The others were still in a stunned state. The younger ones, though, were more than happy to have their share of the blood.
They were happily sipping away.
Nicolai smirked, watching their pure joy.
"e-elder... I don't think it's a good idea," Raven came up to him. "we should not show ourselves too much. We are more than enough to attack the whole arctic wolf pack. With enough explosives, we can take out the alpha king and his comrades. We don't need any more vampires,"
Nico peered at him. "What is the purpose of attacking the alpha king?"
"To seek revenge. We have to take him out," he said as a matter of fact.
"good, good. Anything else?"
Raven and Matt both glanced at each other and shook their heads.
Nicolai sighed. These young vampires did not understand what he was trying to achieve. His goal was not just to destroy the alpha king but also to restore the vampire's status in this world. If it's by attacking and killing werewolves, he would gladly do it.
It was ironic.
The werewolves were in the same situation they were in, under the control of vampires, constantly watched. Who knew they might have even been bullied. That was the reason the uprising took place.
He wished to achieve another uprising.
But if he could he wanted to take the peaceful route.
All of this depends on the alpha king.
"Tell me Raven. When did you know you were 'special?' What were you doing before joining this group?"
"I.. I was ten when I started to show symptoms of a vampire... I hid in the woods." Raven stammered.
"What will they do to vampires in your village?"
"They will burn them alive,"
Nico closed his eyes in pain. "In this world, in some corner near us, there is a vampire subjected to this cruelty. He might not be as lucky as you and me. That person might die if we don't help him. Remember this Raven, Our goal is not just to take out alpha king but also to reestablish our vampire kind while the werewolves are in disarray."
Matt just peered at him. "But it's too risky. With extra mouths to feed, we won't be able to take care of ourselves,"
"I'll take charge of food. Don't worry. I have my ways. Even if I have to work a human job, I will put food on our table."
Both Matt and Raven nodded silently.
"Come on, drink up. We have a long day ahead."'
That night Nico felt like he had a reason to live again. He peered out the window at the dark woods. 'Dad... you watching from up there right? I will achieve my purpose here...'
The only regret he had now was that both rue and his father refused to share their secret.
Back then, they were in such a hurry to run away from the werewolves that they did not have time to have a proper talk.
Now it was all too late.
'That secret has disappeared long back..'
After drinking their share of blood, the younger vampires all retired for the day. It was a very small hut and everyone huddled together in a dry corner.
Nicolai also joined them.
"Elder..." a small voice whispered next to him.
The little blond kid hunter hugged his waist.
"What is it?"
"Is the alpha king very powerful? Can you defeat him?"
"I think so.....but we can definitely beat him,"
"Yeah~... I'm happy you came to us elder...you made my tummy full and you are a warm person," he whispered sleepily.
"Sleep tight... every day from now you will have a full tummy. We won't have scarcity of food anymore." he patted his head softly.
Suddenly his neck started to itch once again. Nico secretly scratched at it. but the more he touched it, the itchier it became.
It was unbearable.
Not just the itchiness but also the anguish that came with it.
Tears flowed down involuntarily as he remembered his mate.
'No.. I can't cry.. I have to be strong.' He hurriedly wiped his tears. He desperately needed a distraction.
'Think of another topic.... oh alpha king.. How am I going to kill him? do I just go Rambo on him or should I stab him in the heart villainously,'
Nico had no clue how powerful the alpha was. Usually werewolf alpha have considerable powers. Not only because of their 'alpha dominance' but also because of the powerful pack standing behind them.
In the alpha king's case, the whole werewolf kind is behind him following his orders.
He still had no clue how powerful the alpha king's dominance will be. He was hella powerful...
'Taking him down will be hard. But it's doable. We just need powerful firearms,'
Nico's eyes shot open. He knew exactly where to find them, but he was still not sure if those secretive bunkers would still exist.
Back then when the whole rumor about the alpha king spread around the vampires started to panic. They started to prepare for the war. In several locations, they build small bunkers and stored a lot of guns explosives, and food rations. These bunkers were also made bomb-proof.
'I'm not sure if it's time proof though...'
It has been thousand years. They would be in a rough shape or... perhaps disappeared in time.
