"Uwaah!". Jumping out of dreamland, a series of stars appearing on my eyes, before diminishing themselves while i gather my self. (Augh, My head~)
*chirp chirp chirp*
I raise the hand where i knew to be the site of the bite wound above me. (*sighs* It's not there... Am i actually traumatized out of my dream?
That dream, heck was that all about? ... No, i wouldn't describe it as Just a Dream, it is something else more vague, it's more like a memory so vivid, i can actually feel the pain ... felt like i've experienced this before ... What's inside that message? ... I'll ask father if something from my dream existed here, maybe it'll lead me to some good information). Still feeling drowsy, i try to wake myself up from bed.
I try to get out of bed, but my legs are binded by her's. (The heck? Am i supposed to be the one to wake her up, now?
Roles reversed, duty served? No way i'll let her have that, that's her job, God's Sake)
Closing on her face, directing my mouth to her ears. " (low-voice) Miss. Miss Elena? Missus, wakey-wakey~!"
"Mmhm~, that's, *snores*, Unacceptable~". Following this is her hugging, quite tense at that. (What the? The way her hands are holding me is like i'm her personal hugging pillow ... I'm being strangled)
Patting her arms, struggling to breathe in. "Ugh, Miss? It's morning already so uh..."
" *groans* Mmhm~ oh little lambs... i'll be...". Sleeptalking, that's cute of her but thing is right now she's tightening her arms, suffocating me more and more.
(Eh? Wait wait wait!)
"Gehek! Missus Elena! Let go off me!". Trying to break free by punching her face, Not Effective. (I Hate Being A Child!)
As a last ditch effort, i bite her arms. (Come On, Come On! Won't be a joke if i die of being hugged! AGH!)
My conciousness fading in, frustrated that nothing worked my way since i came to this world. "KHH! No!". Clawing and biting her arm, i did my best but my conciousness is slowly getting out.
"Hmm? Oww oww, OWW! What was going... On? ". Her messy hair sways onto my face, obscuring my vision from seeing her reaction.
"Hey. Avake yhet, mishus?". Talking through her hair, with the voice a little muffled.
The view is restored, greeted by her sleepy face. "Oh! Young Master Arlan! Sorry, sorry!". Noticing on what's the ruckus is in the morning, she released me from her locking arms.
I grip my neck, breathing in and out the oxygen that was pent up inside. " *Cough, Cough*
Ha~ah, maybe sleeping with you is no good afterall, so can you go back sleep to your room like always?"
Looking at her pouting face, seems like she's a little sad over this. "... Nope! You promised me that you'll accept any possible punishment, after all!"
(I did, so long as i'm alive and That Does Not Include My Burial)
"Hmm... What was it that i hugged, again?... Oh yeah!
Actually, i just had a nice dream really, so i was touching some kind of-"
Eyebrows twitching, i don't want to hear what it is. "Yes yes, can we go to the bath?
I want to go see father off earlier"
(Lucky you 'cause i can already guess what these 'little lambs' is!)
"Just a moment. Ngh!". Stretching her neck, arms and back while letting out moans and other 'noises'.
(Even with her pajamas, her body figure is just too hard for me to swat off. Her chests, her waistline, her arms, her hair, her face, her neck, Everything about it is just too stimulating in the morning.
*gulps* Can't let her do this every morning, at least i need to tell her to sleep at the Other Bed!)
" *sighs* Alright then, let's go Young Master~". Opening the door, looking at me to go out first.
(... A~ah, Damn your carefree personality and voluptuos body!
Is she even a housemaid anymore?
I just hope she won't keep this attitude outside the house.
Ah, Sara~! Where could you be?!)
. . . Fiona's Point of View. . .
Steam coming out of a plate, full of meats and vegetables ready for the serving.
Alongside them, spoons and forks and water cups, all for their breakfast.
(Elena wasn't in her room this morning, so i thought she's outside but turns out she's alongside our little boy.
Quite doting, yes, but if only i can get more of these done earlier.
I need to go see her for this matter). Wearing off the apron after putting down the cooks, making sure my hands are clean after washing them, i walk up to Garvin's room.
Opening the door, slowly, there's my husband reading on some books and taking notes on some of his own.
