The day was coming to an end and everyone in the company was packing up to leave.
Christian and Jeanohntae were walking out hand in hand when Ruth spotted them and walked up. "Mr. Maddox, I will be leaving for the day. Enjoy your evening." Christian nodded and Jeanohntae smile. "I look forward to hanging out with you again."
Ruth smiled with a grateful look. "Madam is so kind. I look forward to that day as well. See you later." Ruth turned to leave as she waived goodbye." Jeanohntae smiled and waived back.
Christian and Jeanohntae reached down to the 1st floor. Whoever was left was still staring at Jeanohntae holding hands with Christian.
They got into the car and Jeanohntae let out a sigh. "I am exhausted from today's event. I wanna go home, take a nice hot shower head to bed." Jeanohntae said leaning back.
Christian smiled and the small woman complaining, but before turning on the car, he remembered what the doctor said. "Sweetheart." Christian called to her. "Huh!?? What is it!??" Jeanohntae asked.
"Is your back still hurting!??" Christian looked worried.
Jeanohntae couldn't speak. She did not know why Christian asked that kind of question. "I'm fine, it's not hurting. Why do you ask!??"
"The doctor said your back was swollen when we brought you in. He said you were probably in pain. Is that why you wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel!?? If your back was hurting, you could have said something to me and we would have went home.." Christian had a frown on his face.
Jeanohntae sighed. "That is why I did not want to say anything." Christian looked confused. "I did not want to ruin the mood. Everyone seemed to be having fun and I did not want everyone to leave because of me. You were finally having fun."
"We all did not have to go, you're riding with me, so we could have gone home. I was only having fun because you were happy, but if you are not happy or you are hurt. Then that is when my mood will change. The next time you are hurting, let me know okay!??"
Jeanohntae was flattered. She just smiled and nodded. They finally left the parking garage and drove home.
After an hour of driving, they finally reached home. Christian looked at Jeanohntae and found her sleeping. In the passenger seat.
He got out of the car and walked around. He opened the door and gently lifted her out trying not to make any fast movement to wake her up.
Joseph and Rudy were sitting down on the couch watching the game. They heard the door open and they looked up. Christian was carrying Jeanohntae in his arms as he heading up the stairs.
He stopped and turned to Rudy and Joseph. "I'm gonna bring her to the room. I'll be back down to talk." He said in a low voice and continued walking.
As Christian laid Jeanohntae on the bed, she stirred a little and got into a more comfortable position. He smiled at her for a little while before turning to leave.
When he got down stairs, Rudy and Joseph were sitting at the counter near the kitchen. Christian walked up to them and sat down.
"What going on Chris!??" Rudy asked
"Dad, uncle Rudy. There is something you both need to hear." Christian said looking at them with a serious expression.
They sat there just listening waiting for Christian to continue speaking. "At the company, Anna came by and started freaking out when she saw Jeanohntae with me." Christian said.
"Ugh! I can't believe you were even with that girl." Joseph rolled his eyes.
Rudy was confused. "Who is Anna!??"
Joseph looked at Rudy with surprise. "Oh that's right. You don't know. Let me explain who she is. Anna is a girl Christian brought home a few years ago. They slept together but that was supposed to be it. She was clinging onto Christian wanting him to date her." Joseph shook his head.
"He gave in an eventually they dated for a year but he broke up with her because he was still in love with Jeanohntae. He was determined to find her and didn't want anyone to get in the way. Hence, he left Anna and looked for Jeanohntae. She has been overseas for a bit but now I'm guessing she's back and saw Jeanohntae with Christian. She didn't want to let go of him so she still considers them a couple."
Christian looked down in embarrassment not wanting to look at Rudy. "I'm sorry uncle Rudy. It seems that ever since I came back into Jeanohntae's life, things have been hard on her."
Rudy just started laughing. "My boy! Everything has always been hard for that little girl of mine. She has worked hard for years and still manages to pull through. Although she has never almost lost her life within the same year. She has had her fair share of trouble."
Christian was perplexed. "What do you mean uncle Rudy."
Joseph and Rudy started laughing. "Son, you were too young to remember this but, Jeanohntae has always had a weak body. She was in the hospital for a month getting treatment. She recovered but she would occasionally faint or get sick but nothing serious than that. Jeanohntae probably does not remember either because she was still young."
Rudy smiled. "That's true. She is truly strong. She always manages to pull through. Although I have always been scared for her health. She never lets that bring her down. She never complains of pain or hurt like how she was when she was young. She has a weak body, though she had her occasional fights and arguments with other people and would always win." Rudy continued laughing.
"I would always scold her, but she always tells me not to worry."
Christian started to smile slightly that Rudy wasn't mad at what happened. "Okay, there's another matter at hand then. At the hospital there was a situation." He said making them stop laughing.
"What happened!??" Rudy said.
Christian sighed. "I don't know if you guys will accept it, but. I saw..."
Before he could say what happened between Nellie and Nikki. The front door opened and the mother and daughter duo walked in.
"I'm sorry, but is everything okay!?? Can we come back now." Nikki said looking down with a frown.
"Yes, Jeanohntae is out of the hospital and is in the room sleeping. Don't make so much noise or try to stress her out." Joseph said looking at the two.
Christian stood up and glared at the Nikki and Nellie. He turned to Rudy and Joseph and calmly said. "We'll continue the conversation tomorrow in my study. I'm gonna go and check on Jeanohntae and then I'll be in my office finishing paperwork if any of you need me."
Christian glare at the pair still standing at the door and then walked up the stairs.
Nikki and Nellie walked in with their bags.
"Did we interrupt an important conversation between the three of you!??" Nikki asked sadly.
Joseph sighed looking in the direction Christian walked off. "Honestly, I don't know if it was important. He didn't say anything yet."
