Feng Mian's familiar face in the morning light snapped me out of my stupor.
They had removed the ropes tied around my arms, but the cold was enough to numb my palms anyway.
They could barely hold me up as I struggled to sit straight, sliding myself towards the cell door.
"4th Sister!" he gasped, falling to his knees as he gripped the bars of my holding cell.
"S - San Ge?" I stammered, teeth chattering.
"How dare you!" Feng Mian turned his head, snarling at the guard who had brought him in to see me.
"She's freezing!" Feng Mian admonished the guard as he untied the heavy cloak around his neck. He slipped it in between the bars despite the soldier's protests.
I barely managed to get close enough to take it. It felt like agony trying to wrap it around me, my body stiff and aching.
But I shuddered as the cloak gave me warmth, groaning as Feng Mian's leftover body heat transferred itself onto my skin.