His room have similar bookshelves for his materials in which some old scrolls and lost records of the past, 2 work tables on the opposite of these walls alongside some Mana-dependant desk lamp in which he can charge them on top of the tables, and some homemade decorations from my Earthen magic like a miniature Light Tree and World Tree charms hanging on said lamps. (Ehe, he still keeps them cleaned as ever without me around)
Locking him with my arms, closing over his shoulder while looking at him writing. "De~ar. It's munchtime, and you still working this early?"
Stopping his hands, tapping the table with his pen on after. *Taps* "A little bit on that. Just a few adjustments where i thought could be best described as an Afterbed's Afterthoughts". Stern look on his slerp deprived face and he is still tapping the table.
I kisses him on the cheek as a morning charm, before heading out of his room. " *kisses* OK, just don't take too long at it. I'll go see what they're up to now, later~"
"Alright, see you on the dinner table". I close the door as i hear his tapping stops. ( *sighs* We didn't have many family quality time as often, these days. Still a long way before these joint session ends). Towards our little boy Arlan's room, opening the door slowly and peeking inside.
"Yoohoo, awake yet, you two?". Looking inside, both of them nowhere to be found.
I closes the door, walking past Elena's room that was used to be for our firstborn. (Too bad she can't see her brother before going, could've been a motivator for her to come back home)
" (muffled) UWAAH!! It's Cold, Miss Elena!". A shout resembling the voice of a little boy came from the bathroom which breaks me out of my thoughts.
" (muffled) I am so sorry, Young Master. I'll turn it up"
(She's still bathing with Arlan's?
Oh well, i can go eat with Garv with the other two following later)
" (muffled) OWIE!! It's Hot, Miss Elena! MO-..."
(Hmm? Did i just hear him being silenced?
Alright, i'll check up on how Arlan's body is- I mean, warn Elena of her extreme behaviour lately...). I sneak onto the bathroom, closing on them and starts to eavesdrop on their conversations.
"... but i don't have anymore interesting books to read, Missus Elena!". I hear him with a defeated tone.
"No means no, Young Master!
You're still 4 and to go to the city for little kids like you is dangerous!
Even if i escort you, who will look out for the house?
There could be bad people robbing our house if i'm not here, Young Master"
(Mmm... I thought she's just going to accept his demands but, she's right about this)
"Hmmph!
If that's how it is, i want a tablet like father's and mother's!"
(Fueeh? He knows what they are? Some of my colleagues still calls them 'Divine Book', i'm guessing he's still learning when we're not around)
"Haah, it's still early in the morning and you're demanding something unreasonable again~"
(Again? Does it means that our boy's always telling her about what he wants All the time? Sounds like our boy.
I had enough, i'll just go eat with Garvin). I walk out towards the exit.
"Say, Missus Elena. What is Aeon?"
Halted when i hear him saying that, some question gather up within me. (... How does he know of that? Did he look at Garvin's tablet when it boots up and Read the words that came out on display?). I closes on them again.
"Oh well, it's a company that is currently developing in the country with abundant of resources both in materials and human resources and the technology we have around us now is all thanks to them!"
Facepalming, unbelievably because of her sayings. (Ugh, that's a whole load of information where even our first one doesn't understand even until now!
I know that both Me and Garv told her we encouraged her to keep at it not too long ago but to even have it go to this extend?
I'll, just warn her not go on about this any furthe-)
"Missus, is there something they have like a Device to Tame Dragons?"
As i hear that sentence, sounds that was in the pasts now is entering my mind again. (... Device... Tame... Dragons...)
... My body feels sloppy and heavy, my legs gave in and i try my best to not lose my standing for a moment.
'... ~ -ook out for the poisons! They're coming this way! ~' . I cover my ears upon hearing someone's voice, but my head starts nauseating.
"Oh... That's... uh... I guess?
I don't always keep up with the latest news these days?
Anyways! It's time for you to catch up for breakfast!
Here, let me dry you off with the towel i've warmed up"
(. . . That... can't be right. . .
Why does he know that?
I'm sure i kept Garv to shut his mouth from telling anyone!
And yet our little 4 years old kid knows something about 'that'?!
Owh, my head. I need to take a seat). Exiting the bathroom, with my hands on my head and ears.
