The night was still young, the moon in the sky shone brightly upon the Dark River Pack wolves. It was one of the best nights they could ever ask for. Maybe that was why Cassie postponed asking Asher what bothered him.
After Luna River confirmed things didn't take a turn, she went outside to recheck that the food was arranged well on the table so that everyone would serve themselves well.
Cassie waved at Asher to get his attention, he was outside Harold's door, alone.
Delta Francis couldn't be there for him. He couldn't leave the borders unattended and since he didn't know what time exactly Cassie and Beta Jean would return from the alphas' meeting, he had to let Livia handle their son.
Unusually, Livia said he couldn't show. It didn't bother Harold since Asher was there for him.
"Hey," Cassie whispered.
(Scream, I can hear you.) Harold said.
