Leo scrunched his eyes in confusion. He was sure that the low-level beasts wouldn't have been chasing after them, after all, the place only harbored beasts that were above level 30.
However, he soon realized he was wrong. The low-level beasts were indeed chasing him, the difference was, they weren't chasing him from the cave. Rather, they were chasing while coming in front of them, from his side, and even from the ground – beasts like moles!
The reason these beasts were chasing after them was because of the strong stench of blood. Beasts, regardless of their level, would be attracted to the strong iron smell, namely blood. It was one of the few ways they hunted for prey and for survival – this was his conclusion based on his limited knowledge.
However, there was a much bigger meaning for their rush towards Leo, which he would only know later.
