Alyssa's pov ...
Tomorrow came, but death was a no show.
The end I had been eagerly waiting and hoping for never did come.
Infact the physical torture that had been planned for me didn't come by morning,
I just felt totally ignored and abandoned.
I drifted in and out of a panicked sleep state.
Frequently jolting awake, by screaming muscles, or the memory of my father's agonizing screams and my mother's pain.
It was like I was reliving it all over and over again.
I had slowly become delusional.
The dingy tiny cell, felt like it was closing in on me,
The constant darkness more than enough torture in itself.
The sores on my body and the broken bones I got from the merciless beating, which was orchestrated and supervised by the Luna couldn't heal, because of the wolfsbane in my system.
The day bled into night and the night into morning. Yet, Still nothing.
I had no other option than to wait and hope that, they hadn't forgotten all about me.
I hadn't eaten in days, but I was more desperate for death.
It would be the last show of kindness they can afford me.
Finally a guard came in, but all he did was take away the ratty blanket I usually cover up with and remove my utility bucket.
I knew I smelt of excrete and decaying flesh. But I could do nothing about it, I'd already gotten accustomed to the smell.
Reign was still unable to communicate with me, because they still give me my daily dose of wolfsbane.
I was too tired to cry, but my tears were all I had left.
The injustice of it all, I will take to my grave.
The guard returned with my utility bucket. But not my blanket.
But all I want from him is my execution date.
"Has my execution be moved up?" I asked.
"I w-was supposed to hit the gallows two days ago.
But I've been here since then, I just don't want to be forgotten here.
I do not want to be left here to rot."
I finished in my croaky hoarse voice.
He laughed loudly, more of a loud cackle than a roaring laughter.
"Stupid little abomination, no one forgot about you.
You would be sentenced first thing in the morning, once the alpha is ready and less busy.
We had an unexpected and unplanned visit from the moon alpha.
Don't worry, you will meet your death as soon as he leaves.
We are just as eager to be rid of you as well." He said, before spitting on my face and making his exit.
"Dirty cow." He said, as he left my cell.
Seb's Pov ...
"Seb, We need to go back to the area around the dungeons."
My wolf demanded of me.
" No, no and no Kraw, there is no way we are going back there."
I told him sternly.
" This is how it usually starts though, we argue about a particular thing then we ignore each other for some time, then have a blow out sometimes, before he gets mad, forces a change and hurts some unsuspecting wolf.
But that is the very last thing I want to happen."
Although lately, my wishes have all turned out to be pipe dreams nothing to write home about.
"Kraw.." I began in a patronizing voice.
It's better to plead with him in this mood, than try to make him see sense.
Whatever he thinks is in the area surrounding the dungeons, is either not there or is long gone.
" We checked that area twice already, there isn't anything there.
Please don't make us go back there again." I pleaded.
"Seb, I don't want to fight with you over this, but we must go back to the area, infact we need to go with at least two different pair of eyes, Alex and maybe the beta of the pack mark."
" But why, what is so special about that scent, I felt nothing .."
"Liar, lair lair, we both felt the tingles." Kraw accused hotly, cutting me off.
" Yeah, it was a flash nothing to beat ourselves up about."
I argued.
Kraw sighed loudly.
Raising my heckles up.
"Kraw?"
"Hmmmmnn" he answered.
" Is this about our mate?" I asked him.
" No, it's not." He denied hotly.
" Fine, I'll just like to remind you of your promise. I take the lead and make the decisions when it comes to our mate.
So if this is about our mate you need to tell me now, so we can deal with it, accordingly." I warned .
" No it's, not." He denied again.
"At least I don't think it is." He added.
" Then tell me what you think it is, cause I don't understand your sudden obsession with that area of this pack." I stressed.
" Well, I really don't know why.
But, I have this sudden compulsion to go there.
I feel like I forgot something there and when we get there I feel like I am missing something. It's all confusing, even for me right now, but I know better than to ignore stuffs like that." He said glumly.
"Ok, we would do this on one condition." I stated.
" whattt ?" He prompted.
" We go to bed immediately we are done. No whining, no more patrols and no more after midnight snack for you, until we get home." I stated.
" You can't just cut it all off like that till we get home, what if I get restless?" He asked.
"Don't care." I told him bluntly.
" This isn't fair. It's not like you're tired. You just want to punish me."
" No, punishing you isn't my aim.
I just want to be or feel a little normal. Get some sleep and wake up in the morning like a human.
If that's alright with you." I said.
" Fine, you get your wish and I get mine." He said, finally agreeing to my conditions, after considering it for a moment.
"Alex, get the beta mark, both of you will be joining me for a run tonight." I ordered my beta in mind link.
"What?!! no, I have nothing to do with whatever he's done , or whatever the reason is, i'll like to go to bed. Please, leave me out of those. I value my sleep." He said begging to be let out of the wild goose chase Kraw was about to take us on.
"Be ready in an hour." I told him, completing ignoring him.
The party was still raging on, as I took my leave. Werewolves love to party, it's no surprise this one is still going strong.
Our parties are legendary even the humans know this, we can party for hours unend.
When I got back to my room, I took off my clothes and lay on naked on the bed.
The tingles of earlier in the day by the dungeons flashed through my mind.
I sighed out, the last thing I wanted is to think of things I can't explain. Then I got on my laptop and began to do some work.
At exactly an hour later, I put on a pair of green basketball shorts and a green singleton, then put on an unbuttoned t-shirt.
Alex and beta mark were both waiting for me, by the time I emerged from a side door of the pack house.
"Moon alpha." Mark greeted as I walked past him and Alex.
I didn't respond, not because I didn't want to or I was angry with the poor guy, who was nervous as hell.
Kraw had already taken control, in his eagerness to get to the dungeon and Mark's greeting was of no importance to us.
The beta was tagging along for only one reason, and that would be to speak to me about rouges.
When we got to the edge of the forest, we took off our clothes, kept them in a neat pile and took off into the night.
I led and they followed.
A while later, I slowed down and shook out my shiny black fur. Stopping just before the area of interest to me. Kraw turned to Marks smaller wolf and asked in mindlink.
" Mark, has the pack had any rogue problem recently?"
"No alpha?"He answered but still seemed too nervous for his own good.
"Okay how about one straying into the pack?" I asked again.
" No not at all." He replied.
This time he seemed jumpy, but I'd gotten the answers I needed.
"Kraw, what exactly are we looking for?"
Alex asked.
"Not sure Alex, but I'll know when I see it."
Kraw began to investigate again, his snout very close to the forest floor.
As he checked the area thoroughly, moving inch by inch, with the snout.
We did this together making sure there was no part of the forest around the dungeon, we had not thoroughly checked.
The worst part is, now that i have brought in two wolves to check it out with me,
The flash of tingles I'd felt earlier on and the scent I'd also caught , seemed to have suddenly disappeared.
"Was i wrong all along, Was Kraw wrong?
That never happens.(Kraw being wrong).
Were the feeling and the scent a figment of our imagination?" I pondered in my mind.
