Chapter 74 - Where is my cat

The second slide through to the gap when my cat called out to me, "Run, you must get out of there. The king's brother has arrived."

The fear and urgency in her voice was too alarming for me to conclude it was a joke. I looked around thinking of a way to get the king to wake or a way to get him out of that place before his brother arrives. 

He could not get hurt under my watch. "You must leave your present location and get as far as you can from the king for our survival," she begged me. It was her turn to beg, right? But I was not leaving. 

The king grabbed my wrist swiftly and threw me on the floor before his fangs sunk into the skin of my neck. Rather than getting scared, I sighed in relieve as his hands wrapped around me. 

I could feel his temperature increase and I could smile. It was a slight smile because I was too weak to express that ear-to-ear happy smile I wanted. He was alive and we could get away before we get caught.
