Yin Zhen remained in her chamber's feeling even more at ease than he had expected, for a moment he really thought he'd end up dying at that place not until she came along, he should be grateful but his pride won't let him.
The door finally creaked open and Anhe walked in with different varieties of food on a tray, after returning the basket of herbs to master Futuan's chamber's, with everyone currently busy with the trainings assigned to them, she silently snuck into the kitchen to get some food for the wolf and hers included.
Anhe gazed at the pretty wolf and smiled relentlessly, she dropped the tray of food on her table and grabbed a few herbs from her sack.
"I'll give you some food, but first I have to treat your wound so it doesn't worsen further."
Yin Zhen said nothing or made any gestures, he only watched her grind the herbs on a small grinder and after a few minutes of getting the herbs ready, she walked up to the wolf, sitting right beside it on the bed.
She reached for its injured area but Yin Zhen snarled in disapproval, showing off its claws in defense if she dared to touch him with that thing!
Anhe couldn't help but sigh as she withdrew back, this wolf was clearly a stubborn one, other animals she's taken care of don't usually cause her this much trouble.
"I'm not doing it for my sake but yours, if you plan on getting any better then you have to let me do this, master Futuan taught me one or two about herbs and I can help you out if you just stay still."
Yin Zhen was still being cautious but his gaze was threatening, some herbs carry side effects, what if it fluctuates his energy? As if reading his mind, Anhe replied softly.
"Don't worry, this will only help to close up your wound, no effects okay?" Anhe couldn't believe this, she's talking to an animal like a human being and the interesting part was it seemed to understand everything she says. She slowly reached for its wounded area and massaged it up gently with the oil extracted from those herbs.
It stung a little but it was something Yin Zhen could bear and after minutes, she was done.
"Done! Does it hurt?" She asked but he only wiggled his tail slightly which she took as a no.
"Good boy, time to eat."
She rinsed her hands first before reaching for the tray, she knelt beside Yin Zhen whose eyes curiously scanned the tray and she smiled.
"I don't know what wolves eat so I brought whatever I found in the kitchen, surely one must suit your taste."
Scanning through the tray of food, cookies, a cup of tea, freshly sliced meat and an equally fried fish was kept on the tray. Anhe studied the wolf and realized its eyes weren't on the fresh sliced meats but had its eyes on everything cooked.
"You want these?" Anhe surprisingly pointed at the porridge of food which was meant for her and shook her head in disapproval.
"That's for me so I can't give that to you, take from either of this tray okay?"
She got to her feet after a few seconds of studying the wolf. "I'll go freshen up and then come back, don't move and stay here."
Yin Zhen only obeyed by lowering his fox-like ears, Anhe smiled and went into the bathroom. Seeing her absence, Yin Zhen scoffed silently and got to his four feet.
'No one tells me what to do.'
Once Anhe was done freshening up, she stepped out of the bathroom, only to find almost half the tray of food completely empty. To make it worse, even her bowl of porridge was empty, she stared wide-eyed at the wolf who was innocently relaxed on the bed, acting clueless while meeting her gaze.
"Did you...but how did..!!.." She shook the thought away, it's impossible for an animal to finish almost half the tray of food within just minutes when it isn't human, so how did it??
"Even my bowl of porridge??" She whined childishly, then turned her suspicious gaze to the wolf who innocently watched her, it looked too cute she found it hard to even blame the poor thing.
"N..nevermind, I'll just get myself something else to eat." She sighed and tried to get her head together, walking over to it, she gently stroked its white fur, it might have finished half of the food but at least she knows what it likes now, next time she'll be a lot more vigilant next time.
"Since you'll be staying with me for a couple of days, what do I name you?" She asked herself while giving the cute wolf a gentle pat which Yin Zhen surprisingly found himself enjoying, not only that he equally liked the fact she was pretty.
Her touch felt familiar, too familiar, but he's never met her before so what's with the strange feeling?
"Oh! I got one." She exclaimed startling Yin Zhen himself.
"I'll call you Zhen." She smiled at the option, nodding to her own statement. "Zhen means 'rare or something precious' you're rare and every rare thing is bound to be precious, the name suits you perfectly."
Yhin Zhen was barely bothered, that was his name in person so he could work with that, at least she didn't give him those stupid names mortals normally name their pets.
"I hope we get along throughout the time you spend here and don't make troubles for me!"
Yin Zhen certainly has no intention of bonding with her, but he could pretend to do that for the meantime, she was the only person who could keep him safe at the moment.
There was suddenly a knock on the door grasping both their attention.
"Anhe, master Futuan requests your presence."
A voice from outside spoke, and Anhe felt glad she had locked the door. Master Futuan has finally returned.
"Okay I'll be there."
And the voices weren't heard anymore, Anhe averted her gaze from the door, turning to the wolf.
"I have to go now so just be a good boy and stay here, don't move and I'll be back okay?"
She didn't expect any response from the wolf, she could even sense its pride but chose to ignore it.
"I'll go now."
