"Please come in, dear customers." Roxanna opened the door as she assisted Adlen with gentle care. They held each other, still going with the acts as though they were about to be closer and cross all boundaries the moment they got in bed.
Neirin knew that Adlen hated such places, and she also knew that they did not have a good relationship with each other. But, in terms of acting, they were pretty praiseworthy.
As Neirin walked through the hallway earlier, although it was not that much of a bother since the walls inside this guild were thick, she could still hear some moans and noises.
In her mind, it was pretty entertaining, for based on the sounds and the pitch, she could deduce that the one being pleasured was reaching the heavens as they walked.
A subtle entertaining smile stained her lips. The doors opened. Neirin entered and was in awe again, seeing a crystal chandelier hanging on the ceiling. A king-size bed above the red carpet was in the middle of the room. There was high-class furniture. Even some cigars were left on the table with some liquor and wine. The room smells like a flower made to entice a man. And even the painted walls were dark enough for a sin to happen here.
"How extravagant," Neirin commented.
She was getting amused the longer she stayed inside this guild. Of course, she knew the interior based on her past memories. However, seeing it on the face like this does really take one's breath away.
Does the guild earn so much because of this? Or was it because of the hard work of the gems and flowers Roxanna collected?
As soon as the door closed, Adlen and Roxanna almost threw at each other by how they pushed each other. Roxanna even acted as though she had touched a speck of dirt or something, while Adlen could only scoff, rolling his eyes. They were restraining each other since they knew they could not act like that if they were in front of the headmaster of the courts.
Neirin pushed chuckled at their interaction, looking for a seat. She sat in the middle of the sofa while Adlen stood on her left side. Roxanna sat in front of Neirin, ready to pour some liquor on a glass cup.
Neirin did not utter any word and let Roxanna be. Neirin's eyes wandered to Roxanna's behavior and how she pours her alcohol. Neirin wants to sob. She felt like she was looking at some art right now. She looked like a model straight from a painting right now. Even how she pours rivaled all men's knowledge about alcohol and liquors.
Well, since she was the guild master of the guild of flesh, it was understandable that she had already mastered the art of seduction. Her whole being was a temptation.
"Please have some, your grace." Roxanna was now free to address Neirin as her title since they were inside this room without any intervention. As an act of courtesy, Neirin accepted the glass and sipped it.
The liquid melts in her mouth. It tasted sweet. Like a dessert made for a person to see hallucinations the moment they drink it.
"I praise your choices, Roxanna." Neirin smiled. Although Roxanna was surprised about her visit, she was quick to act very well. But these formalities and respect were not the reason Neirin came here.
"Roxanna," Neirin put the glass down on the table. She then leaned on the sofa and relaxed her tensed muscles. Her shoulders and knees felt slightly sore after walking and jumping from the palace earlier.
"Yes, your grace?" Roxanna asked. Her hands were placed on her lap. She looked relaxed. Neirin smiled.
"I have a few questions to ask." Neirin started. "Would you promise that you will only tell me nothing but the truth? I won't pressure you since I do not have the orb here right now to tell if you are lying or not. But, I pray that you pick your decisions wisely. Correct?"
Roxanna nodded as though it had been given. "My loyalty lies only to the headmaster," she answered in a devoted manner.
Neirin continued while Adlen stood there and watched what was happening. He knew that his opinion was not needed in this matter.
"Then, how was the selling of drugs doing?"
"Huh?" Neirin saw how dumbfounded Roxanna was.
Roxanna was taken aback the moment she heard the word drugs. She knew that she was prepared when she noticed and saw that the headmaster was visiting her guild. But she never anticipated that the headmaster knew about what she was doing behind closed doors.
Neirin knew because of thetheir past knowledge. These drugs came out and shocked the people of the empire. Roxanna's drugs attract men and make them dependent on a certain scent that can only be found in the guild of miracles. The longer these men intake the drugs, the more damage they'll accumulate in their brains and psychological being. In the worst-case scenario, they'll act like they were crazy or take their own lives.
The drugs were numbered.
Hence, Roxanna was the one who was responsible for choosing whom they would use it for. And Roxanna, being the sly she was, often useond it to customers whom she could rob and even those who had roles in the high society.
