When Zachary had gotten his bearings and realized what the Olden World and the Supernal Continent were, he gazed at his compass and said to himself, "This Treasure-Hunting Compass is even more amazing than I expected. It has the potential to transport my spirit to another time and place..."
The Treasure-Hunting Compass, which Zachary held in his hand, was created by the world's largest technological firm.
The Treasure-hunting Compass's most powerful purpose was to create a second world in which adventurers could explore for treasures.
Furthermore, its aiding system was capable of releasing quests on its own. Those who finished them successfully would be given a large sum of money. Those who were fortunate enough to strike it rich may become millionaires in a matter of days. As a result, a large number of adventurers admired, if not revered, the aiding system.
Because the Treasure-Hunting Compass could not only create a second world but also connect it to the actual one, any item or creature could easily travel between the two. That was undeniably a miracle!
In addition, the corporation collected a hundred volunteers and intended to observe them while they handled the Treasure-Hunting Compass on a regular basis. That way, they'd be able to correct any defects and make sure they didn't create any health problems for the individuals who used them. One of such volunteers was Zachary.
The Treasure-Hunting Compass had taken him to an entirely new world, one that was quite unlike his own.
Zachary's gaze was drawn to the crescent-shaped "Start" button. He had hit that button just moments before, and the system had transferred him to this unknown world. As a result, he believed that if he pressed it again, he would be transferred back to the world to which he belonged. Of course, there was always the possibility that he would end up somewhere else.
In any case, Zachary hit the button again in the hopes of returning to his usual surroundings. A faint blue light flared from the gadget and encompassed his entire body as soon as he finished. The next moment, before he could blink an eye, his body transformed into a tiny blue dot and vanished.
When Zachary reopened his eyes, he discovered himself in a bizarre, three-dimensional virtual space. He shielded his eyes with his right palm, protecting them from the beautiful network of different colored lights darting back and forth.
A soothing, angel-like voice suddenly filled the room, saying, "Welcome to the Treasure-hunting System. I'm your guide, Mimi."
"Is this the System of Treasure Hunting? I've made it inside..." Zachary was taken aback. After he had inspected his body, he was sure that it had entered the system. Therefore, it could only imply that the teleportation happened because of system failure.
"The Treasure-Hunting System is substantially damaged in 90% of its parts. Self-recovery will, now occur, but it will take a long period. As a result, it can only provide the most basic functions for now..." It was exactly what Zachary had predicted! Something wasn't quite right with the Treasure-Hunting System.
"Okay, I understand. Why did it transport me to this space, even if it was damaged?" Zachary mumbled something. In order for him to return to his world, first and foremost, he needed to repair the Treasure-Hunting Compass. "Mimi, how long does it take to fix the system?" he asked worriedly.
"I can't anticipate how long self-recovery will take because the damage is so serious," Mimi said.
The entire sky glistered with a bright yellow light just as Zachary was ready to ask further questions, and Mimi announced in a girlish tone, "The Treasure-hunting System has discovered a new world: the Ancient World... Supernal Continent... Scanning...
The map is loaded...
Loading data...
Loading historical records...
The loading process is now complete!"
"Now the Treasure-hunting System can directly load information about the world it has discovered" What Zachary had just heard astounded him.
"Please input your name!" Mimi urged as he pondered.
"Zachary Zi," Zachary said immediately, returning to reality.
"Age!"
"I'm supposed to be around... eighteen!"
"Gender!"
"Male."
"Height!"
"Weight!"
Personality!"
"Hobby!"
After fifteen minutes or so, Zachary could not help but complain "Are you running a background check, Mimi? That's more than enough!"
Mimi was silent all of a sudden. Zachary's whining seems to have prompted her to be silent. However, Zachary was becoming concerned as Mimi had not said anything in a long time.
"Go ahead and ask!" He stated this because he believed Mimi was upset with him 'Even a virtual character has her temperament, though I've never heard about that!' Zachary thought to himself.
"Are you a homosexual?" Soon, Mimi asked another annoying question
Zachary could not help rolling his eyes at her. "What kind of a system is this? Mimi, you're like a big-mouthed gossip!"
Suddenly, a massive screen emerged in front of his eyes, with a person that was almost the same size as him. Several beams of red light then flashed across his body.
"The body inspection is finished!" Mimi spoke once again.
Meanwhile, on the virtual screen near the figure, some data was presented.
At the conclusion, there was a statement that said, "In the Supernal Continent, you're the weakest of the weak. Even an ant won't consider you a worthy opponet "
"What kind of an assessment is that?" Zachary blurted out angrily and cursed the system.
Just as he was becoming irritated, the entire area was filled with a flashing red light that appeared to be warning him.
"Congratulations! Even though you're physically and psychologically weaker than the Supernal Continent's weakest, you have double martial speed, which is extremely rare—only one in a thousand people has it!" Mimi exclaimed, her face lit up with delight.
"So, what exactly are you saying? None of it makes sense to me "Zachary grumbled, perplexed once more.
"The planet you're in now is known as the Olden World, and you're now on the Supernal Continent. The warrior's profession is the most well-known in the world. The Mortal Level, the Earth Level, the Heaven Level, the King Level, the Imperial Level, the Sage Level, the Holy Level, and the Divine Level are the eight levels linked with it. In addition, before becoming a warrior, one must complete the Foundation Establishment, making a total of nine levels. To become a warrior, though, one must have at least the basic martial speed."
