Chapter 1 - Introduction

CHOCO WORLD

(fantasy book)

Introduction

In Choco York city a one-year old toddler boy was gnawing a wall in his house. Why was he doing that? Because the walls of the house were made of chocolate and the baby was just fond of it. He even started to eat the wall with the spoon. At one moment the wall started to slope inwards. The wall was just about to fall, when the father stopped his son in time and saved him. The toddler's face was all but smeared with the chocolate so much that it's hard to see the face itself. He stared around with his eyes wide-open and full of surprise. This little resident of Choco York had not finished his chocolate yet. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the last piece of it in his mouth. Just at that sweet moment one side of the house collapsed. This sweet house was located in the very centre of the city. The buildings there were lined up like a flock of birds flying up to the sky – a special magnificent view of the houses from the above. However, the collapse of one house in the centre gave also the picture of a pearl broken out of the bead. Now, the father had to look for another place to stay. The fierce pitiless winter was approaching too.

At this sweet point a man in the neighbor house entered the room and cried to his kids:

- Come in, kids. It's time to eat the sticks!

The little children ran up:

- Hooray! We're gonna eat the sticks! – cried they being extremely happy about the situation because the sticks their dad brought were made of special green chocolate. The kids began to eat the sticks straight away while their father was handing out the sweet sticks to his lovely kids saying: "Take this, and this, you got it?"

It is not a rare event that the houses collapse here and there in the city of Choco York. Well, it is almost impossible to prevent little kids from eating the walls and columns of their own houses. It is so sweet and tasty. That is why it is prohibited to leave children alone. Meanwhile, the kids living next door are very excited because they will eat the fallen house right now. Generally all the kids there are good "house eaters". This is why it is always dangerous to invite guests for dinner. If the guests come together with their kids one must be super cautious about the kids! Otherwise a sweet start of the evening may end up with bitter results! Nothing can resist against the chocolate's gravity force – it is so sweet and so magic!

The special thing about this city was that all buildings and households were made of pure chocolate. Maybe because of that, the people who lived there all spoke very sweet language and that is why their mood was always joyful too. Oh, and the residents of this city of Choco York always had sweet dreams and slept very well. Wasn't it a pretty sweet life? And this was all because the chocolate city made their lives happy more than ever. The city kids could eat chocolate as much as they wished to. Wasn't it the true child happiness? Their parents, however, had to restore and repair their houses every other year because the kids would nib the chocolate walls every time. But wait, there was another very special thing about it – the chocolate-made houses were frost-proof in the winter and did not melt in the summer! The secret of it was in the chocolate beans.

The residents of the Choco York city called themselves "Chokies" (Chocons, Chocomans..?). Some of the Chokies were swarthy and would boast with that saying that they were genuine Chokies. The Chokies named their newly born babies using the particle "Choco" at the end or at the beginning of the baby name. Thus such names as Chocostian, Billchoco, Jachoco and Aichoco were quite popular among them. Also, there were such names as Chocopher, Chocomillian, Chocoline, Chocolai, Chocophia, Chocomona, Chocoenry and Chocoriam. For example, this year Chocollia is the most popular name among newly-borns. What sweet names are all these!

There were many types of chocolate in this sweet country: brown, dark, white, red, green, blue, yellow, and even golden chocolate. For example, buildings in the city were often made of brown or white chocolate bricks. Some products were also made of gum. The chocolate brick factory got its energy from magical chocolate beans. These magical chocolate beans were said to have been brought down from heaven by angels in ancient times. The specialists of chocolate did not reveal the secret of these magical grains to anyone because there were those who wanted to use the mystical energy for their own bad purposes.

While the people of Shokokent are living peacefully, an unexpected incident happens - someone steals the magic beans from the chocolatiers.
