The next week, "Morning Maia!!" the other servants greeted, "Morning Amber, Tana, Lilly, you girls seen Kusava?" Maia asked, "Nope, haven't seen him this morning, maybe he is running late?" one of the servant women said, "not surprising, maybe he spent the night at a brothel or something." Maia grinned and grunted looking down to pick up her cleaning materials, "Oh my, Maia, you're such a jealous type!" Joked one of the servant woman, "very funny" Maia responded to their jokes, all friends laughing together as they began their work for the day, as it was their turn to clean the king's bed chambers that day and the royal bedrooms.
Lilly and Maia both go to the king's bedroom to clean his room, "This is going to be a long morning, isn't it?" Maia thought within herself, as she sighed a breath, walking into the king's bedroom, "Looks like he is out and about getting some fresh air possibly?" "Maia thought within herself, as she and Lilly clean the king's bed, taking off old sheets and replacing them with new ones, swept the floors and wiped the new mirror which Radeon had replaced for Leon, dusted the room and ensured the whole room was clean. Meanwhile, the king was behind one of the pillars in his bedroom, walking back to his room from his morning walks, his back leaning against the pillar, facing the opposite direction of the bedroom, overhearing their conversation, however the servants did not know he was there, as they continued to clean his room as they did their servant duties.
"I heard it got pretty rough the other night at the tavern" Lilly said referring to the bar fight, "Kusava got pretty roughed up, our new friend, however got the surprise of his life haha" Maia responded, still chuckling and laughing at the fact that 'Xavier' went with the special prostitutes. When Lilly heard that, she burst out into laughter, to which when Leon heard this, he blushed immensely, "This will never end" He thought within himself, putting his hand on his head in shame, re calling the event of what he saw that night at the tavern with those 'women' as he stayed out sight, to hear the conversations between the two servant girls.
"I heard you left with the stranger, did you get down and frisky hmm?" Lilly teased. "Hhaha Lilly it was nothing like that…." she blushed at the comments Lilly had made, as they both finished cleaning the king's bed. "Ohhh… are you sure?" Lilly snickered at Maia. "Well if you are going to think like that, then use your imagination…" Maia smirked and both women chuckle together. "Why didn't you warn him about the women?" Lilly asked curiously in laughter, "Kusava said to leave it, as he recalled it "men need some women once in a while" so I left it as it was" Maia said re impersonating Kusava's comments in a deep voice to imitate his words. To which, this amused Lilly and both women laugh. "seems like you have fallen for our new friend, hm?" Lilly smiled. Maia looked at Lilly for a moment, "I must say, his eyes were mysterious, his voice very charming and he had the softest skin on his hands… I…." Maia said, referring to Xavier.
Suddenly, Kusava walks in the king's bedroom to Lilly and Maia, "Morning ladies, I bring thee good tidings!" he said excitedly in a manly grunting voice to cheer up the girls, bringing fresh materials for the king's bedroom, such as fresh fruit and condiments for whatever the king needed in his room, "Thanks Kusava" Maia responded softly taking the items from Kusava. "Where have you been?" Maia asked kindly, "What?" He smiled in defence, raising his hands in question, "Maia thinks you were at a brothel, thinking, "men need some women in their life" Lilly teased and laughed at Kusava, "What?! Maia!!" Kusava exclaimed, "Lilly you're going to get me killed!" Kusava said blushing, looking at Lilly. Kusava was a fair olive skin tone complextion with grey eyes and black short hair with a little fringe. Although he was a servant, and also a night warrior himself, he was a beautiful young man, although older than Maia as he was 27 years old.
Maia laughed, "I feel sorry for the wife you marry, she will have to be worried if her husband is faithful to her or not, hahahaha!!!" Maia joked, to which both Lilly and Maia laugh together as they knew it was true, "Gee, thanks" Kusava replied in sarcasm at her jokes. "Don't worry, I will take out the old bed sheets and bring in the new ones…" Lilly said as she walked out of the King's bedroom for a moment.
