..BOYD!" Isaac yelled, "I see Boyd…. He's with Deaton… and two…..oh sh—"

The click clack of claws stopped. Scott and Isaac looked up in their shared memory to find a horrific existence across the upper floor. All that separated them was open space.

The beast crouched, absorbing the shadows and going near invisible. Once a woman as tall as two men with legs strapped in cord-like muscle and an evil wolffish snout. The next moment she was a blur.

"WHA—" Scott and Stiles disconnected in a flinching panic.

Stunned for a moment, they looked around in silence. Everyone was suiting up to varying degrees. Body armor. Kevlar. Silver swords, spears, chains.

Marco tossed gear at them.

"Good job, Scott. We got what we needed including where we enter. Suit up and get ready. We leave when the moon rises."

Scott looked at Isaac, "Who was the other woman?"

Isaac shrugged.
