Chapter 1 - Chapter 0 - A Captain's Log

Report #071: Agent Rani reporting into home base upon entry of the aberration that has formed in Sector 12. It appears as though the overlaps we have observed are taking place in multiple scapes and are forming temporal anomalies. Many worlds have overlapped and it seems as though this world takes the shape of the world four centuries into the future, upon examination of key structures that have not fallen to erosion.

The mammals have begun to replicate our technology and there are no traces of our people on the surface. They appear to use alternative energy sources, the mammals of this period have abandoned the use of leylines and instead have adapted to using processed oils, not simply for use in construction.

Who might have thought those reservoirs could be used as an energy source? The source doesn't appear to tamper with mana concentrations and this scape is brimming with mana, as if magic usage is extinct.

To my fortune, though my infiltration suit is out of date in this setting, but it would appear as though others from our timeline have entered this scape as well. Many of them are mammalian 'adventurers' and even frighteningly those from the further futures or different worlds entirely.

I continue my guise as one of our Warforged constructs having taken on 'sapience'.

Faraam I call myself.

I've come to suspect we left this plane at some point in the past, adamantine and mithril reservoirs are more or less depleted, yet they aren't used in construction. Yet even more shockingly, far less of the cold ferrous we scorn exists in mammalian hands, they've moved onto steel as our propaganda agents had hoped.

It's funny, they've taken to using silicon finally after all those centuries. I wonder how long it will take for them to switch to graphite structures? Who knows? Agent Rani signing off.
