"Pardon?" Vincent frowned. His lips formed a thin line as he tilted his head slightly to the left.
"What do you mean?"
A heavy silence filled the room.
For a moment, Vincent thought he was hearing gibberish things that did not make sense. He looked around the room, thinking that since he had been missing in action for almost a month, this was the time that they'll make random jokes about his absence.
But wait.
They're not close.
Vincent doesn't consider them friends.
So, how could they possibly jest?
"It's not a joke, your grace."
This time, Adam took the initiative to take this matter seriously. All of the gazes were shifted to Vincent.