"His Majesty isn't in this morning?" Kusava asked looking around the bedroom, "Don't think so, he probably went to get some fresh air or something" Maia responded as she handed him the old clothes to clean. He went quiet for a moment as he clenched his fists at his sides as he looked to the side.
"Kusava, you alright?" Maia asked concerned, embracing his face, looking at Kusava's worried face. Kusava embraced Maia's face tenderly, "I don't care who it is, if any man lays a hand on you… he will die by my hand….." Kusava responded saddened with a hint of anger hiding in his heart, looking away, as he recalled what the king almost did to Maia a few weeks prior, witnessing the event where the King nearly had slapped her. If it were not for Radeon, the King's brother to step in, Kusava would have gone berserk, watching his woman be touched by someone else. Although he didn't admit it to her, he did love her.
"Hey, hey Kusava, look at me, nothing happened right?..." Maia said kindly as she smiled at him, trying to calm him down, Kusava took a deep breath, "whatever you say, boss…" He said in a husky tone of voice… chuckling together.
The king can see this whole scenario unfolding before his eyes from the safety and watch of his bedroom structured pillars holding the roof of his bedroom, as he looked down, and smirked, "hmp… this is going to be interesting…." He thought to himself crossing his arms, bringing his knee up in a comfortable position as he leaned against the cemented pillar of his bedroom, being the dark corner of the room, where no one could see him.
Suddenly Lilly comes back in to the room, "our new friend from the tavern the other night really got a surprise of his life I heard…" Lilly said to Kusava with Maia. Lilly went on to tell what happened to 'Xavier at the tavern with the special women. when Kusava heard this, "Don't tell me…." He grinned and they all shook their heads, at that, all three of them burst out into laughter, looking at each other.
Maia, composing herself, took the dirty clothes and sheets to take them to give them to the washing servants who washed the clothes of the palace, and left Lilly and Kusava to finish in the king's bedroom, "Alright, alright, lets join Maia so we can help her with the sheets and then, start preparations for tonight's royal dinner, I hear his Majesty requested for a fattened calf to be slaughtered with fresh vegetables for tonight's guests of honour." Lilly conversated with Kusava, "How delightful…have a guess who has to kill the fattened calf?" Kusava said. "You right?" Lilly responded simply. "Exactly, come and pick the fattest one and ill kill it" Kusava said as they both walked out the room. their conversations echoing lower and lower until their voices could be heard no more when they left the king's bedroom.
When they left, the king took a deep breath. "they didn't notice I was here…." Leon thought within himself. As Maia goes to check the king's bedroom, to make sure it is all clean, not knowing the other servants had left, checked it was all cleaned, suddenly, the king walks from behind the pillar in the bedroom from the dark part of the room, not seeing Maia walk in, as he almost bumps into Maia not looking where he was going, Both Leon and Maia grasp as they see each other, "Oh.. your Majesty…. " she bowed gently, not knowing how he was going to react.
There is a moment of silence between them for a moment. Maia just waited there, bowing before him, awaiting his orders.
"my servant…. Has not visited my quarters for the past week…." Leon said as he looked to the side and glanced at her.
"my lord the King, has not summoned me since last week, hence is the reason his servant has not come… uninvited…for… obvious reasons…." Maia said with a hidden smirk on her face, as she looked down but glanced at him when he was not looking.
"the King owns your life, you should know to come to me… unless I tell you differently…" he said as he held her chin tenderly looking into her eyes, then pulled his hand away suddenly in pride.
"I am sorry…" she responded. "nothing to forgive…" he said softly…running his hand through his hair as he looked to the side. Maia opened her eyes slowly and was speechless. She looks at him concerned, "Are you alright, Majesty?" She questioned frowning her eyes at him, "Yeah" He smiles softly at her with a slight breath under his mouth.
