"About the matter you asked me to look into earlier, I'll place the documents here for you." Ivy placed a folder before me and tactfully took a few steps back. She then quietly left and closed the door behind her.
Elvira. She had just turned eighteen. Today was her birthday. She was an only child. Her mother had died in childbirth while her father died in a car accident on the day she was born.
She was too pitiful. If I had known this earlier, I would have given her more comfort. I continued reading. She was currently living with her aunt and her cousin.
Her aunt had to be the woman who had cursed at her on the phone this morning. Her so-called cousin was a little hoodlum who had spent a few days in prison after getting drunk and propositioning girls on the street. It had to be hard living under someone else's roof with a family like this. I realized that I had subconsciously clenched my left first.
