As time passed in the office, many of the employees working in the HR Department stopped by to welcome Jeanohntae. She had piles of paper work to do, so she decided to send an email to Adrian and the other new applicant for her assistant.
When she finished, she got to work on the employee evaluations. It did not take her long as she did not find the need to question the evaluations. Everybody had progress perfectly and professionally. She was satisfied.
She did not realize what time it was until Christian called her phone reminding her about lunch. She hurried up and finished her work, she packed her things and headed out of her office. She let everybody know she leaving for lunch and they all smiled.
Jeanohntae got into the back seat. JJ fixed his mirror and asked her in a polite friendly smile. "Ms. Jean, how was your first day!??" Jeanohntae sighed and smile. "It's a lot of paperwork, but it's fun. I love the environment and the people."
JJ smiled as drove. "Where are we heading ma'am!??" Jeanohntae forgot she did not tell him where to go, she only called him to pick her up. "Ooh I'm sorry JJ. It slipped my mind. Please take me home lunch." JJ nodded and headed home.
When she arrived home, she saw Landon leaning against the car. She sighed softly. "I guess that means Christian is home before me." JJ chuckled lightly. He has never met someone as caring and kind as Jeanohntae. She also had a little bit of an outspoken tongue. Something like that, fit Jeanohntae perfectly.
Jeanohntae got out of the car and thanked JJ. "Thank you JJ. You go ahead and eat lunch. You can take Landon with you. Don't forget to be back in two hours." Jeanohntae said and went into the house. JJ smiled and waved to Jeanohntae.
Landon walked over to JJ and smiled. "So!??" JJ looked confused and asked. "So what!??" Landon walked closer and started asking softly. "You know, how is it like driving the boss's lady around!?? You seem to be enjoying yourself."
JJ smiled. "She's actually quite kind. She's not mean, and she apologizes every time she thinks she's being rude. She even told me to go and eat lunch and to bring your dumbass with me. So don't even think of Ms. Jean in any kind of way you pervert."
Landon raised his hands in defeat. "Alright I won't think of anything like that. But do you think she will date m…" JJ did not let him finish his sentence. "Landon, Shut up and get in the car!"
Landon likes to joke around, and he's a big flirt. He likes to flirt with any woman he sees. JJ did not want him to disrespect Jeanohntae like that. Jeanohntae has JJ's respect from the bottom of his heart. He likes having her as his boss.
Christian and Jeanohntae were sitting in the dining room. "So, how do you like it so far!??" Christian asked. "I really like it. The people there are friendly, except for one." Christian's eyes narrowed and his voice got serious. "Who is it!?? I'll deal with them when we get back."
Jeanohntae shook her head. "Chris don't worry about it. She is an excellent worker. There is no reason to be angry." Christian sighed in disbelief. "Sweetheart. You're too kind to everyone. You need to understand that there are people you cannot trust." He said that thinking about Nikki and Nellie. Jeanohntae likes them, but she does not know what Christian knows.
Jeanohntae nodded in agreement. "I understand, but I've never met someone who I can't trust. Even so, I believe everyone deserves a second chance. Give respect to get respect. Give kindness and you'll be rewarded." Jeanohntae smiled.
Christian did not understand, so she explained. "I've lived by those words for so many years and I'm happy. Yes I've had some bad turn of events, but there are also amazing ones too."
Christian was about to say something when Leah and Butler Lu came out with the food. "Special food from Mr. Devin." Butler Lu said.
Christian and Jeanohntae finished eating and needed to head back to the office. When they went outside, Landon and JJ were already outside waiting. "I'll see you after work." Christian said and kissed Jeanohntae's cheek.
Landon looked at JJ with a big grin. JJ however, just rolled his eyes at Landon. He did not understand what is wrong with Landon.
They got into their vehicles and left. When they arrived, Everybody in the HR Department greeted Jeanohntae as she walked in. She smiled politely at them and went into her office. She looked at her email and saw that Adrian and the other applicant has responded back to her email. She scheduled their interview for later that day, 30 minutes after each other.
Adrian was first. He was brought up by one of the employees in the HR Department. They brought Adrian into Jeanohntae's office. When Adrian saw who was interviewing him, his eyes sparkled. "Girl! I did not know I was applying to be my best friend's assistant. Dang this is pure luck for me."
Jeanohntae started to laugh and gestured Adrian to sit. "I know. When I saw your application, I was surprised. Anyways, let's get started because I have another one right after you."
They both got serious and continued with the interview. It did not take long, because Jeanohntae practically knew everything about him. "Okay, thank you Adrianisha. I'll call you to let you know when you can start."
Adrian said his goodbyes and not long after, the other applicant came in her office. "Hello, my name is Kensia. I'm here for the assistant position." Jeanohntae looked up from her work and smiled. "Please come in and sit."
Kensia smiled shyly and sat down. "Okay, let's get started shall we." Kensia nodded and the interview was now underway. Jeanohntae all sorts of questions and Kensia answered them with confidence. Jeanohntae was quite pleased. "Okay, thank you Kensia. That will be all. I'll give a call when you can start."
Kensia stood up and shook Jeanohntae's hand. "Thank you Ms. Jeanohntae. It was a pleasure." Jeanohntae raised up her other hand. "No. Please call me Ms. Jean. I'm not too big on formalities. I would let you call me by my name, but I do not want you to get in trouble. By the way you have a lovely name."
Kensia and Jeanohntae said their goodbyes. Jeanohntae continued looking through the other applications. After a while, Jeanohntae looked at the time, she was off in ten minutes. She did not realize she had spent so much time on flipping through documents and applications.
She finished what little work she had left and packed her things to head home for the day.
