Gate: One of the three types of dimensional doors, it is a portal to another world and contains beasts and monsters that vary in strength. In order for the portal to be closed an Awakened Person needs to enter the portal and defeat the boss monster found at its end. Gates work with a similar ranking system to gatecrashers ranging from F being the least dangerous to X being the most. Besides measuring a gate's magic power with a magic power recording device, a gate's power can be estimated using the color of the gate, F is usually purple, E dark blue, D green, C yellow, B orange, A red and lastly X being white.

When stepping through the gate, the group felt a similar feeling when stepping through the teleporters earlier. Once the sensation of being transported through space ended, Milo and the rest of the group tightened the grip on their weapons before pressing forward.
The interior of the gate looked similar to the inside of a large cave, as they got further in they found tunnels branching off into different sections of the gate. When getting closer to the branches, a group of beasts appeared, there were four beasts, and the beasts looked like rats, only they were the size of large dogs. The teeth of the beasts had a gleam that made them seem like metal, and all along their back they had quills that looked like a porcupine's. Milo activated the inspect skill.
[Common Tier Beast]

When reading that they were common tiered beasts, Milo relayed the information to his team and they jumped into action. Chloe fired a bolt into the nearest beast causing it to squeal in pain, before it launched a volley of its quills at the group. Luke placed barriers in front of him and Zach blocking the attack, Chloe teleported a short distance away avoiding the attack while both Milo and Maria dodged the attack quite easily. After the volley of quills, the four beasts charged in to fight off their attackers. The first rat launched itself at Milo which was a fatal mistake as a second later it laid dead with three ice spears sticking out of its body. The second went after Zach who swatted away its attack with his bladed shield before cutting it down without much trouble. The final two both jumped towards Maria who fried both of them with her lightning, leaving the smell of burning rat in the air.
Once the short battle ended, the team regrouped and checked everyone's conditions, none of them seemed injured, so they moved on to collecting the loot.
After killing the beast that attacked him Milo received 100 exp, this was much more than he was expecting based off what he gained in the Sim Room, but it wasn't an unwelcomed sight. He was also surprised to see another screen.

It seemed that if he was in a group attacking a gate then he would earn experience points for kills his teammates got. This was great news for him, as he wouldn't have to kill beasts himself in order to gain exp. The last thing that surprised him was when approaching the corpse of the beast, it appeared as if a small pillar of light was emitting from the body. When stepping closer he got a new screen.
[Common Tier Beast Body]
Would you like to collect all obtainable loot?
[yes] [no]
After clicking yes, Milo was amazed as it appeared as if all the useful parts of the beast vanished from its body. He then checked his inventory and it showed that he now had two giant steel fang quillrat fangs, a dozen of its quills and a common tier essence core.
After collecting them from his inventory so as to not appear suspicious, Milo returned to the group with the loot, Marco collected all the loot and put it in a satchel he had brought and informed them that the loot gathered in the gate would be distributed at the end of the field experience. After that was settled, the group checked the area for anything else before continuing onward.
