It was 5 a.m. on a Monday morning. His alarm was blaring. He shuffled around in his bed while groaning as he reached his hand over and turned the alarm off. He lay in bed for a couple more minutes before another alarm went off. He became visibly annoyed as he turned it off once more, "alright, alright!" He sat up on his bed, rubbing his eyes. He looked around his nice apartment and out the large window. It was still dark outside. He got up and walked over to his bathroom. He walked in and stared at himself in the mirror for a long time. He stared at his deep brown eyes before turning on the sink and washing his face. He felt exhausted. He had stayed up the night prior doing research, but what can you expect from a young scientist like himself? He was 21 and had already graduated from college and high school. He picked up his toothbrush and put it in his mouth. A third alarm started going off. He bit down on his toothbrush, annoyed with the presence of this stupid alarm he had forgotten he had set. You could hear an annoyed yell come from another room in the apartment; "turn that shit off!" said his roommate, Kaden, with whom he had graduated and grown up with. Gio chuckled while finishing up with his teeth brushing. He walked out of the bathroom, turning off his alarm. "Better?" He yelled across the apartment. "Yes, thank you!" Gio thought to himself, "Lucky fucker, doesn't need to wake up this damn early for work." He walked over to his closet, opening it and picking out a red button up shirt, black suit pants, and his lab coat. He took it into the bathroom, closed the door and set it down on the sink before looking up at himself once more. His reflection was staring back at him with his tanned skin, curly hair, and dark brown eyes. He looked at the bags under his eyes and said, "Jeez, I need to sleep more.." He rubbed the back of his neck before walking over to the shower and turning it on on a hot setting. He soon got into the shower.

He woke up sweating and in a panic, looking around his bedroom, shaking. He felt his throat dry. He opened the blinds and let in the morning sun as he let out a sigh of relief, "It was just a dream, Ace, no need to panic." He took a long pause before getting up from the bed. He walked over to the big mirror in his room and stared at himself. "See? It's fine, you're fine. " He crossed his arms. He was cold. He walked over to his bed, grabbing a blanket and wrapping himself in it before walking to his bedroom door and opening it. It was so loud, with so many people talking, that he had forgotten there was a family gathering that day. He instantly smashed the door, putting his back to it. Sitting on the floor, he let out a sigh. Putting his knees to his chest, his green/blue hair in his face, he moved it aside, putting his face in his hands, I seriously forgot, huh? Most of these family members I dislike so much. " He picked himself up, walked over to his wardrobe and picked out some decent clothes, a dark blue shirt and baggy black sweat pants. He took off his sleep wear, looking in the mirror for a slight second, tracing them lightly with his finger before turning his back to the mirror and getting dressed. He sighed, walking to the door, opening it and walking out to where all the noise got louder again. He closed the door behind him. Walking down the creaky stairs, making a left into the kitchen, he opened the cabinet. It was full of pills. He took out a bottle labeled "schizophrenia medication." When he opened it, it was empty. He freaked out and ran over to the rest of the family, bottle in hand. "Where are my pills?" His father turned to face him and said, "You don't need those pills; we've told you that you are fine! If you're going to be living here, you need to follow our rules even if you are 19. We threw out all your medication. " There was silence. He dropped the pill bottle. He clenched his fists. I need my medications! They aren't just some pointless pellets I keep around! " This father put his drink down, turning to him, everyone else around him now in silence, "it was bad enough you went behind our backs to go through this stupid "transition" of yours, but this useless medication too?! No way!Now be silent. You're ruining our morning. " There was silence, not a single peep. His father turned around, grabbing his drink and starting up another conversation with the family. Ace turned away, silent with his fists clenched. He walked up the stairs again and back to his room. He slammed the door. He felt humiliated.

Gio was hours into his work, experimenting with different viruses, working on dead animals, looking for a good result, or well, in this case, a bad result for everyone else once he found it. After a few more hours of research with another scientist, which in this case he absolutely fucking hated, they had found the result of what they were testing for, a virus that made the animal subject into a zombie form. They would come back alive in a rotting, slimy, hyper-aggressive way. Once they did this, they exposed them to alive animals as the next part of the experiment. The test subjects of type 1 would then attack the others, and those infected would turn into hyper-aggressive, destructive things. Once the other scientists were working alongside Gio, scientist Alex looked over at him, frightened. We're stopping this. This is wrong. " There was a pause. He looked over at the scientist, "Can you be any more fucking stupid?! We can't shut it down now! Do you know how close we are? " Alexander came close to pressing the shut down button. "So close to what?" he asked, rising from his chair and walking close to the other. Alexander backed up more and more close to the button. Gio took a second and then charged at him, knocking him onto the ground and causing Alexander's head to be hit, knocking him unconscious. Gio stood up and looked at the other with rage in his eyes.He looked at him, then at the enclosure, and a smirk formed on his face. He looked around, then at the other. He grabbed his arm and dragged him into the enclosure, locking it once he was inside, and walked back up to the chair he had been sitting in before.
