Catherine,
It dropped on all four and sprinted towards me. Rippling through the burnt leaves. But it only reached halfway, just before Mortise came in running with a bone-crushing kick to the carcass's underside.
The carcass body wrapped around Mortise's leg, destroying his ribcage completely. Flopping to its side like a ragdoll, but instantly got up like an insect. Acting as if nothing had happened and dropped down on all four, scarpering away inside the forest.
"God fucking dame it!", Mortise yelled in anger as he turned around and rubbed his hair in frustration. He walked a little away from me until stopped and bent down, pulling out a heavy-duty revolver.
"So! Who the fuck are you?" Mortise said as he looked at me while placing his revolver in its holster underneath his coat. I quickly composed myself, "I...Am, from the Church...". "Oh, God. Another one?", He grunted, rubbing his eyes in frustration.
"Huh?", I said. "Fuck it, I am not dealing with this shit", Mortise said walking away from me. "Hey, st...", sudden pain in my head cut me short, causing my eye to close shut. It was Dom, leaving behind a thought. Whatever happens, I should not separate myself from him.
My vision got back together and in the next moment, I heard rustling from behind me. Mortise's head snapped at me and before I could act, something grabbed me from behind. The next thing I knew, I was being pulled at extreme speed through the forest.
Fast wind hitting my ear, making me unable to hear myself scream. I crashed into multiple trees with the sides of my shoulders while covering my head. And then a jolt threw me in the air, then I came down crashing into the ground.
Mortise,
She had dark blackish-blue hair, a tight back. Wearing a navy blue coat and light blue suit with dark brown dress pants. A pretty face and fine body, but sadly with a dumbhead on her shoulder, if she came here of all things. Most probably the church would be responsible for her being here.
My voice got caught up in my throat, as the demon pulled her through the forest, towards that cursed house. I sighed.
"Ah...Oh well", I said as I reached down and pulled out a cigarette. Putting it in my mouth, and bringing out my lighter. The fire burnt through the dried roses soaked in holy water, inhaling deeply to calm my mind every time.
I exhaled the smoke, staring at the night sky. With the moon shining alongside the many, many stars littering the sky. But then sharp pain cut through my forehead, causing my jaw to straggler and my cigarette to drop out of my mouth.
"What the...fuck is happening!", I yelled, grabbing my head in pain. A thought flared in my head, to save the woman I saw getting dragged away. Hearing this, I turned around, looking in all directions. "Who the fuck!?", I said and silence made it certain that I was alone.
Another jolt of pain went across my head, insisting on me save her. Pain and irritation gripped my nerves, making me pull my hair. "Shut the...fuck up..." I tried to speak but the pain only grew more. Causing my knees to buckle and I fell on them.
The voice became louder and clearer until I heard a voice screaming. "Don"t let her die! You need her!". "Fine!", I yelled back in the air and the pain stopped. I took a moment to breathe and collect myself.
"Fucking Jesus Christ", I said and started to march towards the forsaken house.
Catherine,
It came out of the oblivion itself, like a train, getting louder as it got closer. Until, I heard him clear as day, "Wake up!".
The moment my consciousness came to me, I tasted the smell of ash. The next thing was the ground was covered with a thick layer of ash, of course, I was rolling in it. I sat up slowly, feeling pain all over my body and the Ferrell family house.
I was bruised, probably with many fractures but nothing was broken... so far. I stumbled back on my feet, trying my best not to stretch too much.
The house was standing despite formerly burning to the ground. The woodwork was okay for the most part and the glass in the window was still in one piece. I climbed onto the squeaking steps of the porch, coming in front of the main door.
It opened without any hinge, leading to an old home with a dust-filled carpet. leading into a wide space and a living room with two dusty lime single couches facing me straight head. The wallpaper partially peeled off and hung off the wall.
...
It all started two weeks back, on a fine early morning when a postman arrived at the Ferrell family residence to deliver mail. To his surprise, the house had its windows and two doors boarded up to a tee, except the first-floor bedroom window.
He soon noticed a woman, desperately banging on a window. Just before someone pulled her away from the window. The postman quickly called the authorities and seconds before Ferrell's family home burst into fire.
