"Why is Lilah here?" Westley asked me, keeping his voice low over the phone. He always felt that I was closer to Lilah than he was. He also knew Lilah had always adored him.
Back then, he had briefly fallen for Lilah too. At the very least, he believed so. But I saw things differently. Westley wasn't good at understanding his own feelings. This was especially when it came to women.
We were both very close to Lilah. She was a kind and bright girl and she was often chattering away. I felt this was because she was eager for attention.
Still, we never found her annoying. In fact, I thought that she was adorable. Furthermore, I believed that she had a very pure heart. I rarely met people who were both beautiful and kind, and I felt that Lilah was definitely such a girl. At least, she had never put a front up when she was with us.
