Chapter 27 - It's nice not to be alone

Sienna was somewhere warm and secure.

She felt safe in a way she hadn't for a long time.

With her eyes still closed, she frowned, having the hazy memory of someone running their hands through her hair and holding her hand.

That wasn't possible though. She had always been left alone when sick.

A servant would stop by to send her food and medicine but falling ill was something Sienna was used to enduring on her own.

Feeling for her head, she found a cloth that had been left on her forehead.

Her eyes popped open and she stared at it. Had someone really been taking care of her?

Movement at her side had her nearly falling out of bed.

Damon was right there. In her room, by her bed, with his dark blonde head next to her hip.

Damon? Why would Damon stay with her while she was sick?

She was hit with the sour memory of what happened at the party and in her lap, her hands clenched into fists.
