Lotanna laid backwards on the floor in the parlor as she gazed at the rusty ceiling fan rolling slowly. Amara, her baby girl, was sitted on the floor by her left, playing with her toys.
'Why on Earth shouldn't I report her to the bounty?. She's literally right under my nose and I can't do anything about it'. She sighed.
'Well it's mostly because of Kamdi'. She thought as she arched her back up turning to her baby.
"Amara, hope I'm doing the right thing". She said, caressing the baby's succulent cheeks.
"I just hope she isn't up to something". Her mind flashed back to Kamdi. She remembered seeing them together on some occasions before. Especially when she sold some drugs to Adaline or Nnedi. She would often see Dilindu at a far end, either alone or with Kamdi. She wasn't usually interested in anything relating to drugs.
"Pptt!, I'm just going to keep my eyes on her for now".
Amara let out a loud cry as she stumbled on the floor backwards, after staggering to walk. "Amy, don't cry." Lotanna said as she reached to pull her into her arms, cuddling her.
"Shhh". She hushed her baby who gradually became calm as she rocked her to sleep.

"What did he say?", Tobere asked as Manduco walked up to him with a stern look.
"He awaits you, see that huge wooden box containing weapons over there?, take a turn to your right when you get there", Manduco said, pointing to the large object.
Tobere walked as instructed. It was his first time in the Mildo bount camp. He walked slowly as his eyes swallowed as much detail of the interior as possible. Across the hall way by the right was a room. He saw a female officer in green uniform standing at the entrance of the door which was wide open and another woman in orange uniform with cuffed hands coming out with a cold look.
"Someone you know?".
Tobere's body vibrated at the sudden intrusion and realized he stood frozen at the entrance of Sonna's office. He scratched his head nervously as he gave a faint smile, walking into the office.
" If someone was to tell me you were going to come here, I never would have believed it. I honestly didn't expect you for any reason. What brings you here?". Sonna asked leaning back on his chair.
" Nnedi's the reason I'm here". Tobere said ushering himself to a brown leather couch opposite Sonna's desk.
"Why?, It's not like she's alive anymore".
"Well, I just came because I never really had the chance to give you my condolences and also so we could bury the hatchet between us and start off on the right foot".
"Right foot!?, You're joking".
"No I'm not, you know it was her rape case that started the issue between us". Tobere said motioning his hands in the air as if explaining something.
"Well, look where we are!".
Tobere paused for a moment, trying to let the thick atmosphere that was starting to build up between them to die down.
"I'm still sorry about your eye though".
"It's fine. If it didn't happen, I would have killed you". Sonna said, surprisingly calm.
" You are not to blame either ways. You were only doing your brotherly duty after hearing that she was raped and was last seen with me". Sonna became silent once more.
"I also came to inform you that my flowers and hunted meats are up for sale and I would gladly supply to the people if you would help me. You know they don't really like me, but if you handle it, they'll patronize you".
"I'll conduct a meeting with the boarder trade officer and see what I can do".Sonna said.
"Thank you. That's good to hear. Like I said, I want us to be on the right foot again and get the past behind us".
Sonna sat silently as he kept staring at the paperwork in his hands.
" Well, I'll be on my way now".
"Wait!", Sonna said. Finally breaking the silence. "Please tell Kamdi that I would like to have a word with him concerning this case as his name was mentioned by a suspect".
"I see, hope he's not into any trouble". Tobere said as he stood up heading towards the door.
"As we go deeper, we'll find out".
Sonna followed him from behind, shutting the door just when his eyes diverted to the interrogation room searching for the now absent Tonye.
'She must have taken Adaline Muna back to the prison ward'.
He escorted Tobere to the reception before heading back to his office. Manduco followed from behind.
"Sir, any hint on the drug case?".
"Damn!, I totally forgot. My mind was solely on the murder case. I'll get back to it soon".
"Okay boss. Is there anything I can help with?".
"No, just go back to your duty post and tell Eze to supervise the new recruits and report to me later on".
"Alright then". Manduco left.
Sonna didn't notice him leave as his mind was fixed on Tonye.
'Snap out of it!'. He hit his pen on his forehead instinctively. Trying to distract himself once again, he starts digging into the pile of cases before him.

I felt warmer than usual on the bed, the effect came from behind me as I snuggled deeper into it. There was a weight on my left arm as I felt uneasy. Opening my eyes, it was a broad arm on top of mine.
'This'.
I remembered the feeling of being in his arms and not wanting to go away. His hot breadth kept blowing down my neck as I turned to face this beautiful creature. I had forgotten how good looking Kamdi was. My arms landed on his face instinctively as it traced his eyes, slowly to his nose and finally to his lips. Realizing what I was doing, I quickly removed my hand. Just then did I notice his faint smile as his eyes slowly opened.
"I didn't say you should stop".
"Stop what?". I asked, already flushing.
He chuckled.
His arm held me tighter as my braless bossom pressed hard against his chest. I'm sure he felt how hard that made me. He chuckled because he knew the effect he had on me as his eyes quickly fell on my bossom, bulging out from the opening of my gown. My breathing rate increased and I was sure he could feel my heart racing.
"Mm...mm". I finally managed to clear my throat.
"Oh sorry".
He relaxed his arm giving way for me to sit up, which I did.
"Now you know where I live, am I even sure you came here coincidentally or?...". He asked smirking as he got up from the pillow, crawling towards me. I gulped.
" Or what?".
The closer he came, the more I wanted to tear at those full lips.
"I...I..".
"Shhhh". His right hand slowly adjusted my chin from behind, now facing him. He leaned closer till our lips were few inches apart. I didn't know when my stupid tongue brushed the surface of my lips as I inwardly hungered for his.
"You have a scratch on your neck". He said, bringing me back from oblivion.
"Yeah!, probably happened when I was in the woods". I chuckled nervously.
I watched as he quietly got down from the bed towards the cupboard built on the wall by the right side of the bed. He brought out a transparent bottle with red cream in it.
"Tobere made this, he got it from one of his flowers". He said coming towards me. Applying it to the affected area, he gently rubbed it that I could hardly feel any pain. It was a turn on for me.
"Done". He said, walking backwards to return the lotion.
"Thanks Kam".
He smiled. That was my pet name for him when we dated, though he didn't have one for me.
"Don't mention, you should check other areas of your body for hidden scars, you know?. You never know what caused them". He said smirking as he left the room
'Still corny'.
My mind flashed back to what just happened.
'Kamdi and I on the same bed!'.
Just then, I felt a grumble from my belly. Remembering I had only a cup of tea and fruits, I got down from the bed which I layed, before exiting to the kitchen.
