I pressed the button I pressed earlier over and over again but it was not taking commands as it should. This time, I could swear that my brain abandoned me.
I know this must make me sound like a maniac or some confused freak but I swear they were controlling everything, you know the type of crazy technology that could exist in this type of world, right?
What was a silly question of me to have asked because you have never been in such a world but in case you have, could you give me some tips on what to expect this is just the beginning?
Now, I must sound like a maniac.
This space was making me lose my mind. I was so confused I remained in the elevator and pressed the close button with the ground floor as my target but that elevator was playing tricks with me as the door remained wide open.
I must be thinking too far, you know. I don't know where the IQ I had on earth disappeared to. (Don't mind me, I must have left it in my body on earth, lol)
Why did I have to think it was a trick when I could have simply lost my way because I was new in the building and the elevator brought me here because it was faulty.
It must have a stairway, right? (I guess my IQ is back, hehe)
I began searching for the stairway and the more I walked on through the endless corridor, the more I felt thirsty.
I could not hold it anymore. I had to be losing so much water by sweating and slowly getting dehydrated when I had steps to climb because of my jacket.
I pulled it off. I looked around missing my cat who was the smartest. Her name which I don't know deserves to be written in the Guinness book of record if there is a space for such a thing.
With my jacket in my hands and the cufflinks and tie removed as had my sleeves rolled up and the first and second buttons of my shirtdress undone, I continued to walk down the corridor.
I missed my headphones most at this moment. I used to use them a lot, when I am reading, doing my home works and trying to relax.
My father claimed they could destroy my ears but that was his business since I had gotten so used to it that I was forced to disobey my very strict father who was I scared of.
I could use really good music; don't you think so? The only reason I joined a popular social media platform was to ask for suggestions of songs from people all over the world.
Well, you know what . . . I simply miss home.
"Mmm," I heard that low but I was sure I heard it. It had to have been real to pull me out of my thoughts or was I really losing my mind? You know, hearing things . . . seeing things . . .?
If I heard ears like a rabbit, I was sure my ears would be erected but since I did not have ears like the rabbit, I was looking around. Rabbits do that, don't they?
My bad.
I was beginning to relax concluding that I would have to talk to my cat about my hallucinations. Until . . .
"Mmm," it came again.
I took a defensive stance with my arms out and fist clenched ready to place a punch on the jaw of any being that comes my way, cat or human being.
I waited to hear the sound again so I could escape in the other direction.
"Mmmhhh!" it came a little louder than the first and second time and I was almost screaming out that they should stop the prank.
Have you ever been pranked? I have been and it was by one of my classmates.
I had to act cool when I saw the fake snake moving on the table but I went to the bathroom to wash my face to avoid looking for him and kissing his jaw with my fist until I draw blood.
The sound came again but this time it was closer and I could identify it as a woman's voice. Who was hurting her?
I guess that was the moment I began questioning my decision to run away.
I had no intention of having a girlfriend in this world but don't you think having an acquaintance aside from my cat was not a bad idea?
I could save her today and she would save me tomorrow. Trade by barter.
I began trying to find her and I paused when I heard it louder this time than all other times. Like a coward. I froze and when I heard footsteps, I ran in the opposite direction.
I am sorry, lady but I cannot die twice.
The footsteps were getting closer and I pushed open the next door I found and ran inside for refuge while praying the culprit was not coming in.
Thud!
My eyes and mouth opened wide as I took shaky steps backward. My body acted before my brain could process what I was seeing.
"Stop," came a deep cold voice. So cold it froze me.
I was cursing the moment I drank whatever that colorless liquid was.
I did not want to turn but I could not run away. The crazy body I now possessed, simply refused to move.
Dang it!!!
"Turn," came the majestic voice. I did not turn on my free will, I swear.
The man's eyes met mine before he raised his hand and neatly mopped off the blood that was rolling down his chin before it could drop to his white shirt.
The black phoenix eyes that met mine had me gulping. I wanted to avoid his gaze and ended up looking at the woman on the floor.
The lady with the beautiful green eyes that could be a supermodel on earth? I was not mistaken because that champagne dress and wavy blonde hair were definitely hers.
