Chapter 2 - Brother's disappearance

19 years later

With her easy-going life until now, she has to prepare for facing her past. Everything was going well in Cynthia's life as she planned until abruptly a gust of wind blew past her life with a…

Tragedy!

Her big brother Jess Cress disappeared suddenly.

If that was not enough rumours about his death spread across the city scaring the Cress family.

Cynthia Cress, daughter of the wealthy Cress family, famous for being an introvert since she never steps out from her house.

Not many knows how she looks but it is rumoured that she is as ugly and fat as a buffalo. It's been 19 years and she have barely left her house.

Through the stairs, she walks down in a crop top and shorts.

White and soft skin of her long and thin legs, a beautifully seductive white face and silver thread like long hair fluttering behind.

Big lashes on her big scarlet eyes. A small hearty lips and perfectly curved body.

It appeared that a gorgeous goddess was stepping down from heaven.

In her sleepers, she walked all the way down and then reached the dining hall.

The smooth walls were painted in light red and on the wooden dining table, her family as well as her cousin family was having some chat as well as food.

Cold and eerie atmosphere dominated the dining hall.

Mr. Rev Cress, on the head seat followed by Mrs. Lia Cress and the Felix family.

They didn't notice her presence until Cynthia sat across Arial Felix, the youngest daughter of the Felix family.

The whole family had brown and black hair and similar eyes which were common in the Onlon city expect for Cynthia.

Her hair as well as eyes differed. Her sudden presence yanked everyone attention and they paused their conversation for a few minutes.

"Thankyou". Politely she thanked Aunty Crox for serving her food.

Aunt Cross have worked in her house for more than 20 years and was in her late fifties. She was a sweet and kind lady with a pretty smile.

"Cynthia, it's nice to see you finally joining us for dinner," Arial gave her a pretty pure smile and fixed her sleeves of her beautiful red polka dot skirt.

It was a way of her to show her dress to Cynthia.

Her smile dulled as she changed the topic, "Well, I know its not your fault for being an introvert, but you should have greeted my parents at least once".

Arial seemed to be in a good mood to still care about greetings when the family was having an important discussion related to Jess disappearance.

Cynthia let out a sigh and took a sip of water, "First, I always join for dinner when there is no outsider. Second, I just don't like meeting outsiders, it doesn't mean I am an introvert and third, seeing the atmosphere I don't think anyone would have the appetite for a pleasant greeting, so why are you so dead set at those regular things?".

"You…". Arial glared at her but when her mother kept her hand over hers, she didn't respond in anyway and stayed put.

This was the first time Cynthia ever spoke so many words to her because in the past their meetings remained only for a few seconds to a few words.

"Cynthia, we are not outsiders!" Mrs. Carla Felix pin pointed affectionately and once again eerie silence dominated the dining hall until Jun Felix started to get on main point.

Mrs. Carla Felix was the step sister of Mr. Rev Cress with same father. Greedy as her she took all the family property after their father's death and Rev was as kind as her dead mother, so he let her have it.

After a few years, he opened a business with his wife and succeeded but now his step sister was eyeing for his and his wife business which become more easier after the successor of the family disappeared two days ago.

The current topic was about this matter and Carla and her husband Jun Felix were trying to coax Lia and Rev to let their eldest daughter become the successor of the 'Cress star enterprises' to calm the investors who were deeply worried about the future of the business.

"Brother-in-law, don't be worried. I am sure Jess will come back soon. And if it's related to the business, I know you and sister-in-law is having a big loss, but don't worry we will help you". The stern-faced Mr. Felix in his early fifties said some sweet words.

"It's nice to hear that. But we will decline since right now our top most priority is searching our son and nothing," Mrs. Cross replied rather than her husband with whom Mr. Jun Felix was trying to chat.

She declined their helping hand directly and took the first bite of salad, her droopy eyelids remained down.

Unlike her husband, Mrs. Lia Cress was a little suspicious of the Felix family and had no wish to have a good chat with them.

Because of the sudden rumours since morning, she has received calls from many of her investors asking whether Jess Cress their son and successor died.

Some even asked about the funeral!

"…"

She even got many advices of changing her successor from her insecure investors which irritated her deeply.

Mr. Cress responded, "As Lia has said you don't have to worry. I and my wife will take care of it".
