Chapter 23 - Who Instructed You

After a moment of silence, an idea suddenly came to Fan Shu's mind.

"Oops." She touched her wrist and said in surprise, "I dropped my watch. Did that man take the opportunity to steal it? I have to go to the police station to ask him."

Leng Feng glanced at her and asked subconsciously, "Are you sure?"

Fan Shu nodded anxiously. "I'm sure. When I was waiting for you here, I even looked at the time."

As she spoke, she looked at the ground again and again. There was no trace of the watch.

"There's no need to find it." Leng Feng didn't care at all. "Buy another one."

"But this watch has a special meaning to me. It was given to me by Mr. Fan. If he knew that I lost it so simply, he would be sad."

Leng Feng was silent for a moment. Suddenly, he said, "You mean you want to see that man again?"

Fan Shu sensed that something was wrong with his words. She paused for a moment, then she braced herself and nodded.

She could see the displeasure on Leng Feng's face, but she couldn't give an excuse for it.

When the two of them arrived at the police station, the police were making a statement for Brother Hu.

Seeing that Leng Feng and Fan Shu had arrived, the police was startled. Then he smiled and said, "I was just about to look for you to come back to supplement the investigation. I didn't expect you to come by yourselves."

Leng Feng shook hands with him and head to the side to exchange pleasantries.

As an internationally renowned big shot, the local police knew Leng Feng's name and treated him very respectfully.

Fan Shu took the opportunity to go in front of Brother Hu and directly asked, "Who instructed you to come here?"

Brother Hu looked at her menacingly and didn't answer.

Fan Shu sneered, "That person that instructed you to come here clearly treated you as a chess piece. If you can do it, the person will naturally get the benefits. If you fail, the person will not suffer any losses either. Don't you even understand this? You are being used for no reason."

Brother Hu was stubborn. "Stop trying to trick me. Isn't it all your fault that I came here?"

"I have no hate for you. You don't have to bear a crime just to trip me up. As long as you tell me who instructed you to find me, I have a way to get you to leave your record clean and return safely to the country."

Brother Hu didn't speak. He remembered what Lin Yu had whispered in his ear.

"I know a secret about you..."

Lin Yu had something over him, so he had no choice but to be her chess piece.

Fan Shu sighed. "Actually, even if you didn't tell me, I would have guessed it. The person who instructed you was a woman, right? She's jealous that I was living a better life than her, so she thought of ways to use you to trick me, right?"

Brother Hu stared at her, grinding his molars. "Since you know, why did you ask me?"

Fan Shu laughed. "You're such a smart person. Why are you still hiding the truth for her? Even if I know, it's just my guess. Only by hearing her name from you can I clear my name. Of course, I can get A'Feng to stop making things difficult for you and let you return to the country safely."

"Are you serious?"

If Fan Shu could get rid of Lin Yu, Brother Hu wouldn't be afraid of being threatened by her anymore.

Fan Shu glanced at Leng Feng, not expecting Leng Feng to look at her as well. Seeing that she was talking to Brother Hu, he turned his face away.

She suddenly felt a little guilty. She knew in her heart that A'Feng had misunderstood again.

Fortunately, she had already recorded the conversation between herself and Brother Hu in advance. She just needed to find an opportunity to play it for A'Feng.

Fan Shu sighed silently. She turned her gaze back to Brother Hu and asked in return, "Since you said that I've hooked up with a big shot, then why would I lie to you?"

Brother Hu fell silent. After a moment, he looked up. "Lin Yu asked me to look for you. As for why she wanted to harm you, I don't know."
