Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Arrival on Earth

The vast expanse of space was adorned with twinkling stars, illuminating the darkness with their radiant glow as the attack ball swiftly traversed it. The attack ball was on a determined course toward a distant blue and green planet amid this celestial tapestry.

Inside the confines of the attack ball, the young Saiyan began to stir from the induced state of unconsciousness that the spacecraft technology had imposed on him for the last six months. It was a cost-effective measure implemented by Frieza, the tyrannical emperor, to ensure the Saiyans remained relatively sane during their interstellar conquests.

For Frieza, who enjoyed playing the role of a gentleman and engaging in business transactions rather than using brute force to amass wealth, this was an ironic approach.

Kakarot, the infant Saiyan in attack ball, took a moment to take in the breathtaking view before him.

"For me, the chaotic world with its myriad of strange and powerful creatures held an undeniable allure. It is a sight that can only be found amid such chaos. It's no wonder people in my world value this chaotic world; it is simply magnificent, even better than the earth I saw on the internet in my home universe." Kakarot remarked as he marveled at its grandeur and a resolute determination welled up within Kakarot's being as he gazed upon the mesmerizing planet.

"I've decided that whether or not I become a hero of justice, I'm going to make sure that this planet doesn't get destroyed after all this is my new home world," Kakarot stated firmly.

...

The attack ball sped through the atmosphere, lighting up with the fire generated by its speed as it fell from the sky, and once it was close to Earth, Kakarot made it slow down by pressing a few buttons, otherwise it would slam into the ground.

As Kakarot's space pod approached the planet's surface, he decided to take extra precautions to ensure its safety. Despite the pods being known for their toughness, he didn't want to risk any damage that might hinder his journey. With a determined focus, he skillfully maneuvered the pod to come to a gentle halt, hovering just above the planet's surface.

With a resounding crash, the attack ball made its forceful landing on Mount Paozu, a majestic mountain nestled within the rural region. Unbeknownst to the Saiyan toddler inside, a Galactic Patrolman happened to be nearby, engaged in a leisurely swim as he exchanged complaints with a blond-haired woman who stood atop the mountain.

As the dust settled and the commotion subsided, the young Saiyan sensed incoming signals from the AI system of his escape pod. Eagerly, he adjusted his power scouter, placing it snugly on the right side of his head. With a sense of anticipation, he took his first steps outside the confines of the attack ball, instantly feeling a gentle breeze caress his face.

At that moment, he drew in a deep breath, savoring the sensation of fresh air. It was a stark contrast to the enclosed atmosphere of his incubation chamber, where he had relied on a tube connected to his mouth for breathing.

The scent of the surrounding nature mingled with the untainted air, heightening his senses and invigorating his spirit. It was a moment of liberation, where he could fully embrace the freedom of this new world he had arrived in.

After glancing around the area where he crushed landed, he chose to trust intuition because it is a skill, which implies that by doing so, he will find Grandpa Gohan much easier since it amplified his senses toward the goal he has in mind, similar to having six senses.

Amidst his exploration, the young Saiyan eventually stumbled upon a peculiar figure. Standing before him was a diminutive elderly man, with a stout and stocky frame.

The man's small, dark eyes glistened with wisdom, framed by a bushy white mustache and eyebrows. His head was completely devoid of hair, a shining testament to his age. Dressed in a traditional Chinese martial arts suit, he sported an orange sleeveless jacket over a black long-sleeved shirt. Completing his attire was a distinctive green headgear that adorned his scalp.

The Saiyan heritage within him stirred a primal response, causing him to drool excessively at the sight of the herbs and vegetables nestled in the man's basket. Though hunger gnawed at his stomach, he managed to suppress his desires, realizing that there were more important matters at hand.

Recognizing the man before him as Grandpa Gohan, the one who had shown kindness and love to the original Goku, Kakarot felt a mixture of gratitude and responsibility.