...
I found the rest of the house abandoned and drowning in silence. Just before the sounds of muffled screaming started coming through the ceiling. They were hiding upstairs, so I started carefully making my way up dust-filled stairs. Coming to a small portion of the hall that had two doors on the left, one closest to me opened with a loud creaking sound.
If I remembered reading that after the bizarre fire was put out at the Farrell family's residence. It was discovered that the postman who had contacted the authority and the bodies of Farrell; which included the father, a mother, and their two sons, had disappeared. And continuing into the next day, the house disappeared as well.
As I stepped inside the dust-filled bedroom through a narrow entrance. With the bathroom on my left and the wardrobe, shelf, and a desk on the side. The bedroom had an intense smell of burning flesh, enough for me to cover my nose.
Coming further in, there was a full-size bed and side table on each side. Not to mention a thick layer of ash on everything, including the two windows in front of me. But then my eyes went to my right due to the sudden movement above me.
Found a full body-size mirror, mounted onto the wall. Staring into it, I found the decaying corpse from before, clinging to the ceiling right above me. It released itself onto the floor behind me. I collected myself and turned around to face its mangle exterior, it's dead gray becoming fixated on me.
And just before it could attack me, I whispered. "FamGisg MedMals". It froze where it stood, as the ash flew out from under our feet. The corpse's body became possessed by divine presence, I felt my body becoming heavy, as I raised my hand and placed it on the dent Mortise left behind.
My heart started beating insanely fast and the top of my head started to burn. "Pa Van DonDrux, NaMed UrGon Or GonDonGraph", as soon as I whispered those words. Divine light burst through the corpse's eyes and mouth, burning his soul and body from inside out.
Next moment I released the body and it fell to the ground, leaving me to stumble back. Feeling the pain rising from my chest to my head, causing me to grip my forehead. Then I looked up to find a figure standing at the entrance.
It was Mortise with an astonished look on his face. But before any of us could say a word, a force latched onto my neck. I didn't even have time to break eye contact with Mortise, as I crashed through the mirror mounted on the wall, head first and instantly blacking out.
Mortise,
The shit-heel voice in my head was right, she might be useful. I thought as I saw her hit the mirror on the wall and then pass through it. But the moment I reached it, she was already through and the walls closed off.
Without missing a beat, I pulled out my pocket knife and cut it into my hand. Allowing the blood to flow, I slapped my bleeding hand on the top and rubbed the blood down to my foot.
"Coniuro nequitiae. Aperi ostium inferni, et fac vas tuum. Itaque ego sum super ardeat quem volo", as I whisper the spell of my construct. The blood started bubbling and like a disease started spreading through the wood.
I pushed through the muck, entering the ashen room. A burnt room, with scorch marks going from the floor to the ceiling. And right in the dead center was the veil being composed of corpses melted together.
It had many faces and limbs, hanging from the corners of its body. His twisted limbs latched on the body of the woman, lifting her. A single mouth on the top stretched out and started swallowing the woman whole.
I sprinted towards him, squeezing my wound and allowing blood to flow between my knuckles. I quickly shoved my fist straight in its rotten face. As soon as my blood made contact with the demon's flesh, it started burning it like acid.
The demon reeled back, grabbing his face and letting out a deep roar. Allowing me to wrap my arm around her waist and kick myself off its bottom. I stumbled back and placed the woman on the floor, she wasn't bleeding, except for a nasty bruise on the side of her forehead.
While the demon grabbed his face in pain and started shaking in pain. "You! Aren't supposed to be!", he said in a deep grumble, as it turned to the wall to my left and hammered its face onto it. It kept hammering until the burnt wood started to break.
Then it crashed through it into the forest outside. I couldn't let it run away, so I left the woman on the ground and ran behind it. Jumping out of the first story and landing safely on the ground. It wasn't hard to notice it, a giant gray globe running on several thin legs through the forest.
I quickly gave chase to it, "Stop running! you bastard!", I yelled and ran across the bed of ashen leaves. Until they started appearing, his first legion. Small twisted spawns, crawling out of the branches, behind tree trunks, and from the ashes blow.
