"Mum," Myra reached out to touch her mother. "Please don't do this."
Angelina gave her a curt smile and pulled away. "Go pack your things, dear."
Myra's heart broke. "Please, Mum." She glanced back at Kevin for some support.
"Ma'am." Kevin stepped forward to speak. "I can assure you that Myra is not a burden, you can let her stay for as long as she wants."
"Mr. Smith," Angelina shook her head. "I appreciate your willingness to help but since the case is over, it'd be best if she moves out."
"What if your parents visit? Wouldn't it cause a misunderstanding? Besides, I need to see your girlfriend and apologize to her, the poor girl must have had to endure another woman staying with you."
Myra gasped in shock and Kevin tried to speak again, but she stopped him while her mother returned to the kitchen.
"What do we do now?" Kevin pulled her closer.
Myra swallowed hard. "I have no choice but to leave."