*door closes*
' ~ ... shouldn't have been here ... Just why is this happening! ~ '. Gritting my teeth, i walk to the living room to take a seat, yet i can't put peace to the voices in my head.
Walking to the living room, where i spotted some of the sofas and rests myself there. (Ugh, i need to take a rest)
' ~ ... is all our doings, might as well have it at them! ~ '
I hold my head down, with my hazy thoughts staying unrest. (Yes, maybe a day off is fine.
I'm just stressed, that's all)
' ~ Nothing we do can mend what is now lost, aside from living on ~'. Visions blur out the far objects, and what i hear between reality and hallucination blurs.
(But I... Just... Need to... NGH. No, the image of that day! No, nonono)
' ~ Carry our wills, even in death, Fiona ~ '. A creeping sense of regret crawl up on my foot, as my mind tumble down on the sofa.
(I can't, not again! No No No No No!)
"Miss Fiona?". A womanly voice from behind my back, that of Elena's.
In her maid attire, as graceful as ever, having a smile on her face. "Why are you not having breakfast with the others?
Young Master Arlan just ran off to the dining room, so i thought...". I look up to her, eyes watery with tears.
"...! Are you alright, Miss Fiona?!
You look pale, i think you should take a rest from the academy!". Noticing my condition in the morning, she sits besides me and caresses me.
I want to tell her something, my throats a little hung up, making it unable to say them out loud. " (faint) Elena. . . Can you take me to your room?
I . . . Need to . . .". I feel my eyes shutting, and my body falling.
In a sudden, it was stopped. "I'll take you there, Madam, tell me what's wrong!". Being guided by Elena, to any place where it's better than being alone.
Tearing out my eyeballs, entering the subconcious hell i've participated alongside the others into. ". . . *sniffs*. . . I... Can't see them in the face *hicc*... I'm responsible... for the screams and the sufferings... i've caused all of it ... all of... it . . . *sobs* "
. . .
Out of the bath, shriveling of how discouraged i am from Elena's scolding. (*Sneezes*. Aah, can't wait to tell father on my dream after the 'accidents' i've been having around Elena lately, like i spawned a bad-luck flag over my head that'll last for days)
Walking towards the dining room, Father is sitting on the opposite end. "Sorry for being late just now, pa!"
Getting closer to him, he's looking at his tablet at head level with his arms holding it up, shiny silver unlike the one i've found at that cave yesterday, and i always asks him to teach me of it whenever he has some free time. "It's alright son. Though it's kind of unusual for your mother to not be here serving us the plates and all that"
Reminded of the cold weather, which usually affects me to go to the bathroom at dawn. (Hmm, well, is it weird for diligent people to be sick and goes to have some constipation? That's not like her.
Always hold hands early in the morning besides Father, so what is it, really?)
Taking a seat that was a little lower than the others, and i still struggle to go up on it.
I managed, sits there flamboyantly, swinging my legs. "Oh? Is she out early?"
Glancing at the empty seats, looking a little lonely by the other two's absence. "No, her bag's still on her research room and her shoes are still on the rack... You did something wrong, kid?". Giving me the concerned look, sipping his cup of coffee.
Eyebrows twitched, annoyed that i'm the one put at fault. "Eh~? Pushing the blame on me is mischievous, pa!
That's not proper of you"
His eyes froze, still drinking the last of his cup. ". . . *Gulps* You got some vocabulary studied, alright.
Well, let's search for her in the house.
I don't wanna make her sad with her walking to her academy being lonely". Standing out of his seat, i follow suit.
Dropping down, i 'salute' to him, like a cadet under command. "Ayy~"
"Alright then, let's start searching from the living room". Heading out of the room, we begin looking for mother.
. . . Garvin's Point of View. . .
*door opens*
Looking inside a room, 2 beds and loads of books on the shelves and some tables with the windows and curtains not opened yet. "Found her yet, kid?"
Arlan's searching the living room, helping me on the elimination process of rooms that are to be searched. "No, father"
Closing the door of his room, i meet up again with Arlan, continuing the search. " *sighs* OK, we'll keep on searching. I'm not fond of the uneasiness that something might have happened while i'm not around"
(Tsk, there goes two more from the checklist). We've searched throughout the house from the living room, Arlan's, the bath's, Mine and Fiona's bedroom.