Neirin doesn't have any problem with that. Roxanna was free to do anything she wanted. However, there was one thing she never did that she should have done, and that was to report her doings to the headmaster.
Adlen, who heard this, was shocked as his eyes widened to his disbelief. He was curious as to what the duchess will be giving as a punishment to Roxanna, but also, in the back of his head, he was anticipating the punishment.
"I-" Neirin did not pressure her. Instead, she acted like she was calmly conversing with a friend over tea.
"I am asking, Roxanna. Hmmm?" Neirin insisted. She took a sip of the alcohol.
Roxanna trembled slightly. The headmaster was still new to the position and they all did not know how she dealt with those who broke the laws. If everything worsens, Roxanna can be killed without proper dealings in the court.
The thought of it made her tremble, but at the same time, Roxanna also experienced many life and death situations. Most of her clients end up being crazy and confess their love for her. After she rejected them, they would send assasins to kill her. Hence, she was able to think this through in a calm manner.
The headmaster was asking a question. Based on her expression and her actions, she was not angry. But that could also mean that it was a facade. The safest thing she could do was answer her question.
Roxanna swallowed. Hands were still on her lap. "I- uhm. They're doing well, your grace."
Neirin nodded as though she received a satisfactory answer. "then, may I ask to whom did you use it for?"
Roxanna's gaze wavered. "For now, your grace, it's about five men."
"Who are these five men?"
"Count Arno. Viscount Limberge. Marquis Rossel. Baron Caviller. Cout Graze."
"The reason you chose them? Was it because of the money? Or is there a scheme behind it?"
"the drug is still in the trial phase, your grace. We selected men who can die without any heir so that we can fake the will to benefit the guild more once they die."
Neirin grinned. Adlen was impressed. He never knew such ways of gaining more money than stealing. He was thinking if he should shift the job he was doing right now.
"Have they died yet?"
"No, your grace. But they're here in the guild as of the moment. They're playing with the flowers."
"Great, Next question." Neirin clapped her hands. Roxanna felt the tension all over her body intensify. Why is the lady not asking her reasons?
"Your grace, are you not disappointed? Mad? Or perhaps, angry?" Roxanna dared to ask. Neirin tilted her head a bit. She frowned as though she was not getting the question.
"Why should I be?" Neirin asked back. "This is your guild. However, there is a warning. If the second that things have not been reported just like what states in the law of the courts, you might be dismissed as the head of this guild. Do you understand?"
"Yes, your grace."
Roxanna felt like a thorn was pulled inside her neck. She felt relieved as she lifted her head, and in the process, she saw Adlen looking at her. It wasn't her intention, but she stared at him for a moment, only for him to stick out his tongue and mock her behind the duchess.
Roxanna glared at him, promising herself that she would get even one day.
"Is there anything you would like to ask?"
"Have you started creating potions through alchemy?" Neirin opened the new topic again, causing both guild masters to be shocked beyond words.
They do not know where these questions came from, but it was causing them heart attack. One was because it was unexpected. At the same time, it was a unique topic that no one could guess!
They might faint at any moment!
"Although I am curious, I haven't tried it yet, your grace."
Neirin saw the spark in Roxanna's eyes. The master of the guild of flesh. The one who specialized in seduction and pleasure looked like a child asking for a gift from santa this christmas. That was what she looked like right now.
Neirin smiled inwardly. "Then do so. I'll support you."
"Pardon?" Both Adlen and Roxanna looked at Neirin.
"I have great hopes, Roxanna. I really do."
Neirin has knowledge from her previous life. In that timeline, Roxanna was able to create a different name from herself. She was able to break free from the court of miracles. She was known as a genius, and almost all of her potions had a great effect on ones body. At the same time, there were also potions that were poisonous.
Neirin was planning on tying her down in the court of miracles. She wanted to owe Roxanna a favor that she'll need to pay in a span of years. Neirin knew that even though Roxanna was a killer and a user of men, she took pride in her words. If ever she could tie Roxanna down, that would be a great help for Vincent in the future.
That's right, everything is for the future.