Even though canon Goku was ultimately responsible for Grandpa Gohan's untimely demise, the old man had harbored no anger or resentment towards him. Instead, he had always displayed patience and understanding, even during the trying times when the young Saiyan's behavior had been at its worst.

As Kakarot's hunger subsided and his thoughts settled, he decided to demonstrate his power to Grandpa Gohan. With a burst of energy, he rushed towards the elderly man, shouting to alert him to his presence. Deep down, Kakarot knew that Gohan's keen martial arts senses would have already detected him, but the vocal warning served its purpose nonetheless.

He wanted to spar with Gohan for two reasons: First and foremost, he desired to engage in a sparring session with Gohan, using his full force to gauge his strength and the progress he had made through his training. This would provide valuable insights and allow him to assess his current capabilities.

Furthermore, Kakarot hoped that the display of his power would ignite Gohan's interest in teaching him martial arts. In this unfamiliar world, he had yet to encounter anyone who possessed the knowledge and skills to guide him in his martial arts journey. Gohan, with his experience and wisdom, seemed to be the ideal candidate to become his mentor.

With determination burning in his eyes, Kakarot closed the distance between himself and Grandpa Gohan, ready to engage in a spirited spar that would not only test his abilities but also pave the way for a potential teacher-student relationship.

Though, the intense battle between Kakarot and Grandpa Gohan came to a swift conclusion, with the young Saiyan finding himself thoroughly defeated and exhausted within just a few minutes. As he lay on the ground, panting heavily, Gohan approached him with a kind and gentle expression, extending a helping hand to help him sit up.

Gohan's intentions were never to harm Kakarot, despite his superior martial arts skills and experience. Instead, he had carefully chosen to tire out the young Saiyan, ensuring that he faced physical exhaustion rather than any serious injuries. Gohan's compassionate nature shone through as he prioritized the well-being of his young opponent.

"You're one strong kid, you know," Gohan remarked, a genuine admiration evident in his voice. "I had to be on my toes to fight you. But what's most impressive is your endurance and tough body."

Kakarot, still catching his breath, managed a small smile at the compliment. He could sense the shock hidden behind Gohan's kind eyes, realizing that he had underestimated his strength.

As the conversation continued, Gohan's curiosity prompted him to inquire further. "So, what were you doing here in the rural areas, and where are your parents?"

Kakarot hesitated for a moment, contemplating how much to reveal. But ultimately, he decided to stick with his initial deception. "My parents are dead, and I come here to hunt for food," he replied, keeping his tone steady.

Gohan's expression shifted, displaying a mix of sympathy and concern. "Oh, I'm sorry for your loss," he said, the weight of his words resonating in the silent atmosphere. "It must have been hard for you, living alone and hunting for food in the wild."

With a glimmer of hope, Gohan extended an offer after he saw the little fella had a strong body despite his age when they were having a spare earlier. "Hey kid, how about you live with me? I'll make sure to train you to become a top martial artist."

"Then you'll be able to hunt better and eat something substantial when you're hungry," Gohan added after witnessing Kakarot drool at the sight of the food in his basket before their spare.

"All right, old man," Kakarot replied after he widened his eyes to show a surprised expression to appear less suspicious in front of Gohan since it would be weird if he accept a stranger's help.

Though after some thought, he thought about how this was the dragon ball world that was filled with weird people so even if he told the truth it wouldn't be too strange.

Together, they made their way to Gohan's humble abode atop Mount Paozu—a small hut nestled in the serene surroundings. The interior was modest, with a single bed, a two-person table at the center, and a small window allowing a glimpse of the picturesque landscape.

As they arrived, Gohan began preparing the animal they had hunted earlier, savoring the opportunity to share a meal with his newfound student. Kakarot's hunger grew apparent as he devoured the food before him, indulging in the taste of a satisfying meal he had not experienced in years.

After filling his stomach to the brim, Kakarot felt a sense of gratitude towards Gohan, who had patiently awaited his completion of the hearty meal. With a contented sigh, he decided it was time to reveal his life story to the older man.