Calling out her name doesn't give any response, but what's more worrying is that it also applies to Elena.
(Silence comences at this time of a day, and the only answer i can think off is that they're on their periods... Which isn't plausible, with my nose not sensing any odd smells like blood and body odors)
Minutes have passed and knowing that i'll be late doesn't put me at ease but, i can't leave knowing something's wrong with her today.
With that in mind, we're closing in on Elena's room and i noticed that there are thin lights coming out of the door. (Seldom of her to forget turning off the lights at this time of day, our housrmaid. I'll need to ask her if she knew of Fiona's whereabo-)
" (faint) *sobs* You... Can't be... *sniffs* The only one..."
" (faint) Now, now, i'm here whenever you need me be, Miss Fiona"
Hearing their voices behind the door, and Fiona's weeping, i know by now that it's something not easy to put off. (! Why's she crying? Is she perhaps by any chance informed of our first one, that she could be... No, neither of us knows for sure. So what's the matter?)
Trying not to alert them since our kid is here, i whisper Arlan of what he shouldn't do at the current moment. " (low-voice) Kid, try not to raise your voice!
From the sound of it, your mother's not feeling well today.
I'm going in first.
You can have a little peep but don't barge in!
Until i give you the 'okay' to come in, again, do not get in!
Got it?"
He gestures the 'OK' sign on his fingers. " (low-voice) Got it"
Peaking the door a little, looking over him. "Alright, wish me luck!"
*door creaks*
Peaking behind the door of Elena's room, which used to be our first one's, it reminisces me of the old days.
Shrowded in dark yellow light, the work table on my left have a mirror on it's front. It used to be filled with pages of papers when i came in is that her either taking notes of her discoveries, or her just being late to do her homeworks on time.
Now, it's replaced with Elena's cosmetics, and i can't help but be saddened that she too will leave from this house one day at the future.
(Our kid'll be lonely, and he's got no friends with our house being this far from any settlements. Can't help but grieve over the fact that we can't just sell the house and move onto the city, at least for now)
On the right, her wardrobe with the front that used to be plastered with posters of Adventurers and Guardians, is now gone.
Sometimes when i put clothes that our first one adores but can't buy, i always got myself a tight hug and her saying 'I Love You, Dad!'.
(Aah, wonder when she'll drop by?)
The lights above is shut, but the night desk lamps near the bed is still on. There, sits Elena on a chair, overlooking the bed that Fiona's laying on.
(Oh, No!). I walk towards her with my feet trying it's best not to make loud sound.
I tap her back, imploring her of what's happening currently. " (low-voice) Elena? You busy? Can i go in?"
Looking over her shoulders, eyes widened, eyebrows furrowed. " (low-voice) Sir Garvin!
I'm just consoling Miss Fiona over here, you're welcome to come in!". Elena's holding Fiona's hands, comforting her on the bed.
I go on taking a chair from the nearest, then i noticed Arlan's peeking.
Picking one up, i sway a little to the exit. " (low-voice) Don't come in yet, until i say so.
Don't forget that"
Concerned, he's only able to stand behind the door, peaking at us. " (low-voice) ... Okay"
Putting it down, i sit down as i analyze Fiona's condition. " (low-voice) So, what happened?"
" (low-voice) I, Don't Know, Sir.
When i finished bathing Young Master Arlan, i noticed that the door to the living room is opened and i heard Fiona's voice, crying about something"
Hearing her explanation,i can't help but hold my chin and shut my eyes, thinking why this is. (... Fiona is a lady that can control her emotions most of the time, but there are several instances where sometimes she snaps or breaks.
And in this case...)
Glancing at Elena, striking the one question i had in mind. " (low-voice) What was it that she cried about when you encountered her?"
She stares at Fiona for a moment, before facing me. " (low-voice) I... think it's, the one point in history that changed the world, the one that we will never be able to forget"
The respond she gave just now is not the kind of answer that i am expecting. " (low-voice) Elena. I Asked, on what she cried about when you were with her"
Staring for some seconds, before breaking the contact first, heads down. " (low-voice)... Along the lines i know of, it has her being 'One of the ones that caused all the screams and sufferings. One of the ones that caused it all to happen' "
(Wait, there's only one time that i saw how she acts out exactly like this!
