The two General's eyes widened, as though impressed by my deduction.
Ignoring Zheng's urgent tug of my dress, I gestured for them to continue. From my peripheral vision, Zheng was glowering at me.
"General Liao Hu of the Dui Squad has the biggest piece of Chang Jie." General Peng traced a line along on the map, showing us the biggest land that bordered Tong Zhen, towards the north.
"Forgive your subject's rashness, but General Liao has a daughter who is 17 years old. If Sire wishes to bring him under control, perhaps having her as a concubine -"
"No." Zheng interrupted General Xiao's words. He released me, reaching out and folding up the map. He rolled up the leather, unspeaking.
Anger was rolling off of him in waves, and the Generals looked terrified. They watched my husband, eyes wide.
"Generals," I said when Zheng walked to the back, where his personal work desk was. There was a display wall for his bow and arrows, as well as his sword.
