Chapter 132 - To Kill A God (7)

PREVIOUSLY

It was a pain in the butt to talk with her in the beginning, but after you got used to her stoic-ness, it was pretty easy to get along with her.

I got over to the mirror, and picked up a brush, combing my hair. Compared to how I looked in my memories, I was a lot more beautiful, but with a lot less muscles. Apparently, in my memories, I was a 'Chi-Neece' woman who worked in the fields with her mother, before eventually marrying some sort of rich boy who elevated my status immensely. Well, seeing as how I was a princess in this world, it appears that I was really favored by lady luck.

After brushing my hair, I looked at my hands and fingers. Dainty, but beautiful fingers that wouldn't even be able to lift a dagger.

"Hm." A faint, pink glow surrounded my hands as lightning crackled at my fingertips. Who needed brute force when you had the emblem of Chromatic Lightning.

I played around with the lightning for several minutes before snapping it out of existence.

I looked at the handbell, and reached for it. Right now, since I've woken up, I wanted to walk out and at least get some fresh air.

I shook the bell and a sound loudly rang out. A short moment later, knocks came from the door before opening. A maid entered the room.

"Milady, you called?"

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

This was the girl who bowed to me earlier. She had blue hair tied into a ponytail. Her eyes were dark green and her skin was light brown.

She was seventeen years old. If the memories were right, this girl was of nobility. However, her family was situated far away from the capital. Might as well say they were situated in a remote territory. Her father was also a mere baron.

She is very far away from home.

But I remembered her as simply someone I consider to have a friendly relationship with despite our social status difference. But we weren't always together though since the maids were rotated. She wasn't my personal maid, but one of the maids that were commonly assigned to be my attendant.

I returned to my act as the crown princess of the kingdom.

"I'm going to go out."

"Go out? But milady, you are still. . .recuperating, are you not?"

She was referring to how I had spent my entire time in bed, after Elm had left. I would have been embarrassed but basically everyone knew of my little crush already so it was a little too late.

Instead, I flashed a bright smile.

"I feel absolutely fantastic now. I can't wait until I skip about with the daisies and dukes."

"But. . ." Her eyes wavered.

I happily walked towards her with slightly prancing steps. I took her hands and squeezed them.

"Even if something does happen, you will be by my side, am I wrong?" I tilted my head with a bit of pout on my cheeks. Since I was close to her, I could see her blushing cheeks.

See? Even my beauty works on women.

The maid, Mera, stared at me for a moment before taking a long deep breath.

"I understand, milady. But, please take it easy and be careful."

I giggled adorably as I left the room. "Thank you for being so cooperative, darling."

And, then I was off. It had been a week since I'd holed myself in my room and as I walked in the corridor, one could truly see how my father loved the color gold and red, the color of our royal family. The walls were clean, decorations were luxurious, maids were also around cleaning. They would stop their work and bow to me.

Indeed, as I walked around the palace corridors, I came across several rooms. Those rooms were occasionally used for guests. But the most used for that were the rooms on the second floor.

There was not much to do here, so my goal was to go outside. I realized too late that I was walking with rush paces, and Mera was trying to catch up to me. I stopped in my tracks as I waited for her to catch up with an amused smile on my face.

Oops, I shouldn't smile like that. Distinguished smile, Distinguished smile.

I changed the way I smiled.

"Walk quicker, Meera. My legs are half the length of yours, and I'm half a mile ahead."

I said as though impatient. Mera's eyebrows went up, and I could tell that irked her. With one giant leap akin to the gods, she immediately covered several miles and walked behind me.

"Crown Princess Eliza, you should take it easy. Didn't you say you would do so?"

I covered my mouth with my hand and gave an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry," I smiled. "But, I told you and everyone of my hand to call me Eliza, didn't I?"

Mera sighed. "And we all told you we simply cannot do that, Crown Princess Eliza."

I tried to give her puppy dog eyes but that didn't work this time. I guess royalty and their titles was something really important to them after all. "Oh you're all so stuck up."

For me however, I was going to live the way I wanted, and to act the way I wanted. Oh, how I remembered the look on all of these pesky nobles's faces when I announced my desire for freedom when I took the title of Crown Princess.

I went forward, though slowing down my steps. Then, as I reached a certain point, I halted. I glared down. I was one of the most intelligent and calculative beings in this entire kingdom, perhaps one of the strongest ones too and yet, every time I see this thing, with it's ridges and all, I couldn't help but shiver down my spine.

This was the thing that had killed me in my memories. In other words… the stairs.

I'm sorry, you're not taking my life. I snapped my fingers and lightning arched underneath my feet, and in a flash, I was already down the stairs.

"Crown Princess Eliza!"

I was startled by her somewhat loud voice. I saw fear in her eyes, but also a little bit of anger.

"How many times have I asked you to please go down the stairs like a normal hum-" She shouted from on top of the stairs but before she could scream anymore, I blitzed to her location, carried her and went back down the rails.

"-an being?!" I enjoyed the look of confusion on her face. Eventually, realization dawned on her and she seemed to got even more angry, but just let it all go with a sigh.

"I've asked you multiple times not to do that too," Meera pinched her eyebrows. "Please, at the very least, warn me next time before you do this again." Then we reached the second floor. It was then I became wary. What was I wary for? It was my family. I currently don't have the time to entertain them. I wanted to entertain myself.

"Do you know where Brother Ivan is?"

"Lord Ivan is currently in the courtyard, training."

"Oh, I see."

Ain't that nice.

"And my royal mother?"

"I recall she went to the studies. She said something about having a massive breakthrough in the field of astro-magiks." She took a side-glance at me after she finished her sentence. I bet she was thinking something along the lines of 'like mother, like daughter'.

"Oh well, if it's my mother, it must be a pretty big breakthrough for her to rush into her chamber." Well, at least they won't be disturbing me.

"We're almost in the garden."