Oh no, could it be?!
I'll have to confirm this)
I cover my mouth as to whisper to her. " (low-voice) So you're saying that she's-"
Mimicking me, she interrupts. " (low-voice) -reminded of the 'incident' again. I'm sure of it, Sir".
After knowing what's up, i put my head at rest on my hands. (! The 'incident' ?! As in, 'that' incident?!
Ah heck, it won't be easy making her wake up to reality.
Most of the time when this happens, she'll be mumbling things for even one whole day!)
Breaking out of the posture, feeling defeated of not being able to help her immediately. " (low-voice) ... Tch. How come has this happened?"
Elena scratches her neck, looking at Fiona. " (low-voice) ... Well... i guess it's my fault..."
(... HUH?!). At that Very moment, i feel the urge to Slap her for being the 'Cause' of my Beloved Wife's trauma triggering by my right hand, in which i clenches into a fist.
At the other hand, i know that i can't just be jumping to conclusion just because she said it herself, and hold the right as to make it not make her be troubled of living with us. (Whoa, there! I almost thought of slapping her just now.
Calm down, Me. Remain Composed. Don't let your anger get the better of you, Garv!)
Successing in holding back my fury, i heave out a breath of exasperation. ( *Sighs Heavily* Elena is new to this job so of course there are mistakes to be made.
For now, i'll ask her how it is her fault to begin with)
Shifting my body to face her directly, i grasp my hand to hold my head as it stares at the floor. " (low-voice) Alright, then. Explain how it's your fault to begin with"
Frantically tip-tapping her feets, she could be feeling pressured because of this. " (low-voice) W-when i'm in the bath with Young Master, he suddenly asked about Aeon and after explaining most of the known things about it... and then... "
I stick my body closer to her. " (low-voice) Yes?"
She covers her mouth, whispering. "... (low-voice) He asked about the Dragon-Taming Device"
Taken aback, i facepalm as i think on how outrageous it possibly is. ( . . . What the hell?!
That's one of the most nation-kept secret of which existence not even most of my co-workers from outside Ytris knew about!
I don't remember keeping any logs about that very 'incident' in the house, physically and digitally so how does a kid like him know of it?!
Then again, could he know the password to my tablet and curiously took a search?
But i swear that i always keep a close eye to it so... Damnit, i can't figure this out!)
Glancing at the door, it's a little closed than when i opened it. (He's peeping now, isn't he?
What should i do in this situation?
Should i ask him to come out and ask him?
But, he's only 4 years old so it can't be his fault, right?)
Switching at the other direction towards Elena the housemaid, then to Fiona the housewife. (Elena did say it's her fault after all but, then again Arlan is the one who asked about it first.
... Agh, sorry kid but, for the sake of your mother i'll have to force you in)
Towards the door, i raises my voice. "Arlan Gritt. Come In" As any parents that will be teaching their kids a lesson, stating their full name is always in mind first.
Creaking, the door then opens, revealing the peaking boy that is the next subject. " (meak) . . . Yes, father... "
Elena, confused on why he is eavesdropping at us. " (low-voice) What? Young Master Arlan? Why is he-"
Not waiting for her to complete her sentence, i crouch down as he is now in front of us. "So, Arlan, care to tell us what you know about the thing you've talked about with Elena?"
Panicking, he holds his hand, heads down. "I-"
Frankly, out of patience, i only let out my stoic accent before he even start speaking. "In the Living Room, With Me". I stand up, heading towards the exit.
". . . Yes"
" (low-voice) Please don't be too harsh with him, Sir Garvin! He's just a kid and it's my fault!"
As i look at her, her face is concerned for Arlan after Fiona, trying to reason with me to make sure i'm not dealing it out with him as severe as possible. (Goddamnit, you reminded me of our first one, having their maternal instinct activated on their younger acquaintances and always try to protect them whenever possible)
As i wait for Arlan at the door, i hold him on one of his shoulders. "I won't do cruel things to my own child, but i will have him Confess Everything Out.
Don't Protect Him Any Further. That's an order". Giving a cold stare, i want her to know that what i am saying is to be absolute.
