Chapter 39 - Kill me twice, shame on me

Sienna didn't even think. 

There was no time to think and no need to. 

In this life and in her previous life, she would have done the same.

She threw down the binoculars and sprinted for the deck chair that Damon was on. 

Damon was looking at her with confusion and surprise but it felt as if she couldn't move her limbs fast enough. 

She leapt over another deck chair. 

Not fast enough, a voice whispered. 

Desperately, she pumped her arms harder, trying to reach him.

A crack rang out as she dove for Damon. 

As her body fell over his, she jerked with the impact of something hitting her. 

Pain. 

Hot and sharp and white, blooming in a way that was ironically familiar. 

"Sienna!" There was alarm and horror in Damon's voice. 

Something about the way he was holding her, something about the urgency in his tone was comforting. 

She felt as if she knew this scene from somewhere.