"I... yes, Sir Garvin". Clenching her hand just right on the left side of her chests, she's hurt on the inside not being able to do anything on this one private matter.
"Alright, i'm off. Take care of Fiona.
Now, let's go, Arlan"
Exiting the room, he looks behind at them. "... Yes, father"
*door closes*
. . .
At the living room, we sit at one of the table that was mostly used for light coffee talk. 6 seats circling a table, and all of them are woods.
Firstly, i ask him whether he knows of Aeon from all my gadgets. 'Yes', he said, as expected.
Secondly, if he knows that mother is near the bathroom. 'No', he said, making Fiona as the suspect of being the one engaging it the first.
Thirdly, i ask him of how he knows the Dragon-Taming Device that is now basically one of the sentences you should not say in this world. 'An Experience', he said, not up to my expectation.
Fidgeting my hair, i stare at him head on. "So you're saying that it's a dream of yours?"
The kid glances left and right after, maybe fearing of him being disrespectful after what happened to his own mother.
Stopping his frantic eye movements, he then stares at me sincerely. "... Well, not just a dream but... more like a memory.
It feels surreal.
So much so that, i can actually feel the horror and pain from the things that happened inside"
Hearing him saying some words that is not supposed to be heard by kids his age, i hold my chin as i frown on the few words he just spoke. (Surreal? Horror? Pain? Where the heck did he learned of these vocabularies? I never read any words that closely resembles them back then, let alone the words themselves.
All the books i had around here is mostfully Fairytales, Cheerful and Bright stuffs, so could it be him imploring Elena on grabbing the books on the upper shelves? Ah, could be, but later for that.
I'm not so sure how our kid is able to make out some sense from a lucid dream or whatever, but from the way i monitored his body with my eyes i'm very sure that he's not lying and what's more is that he gives off a sorrowful vibe with his voice)
Opening my eyes, i open my mouth. "Hmm... Interesting. Can you tell me in further details?"
He tilts his body to the sides before stopping. "Yes. It started with me being up in the sky riding a 'tamed' wyvern named Erzen"
I lift my eyebrows, again, hearing an answer that is unexpected. "Wait wait wait, You WHAT?"
"What i said, father, is that it started with me seeing the sky above the clouds". He pouts, looking like he wants to get this over with.
Showing my palms towards him, signaling him to go on with the story. "Alright, alright, Go Ahead"
"Continuing after that is knowing myself as Sieg, who i am in the dream, wearing some kind of prototype suit that stares at the scenery around him suddenly got a call from his Commanding Officer, Sir Bannifer, and he goes on talking about . . .". He talks on and on, describing the little minute details of what he 'Experienced' in his 'Dream'.
After the ranting stops, i gather my thoughts about him. (Hmm, the way he talks is not that of a normal child.
To describe things slowly from details by details thoroughly, i can't believe he's still 4!
He sure has studied a lot while we're away from home.
And he speaks of the dream like it's just like another daily conversation even though it's supposed to be heavy to chew on for kid his age!
He is not like his sister which just plays around all day until before the journey.
Since he looks like he can learn quickly, i have to stop him here and warn him for Fiona, those around him and for his own sake)
I closes in on the table, waving my hands to signal him to get closer. "... Alright. Let me tell you this, son.
The contents you've dreamt about is something historic that our kingdom learns, the Hard Way, and hope that it never happens again by restructuring the whole kingdom.
All because of an 'incident' ". As i strike up my fingers to pose as it signals 'Quote, Unquote'.
"Why? What happened, pa?". His eyes beaconing with curiosity, it gives me the drives to make sure he doesn't get to learn it the hard way himself either.
I breathe in heavily, readying myself for this. " *Breathes Heavily* . . . A war against the 'Rogues'.
It happened 3 decades ago.
They are basically every monster in the fairytales that we read you about only, enhanced with our nation's technology we tamed them in a short span of 2 years but one day, all the devices that we've tested out in the fields everywhere within Ytris and its surroundings suddenly malfunctioned and the 'tamed' beasts we once had under our control then run amok.
They changed their behaviours, mutated with unsightly... changes to their bodies.
Some can cloak to blend with the environments, some can control the lesser monsters around itself, some have their intelligence increased and made strongholds to further cause chaos in the surrounding.
Most of them are often seen in the uncharted areas and the inexperienced adventurers who tried to exterminate them, they uh... some are never to be seen again.
The difference of power of an adult Rogue wyvern is almost in par with a juvenile Earth Dragon, which is known for their hard skin and is Three times the size". I take a break within, and looking at him, it seems that the sparkles in his eyes diminishes a little.
(Why does he look bored by this? No, nonono. Maybe he doesn't understand it fully? Even geniuses got to be teached at some point or another. Just like his sister)
I continue on as i am feeling a little regretful. "Most of these Are the Very Reason why the both of us tried to reject your sister from going to her journey but, well, she persisted saying that she can finally have some challenging target.
We didn't stop her, knowing that she definitely can go without us noticing.
And so we did what we thought is best for her.
We packed her with the necessary knowledge, the equipment and such other needs for her to survive out there.
But uh... , we didn't have the expenses to afford her any kind of communicator from Aeon so we still don't know how is she right now.
Even if she did, she couldn't have known our contact.
We bought the tablets and other communication device three weeks after she has left, because of the needs from our academy so uh... yeah, the reason why we're unsure of her conditions as of now". I take a glance at him, at which he looks a bit Saddened or more precisely, Disappointed.
(Tch, If only the War didn't happened, i'd be having two kids that'll be sitting at my laps, waiting for their turn for bedtime stories, running around and playing tag, and have our house at the city)
Putting down the frustration, i got reminded of what i should warn him. "That aside, here's the thing about your mother.
She's uh... She used to be one of the few people responsible for helping in it's development.
Although she quit Aeon after a while, she is still carrying the immense guilt for all the... misfortunes and misery she caused on all the ones that got dragged into this.
So from here on and out, try your best not to talk of it to anyone as you want.
Especially when your mother is nearby, understand?"
Heads down, for the 6th time, looking a little meak.
He bows down, the way that a Noble, no, An Aristrocrate does.
Kneeling down with the right on the front, right hand on the left of his chests. "... Understood, father.
I apologize for ever mentioning 'that' rudely this morning and causing trouble for the whole house"
(. . . That way of apologizing it's . . . He's just 4 years old, right? I... Is he even my kid?
But this politeness won't be too good for kids like him.
Except if he plans to be a 'Butler' in the future... Not that i'd complain)
Having the gloom all over my body, i know a way to break out the tension. "And so for the punishment! Head Chopping Technique!"
I strike down my left hand at his head, not so fast and not so slow. "Owie!". He sticks out his hands, caressing his head.
Smirking, i stand up from the seat. " *yawns* Anyways, look what you've done to the house first thing in the morning!
Almost an hour passes by now.
We're too late to even go to the academy, and breakfasts is definitely cold by now.
I'll have to contact both our academy for us to explain this matter and to take an absent leave to stay at home for today.
And it's all because of a dream, huh?
You really are something troublesome". I presses my right index to his forehead lightly.
"Guuh, i can't help it! I was just curious, that's all. The books in this house are too few to cover up the knowledge i seek.
I wanna know more of this world, pa!
I wanna learn Aeon Tablet!". He looks at me, with his eyes seeming with fire inside of them.
I look at him, and pretty much went : (. . . Yep, definitely my kid)
"Alright, alright.
If we got the needs done maybe we'll have you one but it's very hard to understand and not all people in the city can use it currently so for now, i can lend you mine when we're at home until you're acquainted to it"
" *gasps* Really?!". Again, the eyes even show little sparkles when i look at them longer.
(Like a little puppy hungry for affection, or food.
I can tell that he's happy. So cute... and it's coming from the one that caused a whole ruckus in the morning)
"Thank you, pa! Thank you so much!". He jumps to my leg, hugging them.
I pick him up, to give him a piggy ride. "Ahahaha, okay okay.
But keep your promise for your mother's sake, alright?"
"Yes, Father"
" *chuckles* Let us have everyone for breakfast, shall we?
And help Elena whenever she calls for you, even if i'm close by. Okay?"
"Ayy!"
And so we head back to the dining room, taking some plates and some cup of water so Arlan and Fiona can eat at least a little.
. . .
